Hello Hoopers !!!
Christabel is coming to give her world famous HoopDance Workout Teacher Training at the end of July.
Christabel has also offered to run a Level Two course the week afterwards.....!!!!
This will only happen if enough people are interested.
This is probably the last time we will be able to get Christabel (and Candice) over to the UK to run Teacher Training.
So, if you are interested let me know as soon as you can.
OK, first you need to have done Level One, but Christabel says it is possible to do Level one the first week, and then go straight into Level Two the next week, as long as you have worked hard on her DVD, and can do most of the tricks shown, especially if you can also do many of the moves -------- wait for it -------- "In The Opposite Direction !!!
There is a discount being offered for Level Two, so sign up as soon as you can.
Want more information, feel free to Contact Christabel directly from her website contact form.
There are already 2 people signed up for Level 2, but we still need a few more to make it worth running.
Did you take Level One last year? Fancy taking Level Two, without the need to fly to California ???
Book Now !!!
Hopefully this will happen and I will see you there.
NOTE: You do not have to become a teacher at the end of either course !!! You can just attend to learn more hooping, and use this as ideal opportunity to learn from "HoopGirl" herself, and share skills with other Hoopers !!! Several people have attended just to progress their hooping expertise and really enjoyed it.
You never know, at the end of the course you might just think to yourself, "I never thought I could ever teach hooping to others, but now I am tepted to give it a go"
Check the details www.hoopgirl.com
Best regards,
John.

Re: HoopGirl LEVEL TWO Teacher Training !!!
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 10:17 AMYes, I'm going! I'm very excited too, and that means I get to meet you at last!! But now I'm totally terrified too. Christabel and Sharna in the same room as me, the people who inspire me daily. I'll be too scared to hoop in front of such experts. Oh what the heck - what have I got to loose. It would be the icing on the cake if Diana could come.
:~)
Going to see the chiropractor on Tuesday though because I think I've trapped something and I've had to ground myself this beautiful weekend or run the risk of making it worse. Must be fixed and strong soon so I have time to practice.

Re: HoopGirl LEVEL TWO Teacher Training !!!
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 1:24 PMHi - I'm planning to do the Level Two, too. It will be fab - Christabel was such an inspiration when I took her Level 1 training some (ulp!) 18 months ago, so it will be really interesting to see what is considered to be Level Two and how it is presented. Also she has expanded the content so much.
Woo hoo! -

Re: HoopGirl LEVEL TWO Teacher Training !!!
Sat, May 17, 2008 - 1:40 AMHi, I'm contemplating doing the level 2 also. I just wondered Silverstar is Chrisabela a hard taskmaster, as there maybe some things I cannot do and don't want to feel that I am out of my league?
I am of a similar view to Sue I think it was Sue who said she'll go and enjoy it even if she makes a fool of herself. I think it will be a great opportunity as there will be enough of you who have been hooping a while to give us novices a bit more confidence. -

Re: HoopGirl LEVEL TWO Teacher Training !!!
Sat, May 17, 2008 - 12:38 PMI don't know what the level two is like, but I found that the level one focused more on how to deliver a class successfully, not a test on how good you are! There were many people there that had hardly ever hooped before right up to experts like Sharna! The focus was on how to deliver the Hoop Girl class, how to inspire, how to encourage, how to handle difficult situations etc. A good tip from the training is that if there was something you weren't confident in you could use a class member to help demonstrate if they were more able than you! -

Re: HoopGirl LEVEL TWO Teacher Training !!!
Mon, May 19, 2008 - 2:16 AMHi Michelle,
If I were you I wouldn't worry. As Sonia says you are not expected to be able to do all the moves before you attend, in fact level two introduces you to a variety of new moves during the training.
One thing that is handy before you attend level two is to also be able to hoop in the opposite way to your preferred direction, and to be able to perform a number of moves and tricks in that direction as well.
Other than that, just come along and enjoy !!!
I have put details of the level two training below:
The Level 1 training provided the foundations for class structure, philosophy, business building and teaching skills. Level 2 is all about mastering intermediate moves, a daily emotional focus and principle for each day. This training will help you to build balance, dexterity and poise and provide you with over 30 new moves and troubleshooting, so you can share much more advanced material with your students. Learn to teach your students how to free their creativity through more directed gestures, vocalization and facial expressions while hoopdancing. Level 2 also provides guidance about how to step up to a higher level of personal practice so you have more to share with your students. Lots of hands-on time to receive personalized guidance and forums to discuss special needs populations and business building questions. Hundreds of pages of certified and licensed manuals provide you with an abundance of resources and information to continue being a trend-setting leader in your hoop community. A solid program and daily outline is provided which will allow you to teach challenging and fun Intermediate level classes as two six week class series. Intermediate moves include: Play, Garter, Bun, Pop, Sass, Boing, Horizon, Rocker, Carousel, Bingo, Wings, Roar, Dragonfly, Jingle, Disco, Tailspin, Jackrabbit, Prance, Empress, Dolphin, Sparkle, Pizza Toss, Portal, Whirlpool, Swan, Libra, Magic, Phoenix, Diamond, Eagle, Squeeze... and more!
I hope this all helps.

Re: HoopGirl LEVEL TWO Teacher Training !!!
Tue, May 20, 2008 - 12:43 AMNo, Christabel is not a taskmaster! There may be some tricks that you don't know how to do yet, but that is why the training will be so helpful - it's a teacher training combined with taking a master class taught by an expert hooper! If there are things that you feel are out of your league, I advise you to try them anyway - you never know what you are capable of until you try. Even if you don't master all of these tricks in the space of three days, you will have the knowledge of HOW to do them so that you can practice, practice, practice!
As for looking like a fool, I think you'll find that EVERYONE is focused on their own learning and being supportive of fellow trainees. When you are busy trying to learn new material, you don't have time to point and laugh at others (and to be honest, I haven't met any hoopers or hoop teachers who have that type of personality anyway).
The teacher training is a fantastic environment for learning (about both hooping and teaching). Don't let your "novice" status intimidate yourself. We are all constantly learning and just because someone can do a trick that you haven't learned yet doesn't mean they are better than you.
I recommend taking the plunge and doing this since it's one of the last in person teacher trainings that Christabel will be doing! -

Dates
Wed, May 21, 2008 - 4:12 AMI can't remember what days the Level 2 falls on... :( -
-
Re: Dates
Wed, May 21, 2008 - 5:28 AM3rd - 5th August, that's a Sunday to Tuesday for Level 2.
Level 1 is Wednesday - Friday 30th July to 1st August. We get the Saturday off but I think John is suggesting we get together and hoop in the park and give Nuneaton something to remember over and above the usual shopping Saturday.
Even if this doesn't happen we should get together anyway and hoop somewhere public with Christabel if we can and get some news coverage. -
