What a night. I was lucky enough to co-host World Hoop Day in Chicago with the lovely Mercedes Gomez from Chicago Hoopdance (.com) and we had an amazing turnout...it exceeded expectations. There were alot of familiar faces, some I saw in class just last week and some I haven't seen in a few years...all coming together to celebrate and share our passion for hooping. I'm guessing about 200 Chicagoans and tourists of all types were rockin' their stuff with us for a few solid hours. It was a sea of smiles. There was alot of discussion with fellow hoop fanatics that we should get together to play on the regular and so as I sit here basking in the glow of a fabulous hoop-filled evening, I am excited about establishing/kickstaring this tribe. When I picked the name HooperPower, I was thinking of how it is a *power* that is within us all and how multi-faceted it can be. From sharing with others to personal development and evolution, HooperPower isn't just my biz name...it's something everyone has within them and it's a power that can extend beyond ourselves. I am looking forward to building that *HooperPower* up into a force until all of Chicago is hooping. Let's bring more happiness into our own lives and into the lives of others. Community-time.
