Getting dragged to Tribal Fest?

So in mind with the whole husbands/partners get together inspired by Chuck, I was wondering how many of you will be at Tribal Fest this year? This year will be my first. I'm sure I'll have to log in more than my fair share of vending booth hours for Romka, but there should be a spare moment or two where we can all get together and have a beer, and just be sympathetic towards each other...

Anyone else?

Hubby/Partner Only Week-end

The idea has been brought up for a week-end hubby/partner time..

We can talk story, share ideas, offer support, play golf and have fun.....

I'm thinking Vegas and in Feb 9 & 10th,,, maybe the 8th to include Friday.

If planned right, it can be a tax write off and I think a cool way to talk about all that BD stuff that we as partners deal with.....

I'm not saying that you can't bring the dancer, but I think that we need to plan time.

If we pick a hotel, maybe we can all meet in the same area/bar/room or to have talks... trade stories, photos, or?

We need everyones ideas here, will this fly?

Hi, everybody!

Shh! I snuck in the back door, as I'm the dancer, my wife the drummer...

I'm taking intermediate ATS and basic fusion at present, with an eye towards bringing in elements of Indian classical dance when the time is right. The road was long to find the group I've hooked up with, but it was well worth the journey. A pair of dance-sisters and I have a wicked sword routine in the works which almost made this weekend's hafla, but needs a bit more fine-tuning.

By day, I keep the intertubes humming to keep print and online advertising flowing, and my lady executively administers a state regulation director.

We're based in sunny Florida, and are so looking forward to TribalCon and Spirit of the Tribes.

How are you today?

What should I buy her for Christmas???

Dancers, do your partner a favor and get all those goodies you want online put onto online wishlists.

Amazon, ebay and other sites offer wishlists so loved ones can see what you want, what size, color, etc... you wish to own so partners dont buy you an ugly Egyptian, plastic beaded, scarab necklace, with hot pink beads and some neon green feather earrings (although that earring idea might appeal to a certain someone in this tribe's hubby!).

Also, ask now (so she isnt suspicious) or peek over her shoulder when she is online, about who her fave ebay vendors are.
Most of us ebay sellers not only will combine shipping charges for multiple purchases, but if we know it is a partner buying for a mate, we will surely take extra time and effort to insure you pick out what she really wants or what will really fit!
On my website, I often aid men in buying the right items for their women.

Further, some of us who know your dancer, may even know what special item she's been drooling over or what she eyed at the last event. We may know things like allergies to metals, doesnt like to bare her midriff, desperately needs new dance shoes, or "loved my blue silk skirt". We can help!

And remember, on a more personal note, just because YOU want to see her in a frilly, see through, barely there negligee, doesnt mean SHE will fee comfortable wearing it.
I'd bet if you bought her some sleek Melos, a decorated bra, and a sassy hip belt, she'd be more than willing to do a lil private dance for ya, faster than she might if you bought her something befitting a strip club waitress!
A belly-gift, coming from you, indiciates that not only do you care about getting her something she will actually wear or use, but that you support her love of dance and want her to crow "Oh this? My husband/wife/mate/partner/lover bought this for me for Christmas!" while you sit back and look proud.
Belly dancing is safe right?...Right!!!??

So you would think that belly dancers should have relatively safe career choices right? I mean, come on...They are dancing...Whats the worse they are going to get, sore feet? Glitter in the eye?

NO!

After looking at the new review of ROMKA's new sword dance, I think I should go get life insurance on my wife. Easy money some would think.

These ladies are crazy!

Whats the scariest thing your dancer has done in her crazy dance career...

My guy left my apartment with the ominous words of..
"Don't worry! Me and Jewell (his trusty sidekick) are going to the hardware store to get you some studio mirrors." And then starts talking about all kinds of crazy construction plots to make these mirrors (and I quote in my most exited manely voice) "stable". Then like a man planning a camping trip/war he starts muttering about base structures, drum rods, and Top structures... lumber and lots of fittings...

After trying to explain that he was the bestest and most handiest, and ab-licious boyfriend ever, I felt for the sake of my apartment deposit it was necessary to brake his heart by saying " strangely enough handsome, most people simply set them on the ground leaned slightly back at the top" he nodded with a blank look, I gave him general good dementions, and he left.

