My name is Jay and I live in the Tama Bay area of Florida. I am a music fanatic. Especially eclectic music. I was into Celtic music long before it became more a part of a pop culture and have dabbled with playing the Uillean pipes. And then there's the hurdy gurdy - what an amazing instrument. My journey to buying one has been frought with obstacles of one sort or another. And while I had settled on the idea of pursuing a domestically made HG, I accidentaly happened upon that amazing youtube video of Matthias Loibner. It opened up my mind to a range of HG sounds and the potential of the instrument and playing that I had never before heard or thought possible. And then there are those WEICHSELBAUMER instruments - especially the alto model. Well, with the weak dollar and strong Euro I am regrouping with a more aggressive "savings" plan to buy a WEICHSELBAUMER Alto. I have played piano since age 8, some saxophone since high shcool and a little bass guitar on the side. I look forward with great anticipation to the day when I have my own WEICHSELBAUMER Alto.

That seems to be an alto sound. And it is simple to hear and see him playing. Seems very nice.
