So we all know how powerful a talented hooper dancing with a hoop can be- the experience can be beautiful, mesmerizing and like seeing a live a sensual art form. I'm used to seeing hoopers at Burning Man and other festivals from people who are for garnering creativity, expression and art... now I see a TON of companies taking hooping out there and selling it as a fitness regime. What was once something special and sacred has now become mainstream and packaged for the public....

Re: Commercializing hooping
Tue, May 8, 2007 - 8:05 PMDoes no one care about companies like Hoopnotica that are taking something so underground and pushing/selling it as the next biggest pop culture fad? -

Re: Commercializing hooping
Thu, May 10, 2007 - 12:20 AMhonestly? no, i don't care. people are always going to want to make money and what do i care if others are turned onto hooping from a non 'underground' source? whatever depth people want to get into it is their choice. being exclusive to some & not others is not cool in any area of life - so many possibilities missed!

Re: Commercializing hooping
Wed, September 19, 2007 - 6:07 AMHow many times are you going to post this same topic from hope tribe to hoop tribe and other sites on the internet?
Are you looking for attention or just have something against Hypnotica? You only mention them time and time again... Whatever your deal is with them take it up with them and stop this childish rant on every hoop board you can find!
Quite honestly it is boring and non-productive. I would hope that any moderator that see's this post from here forward deletes it immediately. -

Re: Commercializing hooping
Wed, September 19, 2007 - 4:21 PMand it is not like hoopnotica is really that huge. It is still run by one person.
You should be happy that lovely lady is able to do what she loves for a living. If more people tried what she has then I think the world would be a much better and more exciting place.