Hours later- and a new credit card
He comes home with 2 packages of
Stanley Frame less sliding door #325 fits openings up to 80”-81” high
Good Quality- 5'- Bright white
247513 Model # 325-5980-WH.R
Code= 0 43044 93586 0

which equal 4 mirrors... and lotsa stuff to bang up against trees when bored~
Amongst a truck full of other things....

He totally got it right! I was the bestest gift ever!
It looks awesome and he said they were cheap cheap cheap at lowes!!!
Meow Meow! You bellymen rock!

My boyfriend, Ben, of 8 years wasn't so impressed with bellydancing for a really long time. He's slowly over the years come to even enjoy it, and started learning the dumbek last year so he can accompany me one day.

I recently had a house fire and lost everything. He came up to visit me in the aftermath of it all (He lives in KY where i'm from, I live in MA where i'm going to vet school). Some AWESOME AWESOME bellydancers--people i'm good friends with as well as people I've never met but just heard about the fire from Tribe--sent me bellydance care packages. I was so touched. But the hilarious part was when Ben was hovering over my shoulder as I opened a package and drew out some costuming--he exclaimed out of nowhere, "Bellydancing is AWESOME! I want to do it!" with not the slightest trace of sarcasm at all. His face was lit up, he was psyched!

I am vending at Rakkasah West, and not only did I get a lovely letter hidden in my vending case (sorry...got distracted by the roommate's fascination with new underwear....see blog. Now I lost where I was going--she's telling me articles of clothing in German while holding them up and having me repeat...I have no idea what she's talking about).

Anyhoo, not only did he do that, but he said the magic words. "Get anything you want, honey, and we'll figure it out later. Get whatever you want."

Total magic to my ears. And oddly, reverse psychology b/c I really have not bought much at all. Perhaps a brilliant move on his part--be the good husband AND save money. Or, just a ploy so I sell more glitter so it stops sticking to everything he owns.

Maybe he IS an evil genius after all.

I do believe that my wonderful belly dancing girlfriend is addicted to tribe.net. This sounds funny i know but I do believe that she is, she uses it for everything now even if it is easier and makes more sense to pick of the phone and call someone. It also presses my buttons at times because I feel like she does not listen to me and would rather be on there than talking to myself. Whiny I know but true. Does anyone else have this problem? What do you do about it?

Grats to all the Husbands and Partners of Bellydancers that found their way to this home away from home community. You are now free to gripe, complain, and basically lament to the rest of us, while we share a beer (...actually go get your own!)

OK guys...we need to pick a day!!!! A day that our Belly Dancer's wives, girlfriends, or other supporting staff, bend over backwards for us for a change.

If you remember, I brought this idea up last year in March. I got a lot of support for the idea, but nothing really did come to light.

So...lets pick a day!

An interesting question....

As a bellydance husband especially as the husband of the director of a troupe, where do you draw the line in regards to what you see as bad behavior choices or attitudes within the troupe, your friends and/or community?

I am a very honest person and I feel that there are things that need to be said even if they are hard to hear. For the most part I feel that most stuff is fairly topical and can and should be taken lightly, however when something comes into direct conflict with my sensibilities and/or I feel it threatens the long term health and stability of myself and those I care about I have no problem calling a spade a spade, even when it is directed at those same people. I would prefer to let you know exactly where I stand so you are not left to interpret what I’m feeling, thinking, etc., and people should know when they have crossed the line. On the flip side of this I can take a punch as well, but I expect you be able to back it up with a bit of logic not just emotional outbursts. I love debates and I think this is really the best road to understanding and growth because it allows you to really see the other side. I am a middle child so maybe that has something to do with it.

The fact of the matter is that we husbands and significant others are the unsung heroes of the bellydance community. For most of us, our lives are as tied up into it as our dancers and I think that that gives us a right to express our gripes openly and honestly and those feelings and opinions are just as valid as any others. Why does everyone else get the chance to get together and talk, while I’m sidelined as an asshole for speaking my mind when if all affects me just as much and in some cases more?

