Admire his mastery of both hg and electronics. I was trying to figure out for a while how he did all that at once, until I figured out that that wasn't all unadulterated hg. It still looks fiendishly difficult, and sounds beautiful.

Re: Matthias Loibner on youtube
Fri, October 20, 2006 - 1:59 AMwell I watched it a few times and although, as you say it's not unadulterated HG , I'm sure (except for one brief section where it sounds like a 3d party warming up offstage, it is a pure matthias. there is a repeater on the riff, i can't remember if Wolfgang makes those with a fretboard or not,,,,, it would be under the keyboard, and it looks like he's reaching very deep. Unfortunately, the camera and the music are too unsynched to tell much about what he's doing. . Also it's too dark where the fretboard might be to tell for sure it's there, but hey available light, etc, etc.
He and Wolfgang showed up at OTW one night and he played on an acoustic, it WAS indeed very impressive. (I only write Wolfgang because I can spell Weishelbau(...something), anyway it sure looks like one of his instruments. -

Re: Matthias Loibner on youtube
Sat, January 13, 2007 - 7:43 PMerhhh....I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing but in my opinion Matthias is using looping sampler which takes a portion of his playing recorde live in "real time" and plays back on demand while he is creating another "layer" on top..... I dont think that technically there is much more than sampler, chanters and very good HG playing technique indeed :-)
I was impressed - even extracted audio from this movie to make an mp3 file for my portable :-))
