Hello,
I thought I would just let everyone know that hoopers are gathering today at around 3:30 pm in Goodale Park in the Short North. Bring your hoops and bring some music and join us! For now, we (or at least I) should be there every Monday until we find a better date.
All experience levels welcome! Don't be afraid to come if you are just starting out. Hoop group is a good way to improve your skills.
To let everyone know, there are thunderstorms in the mix today, which stinks, because it was a beautiful weekend. Who knows how bad it's going to be. If the rain is too steady, I am going to leave myself, but hopefully everything works out. I hope to see hoopers there!!!

No one should have to be stuck in the basement. :( I am going to be at ComFest (I am thinking Friday and Saturday, but I don't know what time yet) and I am making new hoops to bring! Anyone is welcome to join! (Partially because I will feel akward by myself :) )

Mon, July 6, 2009 - 10:59 AMha! So bad news... I lost my car (last weekend) and my ipod was lost/stolen this weekend. I will still be at the park, but with no music. If anyone has a boom box or player, etc. for a temporary fix, that would be fantastic! As for today, hoop group is going to be a silent motion picture. :( -

I thought I would update everyone with news of my happenings! I've been out for most of September (my apologies to everyone, especially Tracy!) And I will be in DC this weekend (and hopefully come back with a publisher, fingers crossed), but that brings my travels for the year to an end. I am having a few minor surgeries this fall, but they shouldn't interfere with any hooping schedules. I feel horrible for missing out on 9-9-09, so I want to get the planning for next year started early as well.
Starting October 2nd, hoop jams will be held at Whetstone Park of Roses from 6-8pm every Friday until the weather turns, and a hoop group on Mondays at Gooddale Park from 3:30pm-6:00 pm. I always bring extra hoops, so never hesitate to come if you don't have one!!!!
MUSIC returns!!!! (yay!)
I am looking for a studio or gym to rent out for the winter season so we can continue hooping year round in the capital. I want something with higher ceilings, like a gym, but if all else fails, I can have them at the belly dancing studio I study at. And I am working very hard to structure a few good classes to start teaching around Columbus!
Someone mentioned there is a hoop community building at OSU. If anyone knows anything about it, spread the word!
I need help passing out flyers for hoop group, so if anyone is interested, I will send a few your way.

Thu, September 24, 2009 - 7:00 PMI don't know if this helps at all, but in St. Louis, a group out there would rent space at a YMCA and various health clubs during winter, I think everyone who came chipped in like $2. I'd be willing to pass out fliers in the Powell area and at the off campuses for Columbus State.
Good luck on your surgeries, even if they are minor!

I have not been able to make the hoop gatherings because I am performing most weekends and I am not in Columbus those particular days. With festival season wrapping up for this year, I should be able to make some Fridays. Come the first signs of spring I will not be available again. I am assuming I am not the only one experiencing this conflict.
I am having a fire spin jam gathering in my back yard every Tuesday, until it gets too cold. I would like to invite all of you who plays with fire, or would like to learn. If anyone is interested in coming message me for directions. (Starting today) There is a mandatory fire safety class to use fire in my backyard. I also ask that everyone bring a Gluten-free potluck dish. We are a wheat-free house, my boyfriend is deathly allergic, one speck of wheat flour is enough to make him sick for a week! Thank you and I hope to see you! This is a BYOF Event (bring your own fuel, white gas only, please)
P.S. I am also looking for 3-4 fire performers for a choreographed piece let me know if your interested.
