Send to medical Clinic at Cajun Dome
or any shelter you wish to assist
********
He has been helping by seeing people around the Cajun Dome. He has seen people with foot infections, high blood pressure, blood sugar problems. There are many cramped together. It is round the clock job housing & providing for so many Displaced Americans.

Communication still sucks. All 504 cellphones are really hard to reach. But at least in Lafayette people are doing better.

As my dad spoke to me he was ohhing & ahhing about the food the Cajun volunteers were cooking. You know that will be some relief, at least a little for the belly.

There are supplies & volunteers at work.

Requests list are coming from Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Slidell, and I hope to hear from the Biloxi area soon.

Emergency supplies will be overnighted to Lafayette while other supplies will be driven in.

Cash will also be available Tuesday to address the most immediate requests.

1/4 million people are currently in shelters. There must be a lot they need.

My Mom lives in California but her hometown is Biloxi. The news from Biloxi & the region Deeply saddens her.

Some of the kindest people are from Biloxi. She says some our family settled here before the pilgrims, and some were shipped over by the nuns in France. Casket Girls (something like that) were ‘troubled’ women, whatever that meant, these women were shipped to the Gulf of Mexico to pair up with the men exploring & settling the area…

If People in affected areas are in touch with shelters in their area, find out what they need & get it to me.
fwb88@yahoo.com
or post here.

A request site will be set up by the International Hospital for Children
visit:
theihc.org
The IHC site will soon carry updates.

More to follow get in touch if you want
Peace.

Labor Day*************
Shelters around the path of Hurricane Katrina will now need some basic necessities that will not be readily available. The International Hospital for Children works to fill the request for supplies from shelters.

Among those needs will be medical - high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. This list will be updated.

Also Canes, Walkers & wheel chairs will be in demand. Gathering such supplies like old reading glasses will also be in demand.

We will keep contact with convoys to in an effort for speedy delivery.

Other emergency supplies can be mailed by express post ….

Housing is a big long-term issue for many many people.

Volunteers are always precious & necessary.

Anyone who wants to help I promise once this is done I will pay you like my father pays for my help. He feeds me crawfish. I will do the same for you.

I am posting this for my dad who is gathering medical supplies, equipment, and other goods like children's medicines, canes, walkers, wheelchairs; glucometers & strips for diabetes ... the list is building
