So, I just got a couple of pairs of Melodia Pants and can I just say . . . . HOLY HOOPER!!
They are awesome for hooping. I've had SOOOOO many people ask me about them, and someone even suggest that I list them here . . . so I'm doing that.
Some of you may already know about them, they are super popular with Tribal bellydancers. So, you've probably seen them, or something like them. They aren't cheap, but they aren't super expensive. They are made out of a 4 way stretch, so they totally hide cellulite! They come in a few different styles, and they are available online through 2 sources:

Our designer - Jodie - has been making costumes for about 15 years (she was previously a trapeze artist in the circus) - and she does an awesome job. Once we've tested them and feel confident that the quality is where it needs to be, I'll let you all know.
I should also mention - I currently own one pair of Melodias and they are REALLY nice. Magic ass pants :) They do a great job and their Phoenix line rocks. -

Ours are in the same price range as the Desert Dancers that Caroleeena mentioned. My personal favorite are the Olive Papillons. They have little gold sequins in the material that sparkle like crazy. If this pair was in my size, I would scoop them up right now. We can do custom order too. Jodie just made me a black pair, and I love them! -

I would barely fit into the mariposa pants you have posted but I don't like to barely fit into clothes. If it fits tight, I won't wear it. Plus, if it fits tight to begin with and then it shrinks, then I wouldn't be 'able" to wear them. I would like a pair of those mariposa pants though. I'm 5'6" and weigh about 140. How do I go about getting a pair that fits me? Also, I noticed that it looks like there are actually three different designs in that one kind of pants. How do you differentiate which ones you want? -

Thu, May 1, 2008 - 12:21 PMp.s. You might want to create a thread specific to your site. In fact, you might want to create a Tribe or a Tribe profile specific to your designs. Melodia, Desert Dancer and Geisha Moth have all done that very effectively. They post pictures in the picture area and people pick out the styles they like and order via tribe and then pay using paypal.

I just finished making her a pair of pants and when I read your discussion I wanted to get back to you right away. I can't believe it, you and I are about the same size I am 5"4 130, the "Mariposa"pants that I just posted on hoolamonster@etsy.com would probably be a great fit for you. There are 5 pair up there and I have included some size information. I have a lot of costumes stuff on the site you may find something you like. BTW i have already washed and pre-shrunk the material before I made the pants so there should be inimal shrinkage. I still like to dry 20 minutes in the dryer and then hang them up just to be safe :) -

Caroleeena - thanks for your advice regarding the tribe for our stuff. I think we'll do that once we start to see some revenue come in. We're still so new, and it seems as though we're putting everything back into the business at this point. But yes, the plan is definitely to have an inventory of a variety of styles and designs. And once we're there, we will take your advice and start our own 'Mariposa/ Papillon' Tribe. Oooh, that will be so exciting!

I love my Melodia's. If you can afford them they are totally worth it! Desert Dancer's are also very good.
