My husband and I will be arriving in Hawaii for a 2 week vacation next week. We will be in Kono for a few days, then spend the remainder of our time on my beloved island of Kaiui. For me travelling to Hawaii is my spiritual retreat time for renewal of my spirit. Does anyone know of specific spiritual places or people I should visit while in either of those areas?

    Hi Sherrie,
Are you going to Kona on Hawai'i island? I don't know where Kono is.
If you're going to Kona, you will want to go to Pu'uhonua O Honaunau, south of Kailua Kona. This sacred "place of refuge" is in the hands of the National Park service, but it is still a wonderful place of great spiritual power.
You might want to also go to my website: tantra-intimacy-aspergers.com/mai...alth to download my free brochure for visitors to Hawai'i -- it consists of suggestions made by community activists for how to visit the islands in a pono way, which I just edited and combined into a brochure. There are some wonderful ideas in it!
Also, if you see the documentary Noho Hewa listed as playing while you're there - go see it! Do not miss it!
Have a wonderful time! I'll be in the islands too, from Jan. 15 - 21st, to be in solidarity with those who are remembering the "hewa" (great wrong) of the illegal overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawai'i.
