Sun, May 3, 2009 - 12:58 AMHi, I've just joined and wondered if there are any hooping things going on in Yorkshire? Very new to it but love all things dancy!

Wed, May 6, 2009 - 1:28 PMHi,
Lurking no more! I'm an Irish hooper in Wales and as far as I know the only one on Anglesey - unless there are any more lurking?
Quite new to hooping but I love it, even though not great, as the smashed lamps in my living room can testify. But I'm spreading hoops and I've just this weekend converted my first male friend to the joy of the hoop!

Re: Newbies say "Hi!"
Wed, May 6, 2009 - 1:34 PMWell done on spreading the word! And the more men we can get interested the better.
Welcome to UK hooping. It doesn't matter how good you are as long as you enjoy it. Try not to compare yourself to everyone else, that way lies despondency and hooping should be all about fun.
Don't know if there is anyone near you. Hoopie Loopie and Skully of Hyperloop Hoops are both near Swansea, that's all I know of on here in Wales.

Re: Newbies say "Hi!"
Wed, May 13, 2009 - 1:45 PMHello,
I live in Glasgow & have been learning hooping from youtube videos for a few weeks out on my terrace...on my own. I've found one hooper through a friend but not met up yet, I'm trying to organise people to meet up & have had good responses from people through gumtree & facebook etc. I think people are pretty keen but haven't got any hoops yet. I think I'm going to try making a load & dish them out. Its also pretty windy & rainy here, but we'll figure something out :)
I've not had a look round the site properly yet but if anyone from Glasgow, or even Scotland wants to say hi, hellO! -

Wed, May 13, 2009 - 2:26 PMHi Siobhan, and welcome.
There are a few hoopers up in Scotland, but like most things up there, you're all quite dispersed! Fiona is in Edinburgh and Kim is in Aberdeen. The bets way to spread the word is get outside and hoop! Although the weather isn't really up to it at the moment.
Welcome to your new obession, and if you have any questions, please ask here as you'll always get a helpful answer - we're a friendly bunch!

Re: Newbies say "Hi!"
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 12:22 PMHi everyone
I am Ali and I have been Hooping just over a week. In my real life I am a dance teacher (which isn't really real at all) and I am already totally addicted! I have even been obsessed enough to start an online blog about it www.hoopamaniac.moonfruit.com if anyone wants an add to their hoop site just contact me via that website.
I can see that there is lots for me to look at but I am gonna have a quick hoop before it gets too dark.
One Love
Ali

Thu, May 28, 2009 - 3:20 PMHi Ali and welcome to the circle!
I see that your teacher is the fabulous Bee! You're a lucky hoopster!
There is heaps for you to look at, but as the evenings are getting longer and warmer you should absolutely take advantage and hoop outside!
Look forward to hooping with you one day!

Re: Newbies say "Hi!"
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 3:41 PMHi everyone,
I'm Sarah, 26 and from Southampton, and have just started hooping last weekend! After several false starts with dodgy hoops I'm eagerly awaiting my first decent hoop I bought online and hoping I can actually keep it up! With the hoops I've tried so far I can't seem to keep it going yet at all but I could never hoop as a kid either, so I'm gonna have to practice like crazy! ANyway, so excited to be joining the hooping world and I can't wait to be able to hoop even just basic waist hooping along to a song. :D -

Fri, May 29, 2009 - 12:51 AMHi Sarah & welcome to you too!
If you've got the right hoop, you're going to be fine! The right hoop makes all the difference. Where have you bought it from, what size etc?
We're excited have you join us too in this lovely circular world which is hooping, and look forward to hearing about your progress!
