Hey Everybody,
It is getting close, real close to our fabulous show.

County to Cairo: A music program for the evening that will include raw folk music from the peasant country to sophisticated classics for the theater with a cabaret touch.

As you may imagine we are super excited to have such a stellar dancer line-up.

Think you've seen Ruby at her best? Wait till you experience her perform to the thick lush sound of H.O.T She owns the stage, a true powerhouse of dance.

And Suzanna, producer and performer of several monthly events. She is a rising star and the picture classic raqs sharqi with the skills to back it up.

Then there is Delilah, pretty much enough said right there. She will captivate you with her deep connection to and command of the music like no one else can.

And Then....You! We have a marathon open dance session for everybody to shake off the winter to the sounds of H.O.T. I guarantee you'll drop before we stop!

And Then just when you think you had enough we have the after party featuring Eastern Dub sounds of DJ Muad Deep. More open floor for the rest of the night.

Have you seen Columbia City Theater? This place is AWESOME!!!! old vaudeville charm, exposed brick walls, red velvet through out. Professional lights and sound, great stage, intimate cabaret seating, and every seat in the house is good.
Honestly this is one of the best place to see a show.

Oh yeah then there is our Brand New Cd "Beledi" will be available for the 1st time. I have to say it is the Bomb. We spent 10 months on this project and spent a whopping 10 grand to make it, but when you hear the thick layers upon layers on sound you will know where every dollar went!

Show at 8pm till you all leave or 2am which ever comes first :-p

We are "offically" 18 and up but have adopted a don't ask don't tell policy for a few of our younger fans. So when you get to our lovely ticket and I d people you are either over or under 21. okay? Good

Full bar for those 21 and up.
There is no food service in the theater but a lot of choices very close and you can bring food in with you.

HoT Back in the Studio!

Very exciting stuff! Here's what Erik has posted:

House of Tarab is in the middle of recording Album 2 yet to be titled. There will be a nice mix of classic raqs sharqi music, folk pieces from Lebanon and Syria and some concert style listening pieces. This album with have Oud, Nai, Zurna/Mizmar, Violin, Double Bass, lots of percussion and of course our trademark Chorus vocals.

Cd release party on May 17th, 2008!

After the Fremont Solstice Parade..

come see House of Tarab at the Sustainable Solstice Festival in Gasworks Park! They'll be performing with Delilah, Dahlia Moon, Laura Rose, and the Billion Bellies from 6-7 pm on the main stage (which is apparently also next to the beer gardens).

The festival is new this year, and is centered around sustainable living and creative solutions in the community. We will also be building the pyramid for the final time in Gasworks Park so everyone should come and admire that too. You can read more about the Solstice Parade and our pyramid at www.visionarydance.com.
