As most of you all know I have been pushing hooping here in Louisville since last summer... and I finally think it is really catching on now. This week, I have been contacted by 2 seperate womens groups, both ordering hoops and asked me to come do a jump start workshop!

Also, this week, I was contacted about doing a fire hooping preformance, sold 3 hoops to my hair dresser, another 2 to the girls scouts employees, sending one to california, and two more to Indiana. CRAZY!! All of this by word of mouth. Gosh makes me think what could happen if I just put forth a little marketing effort...???

Louiville is getting their hoop grove on .... Im so excited! Hopefully, we will see more people joining this tribe. I would like to start making some plans for some hoop jams this summer and I would love to see a large World Hoop Day event on the Waterfront this year!

On another note, I have been in discussions with Cristabel ( hoopgirl ) about doing a teachers certification here in Louisville this fall.... Anybody Interested?? I know I have at least 3 people now, excluding myself. Poosie Kat... put out the feelers up your way.. I am thinking maybe September or October. I will keep you posted on this.

Don't stop counting yet... I have a group of about 10 up here asking if you can make them all hoops and do a class too! When I came back from there, I shared with my aunt, and she's addicted. Has all of these people from just a conversation...I'm sure we could get many more if we let people know about it!

I'd love to do the teachers workshop, but I'm no where near ready for that... Maybe in a few years!

Oh Heather, I think we could have you ready for it by the fall. I havent been hooping for years either.... You learned pretty quickly, and there is nobody on that end of the state. I think it would be a prime siutation for you if you are interested.

In the mean time I would love to come up and do a workshop in your area. I will be passing through that way in April, but could come up before then. As far as the hoops go... I have new tape coming in and cand have hoops for you all whenever your ready for them. I just need to know 1) if they want a standard or a water hoop and 2) do they want them 40 - 41" inches ( my standard ) or a 43 -44" hoop (LG, like what you took back with you).

How was your trip to Philly? I'm sure you had a great time! Look forward to seeing you again, and really ... give the teacher certification some thought. In 9 months you will be a hooping goodess... and will be ready for it Im certain! (addictions are fun aren't they) LOL

Ah yes, addictions are quite fun. As is Philly. I'll have to tell you all about it. I'm feeling a little "burned-out" today! HA. Tough problem to have huh? We'll save that for a PM. It was such a great trip. I cried like a big baby on the plane back home. Probably my favorite visit yet. Ah, and now reality is back.

I'll gather everyone and see what they want, and they may beat me if I tell them they have to wait till April. How much do you charge for the class? We're looking for space now, and should be able to find something decent.

Also, can you tell me the difference between standard and water hoops? I'm sure if I ask them what they want, I'll need to explain the difference. I realize the construction is different, but how does it affect the hooping?

oh ...sounds like you had a great trip! I cant wait to hear about it! Call me and tell me all about it... and when your recovered you should come back up and stay the weekend again.

As for the hoops goes if there is 10 -12 of them I can either bring them to you or maybe meet you somewhere in between. Like next months Meet and Greet in Lexington. Im not sure what day Kristal and sweet tea are thinking but I will send them a PM and see if they have decided on a date.

The main difference is that the water hoops, ( like some that Poosie Kat had at the M&G) have water inside them. This makes them heavier and easier for beginners. They also feel totally different that the "regular" hoops. More organic...like they warp around your body. I call them the massage hoops because the water feels like they are massaging around your lower back area. The down side to them is that they are limiting on hoop dancing tricks. Perfect for the waist, bad for stalls and reverses.

As for classes... gosh I havent even thought about it. I was trying to devert classes until I go through the HDIC course with Cristabel, but that is getting harder and harder to do. We do have a date for that training now. October 10 - 12th, here in Louisville. You know.. I would be more than happy to come up there one weekend, and do an hour or two workshop get, them going and bring them hoops. I dont think I would charge them right now, but It would be nice if they would donate some cash towards the gas. So if you think that would work... lets start looking at Feb calendar. Space could be anything from a school gym, to a fitness / dance studio, to even a church basement as long as the ceilings are high enough and plenty of room.

I have fire practice tonight but you can give me a call later this week and we can discuss it from there. Probally be great if we could get 10 - 15 people there.
