Studying other people's videos is an amazing learning tool. I do it a lot more in winter when I'm not so busy and guess what? Winter is careening toward us. Soooo I want to start a few threads that are like playlists on YouTube. In each of these threads, I'd like for us to share the videos that have helped or inspired us in various areas of hooping -- practice, performance, tutorials and artful dance. This first one is going to be a list of folk's practice videos that we've found useful in our own practice or videos that highlight things we are currently working on. As you share links you love, please make note of one or two things in the video that you found specifically inspiring so that others perusing the list can, at a glance, go, "Oh! I want to learn more of that." It doesn't have to be a practice video, per se. It could also be someone's hoopdancing in their living room video or even a tutorial if it highlights a move or moves that you really dig.
I'll start us off. I find all of Khan's practice videos very inspiring. I almost can't watch one without having to get up and try something he does. The one I'm loving right now is his latest a capella practice video and there's tons of stuff in it I like but I think my favorite thing is the Behind the Back Wheel Planes. I'd happened on to these moves by accident but never really realized how cool they looked til I saw Khan studying them in his a capella video.
I plan to add more to this thread and to create the others soon, probably later tonight, but I just got invited to meet some friends for a cold beer ... and I'm off. More soon! And I can't wait to learn what you're studying too.
Let's try to share our links like I have below so they can be perused readily. Thanks ya'll!!!

This one always inspires me to pay attention to the small movements and fluidity that make or break a performance.

Since the beginning I have always been most inspired by Spiral and Jewels. The grace and fluidity they bring to the dance makes it look effortless. Everything is so precise but they look like they're not trying at all. They way they dance and show expression through their body movements is breathtaking.
Since I started hooping, their videos have taught me to be more fluid. Also, their performance videos have helped inspire me to perform better, to present my dance to an audience, to keep my eyes up and interact with the audience, to feed off of them.
Here's a few of my all time favorites:

Jewels - www.youtube.com/watch
They are both beautiful ladies and dancers and I continue to learn and grow from watching them all the time. Thank you ladies for doing what you do~

I get a lot out of Betty's videos. A great example is here: www.youtube.com/watch
She is so great about incorporating dance into her routines. I love her flow. I am not skinny and it is encouraging to see a video from a bbw. (Betty, I hope I haven't offended you.) I would love to some day have my hoop routines be as fab as Betty are.