So as you all know (at least I hope you do...) Christmas is around the corner. It is time to contact your local, and not so-local Belly dancing vendor and buy stuff for our lovely wives/partners that bellydance.
What will you be getting your dancer? (If it's a secret just make something up.) What is the cool dancing accessories this year ladies?
Usually my wife just sends me the link and I hit the 'checkout' button and fill in the credit card info, but I do like to surprise her with a little something she isn't expecting.

Ok I was just wondering how everyone else got involved with a Belly Dancer? Surely you didn't wake up one day and decide to resign yourself to the role of pack mule? How did you end up where you are today?
*editor's disclaimer* I just want everyone to know that I do not consider myself a packmule...I have a great wife who never asks me to do something that I am uncomfortable with...

Good morning! Most of you are probably husbands or boyfriends, perhaps a partner of female bellydancers. I'm the girlfriend whose boyfriend has been doing Middle Eastern dancing for about four years. He got sucked into the vortex by his many (female) friends who are/were also bellydancers, and they urged him to try it out. He did, found that he liked it,and now he's got a ton of performances under his belt and is a member of an ATS troupe here in Pittsburgh.

In fact, our first date involved me coming to see one of his student performances. We had met online and had been talking for a few weeks when he invited me to a performance. I was rather shocked by this, continually asking myself, "how does a *guy* bellydance?" Lo and behold, he dances better than many women I've seen (just more masculine)!!

I try my best to be supportive and be involved. I tape and take photos of his performances, promote his dance troupe, and try my darndest to find or make costumes and accessories for my manly man. He has a "fan club" of dancers wherever he goes. He gets some looks from audiences at first, until the music starts... :-)

I'm also a dancer, but I study Bharatanatyam. And I drum. And then drum some more. Talk about gender role reversal. I'm glad that there's a community like this; I thought I was all alone out there!

At DC Tribal Pura a few weeks ago, Maduro and I were talking after the show about something (hence the title) that made us laugh really hard, and we both said that it needed to go up on the Husbands/Partners of Bellydancers unite tribe...
Unfortunately now neither of us can remember what it was. I gotta tell you that whatever it was, it was hilarious.
I'm sure this isn't the first time something NEEDED to be posted but for the life of me, I just can't remember it.

Getting old I guess.

I thought was kinda funny...When I told my husband that I wanted to start Belly Dancing..he said,
"Honey, if you take 10 classes in the next year, you can buy any costume you want". Well, I had 10 classes out of the way in 3 weeks, and boy was he sorry!!!!!! The costume hunting began!
I think he really thought that I was going to get bored with it...I now have about 30-40 costumes, and my own Belly Dance Business...LOL, I think he takes me a little more seriously now!
Let's hear yours!
Men and women

About a month ago, I made it so that new people had to request admission to the Husbands/Partners of Bellydancer Unite Tribe. There was member of this tribe that became a concern when he started bothering several different people. This person was dropped from the Tribe and later from Tribe.Net.
People can still join this tribe so please feel free to invite your friends...We will just be a little more picky about who gets in...

After all, we are here to bitch and moan about our bellydancers are we not?

I go cause I know he loves it, and once I am there...I usually enjoy it...How long until you all got burnt out...or do you still go...and enjoy it!

I visited Despina's web page, and I found a couple of Articles related to safety, not only for belly dancers, but for everybody, especially women.
They are called "Personal Safety Tips" and "Safe and Sound".
Take a look.

That even though as a Husband of a belly dancer I complain, bitch, moan, gripe and every other descriptive word that I can think of about everything that I'm put through by my Belly Dancer I just want everyone to know 2 things...

1) I wouldn't do these things if I didn't love my Belly Dancer and didn't actually mind doing them...(Contrary to what Hobbitkicker believes/wishes, we really aren't mindless zombies...) :]

2) We Husbands are VERY protective of our Belly Dancers (and of other Belly Dancers as well.) If someone gives our dancers grief or drama then they are going to have some very irritated Husbands/Partners on their hands...

Just thought I'd point this out...

I know some of you are most likely aware of a situation going on with a particular "Navel Gazer" who has his sights set on our beloved spouses. For those of you not in the know, please be aware that there is a belly stalker in our midst who has NO boundry limits where personal space is involved.

Among other things, he has harassed our beautiful wives / girlfriends / partners / friends / sisters relentlessly as well as outright lied claiming to be - at first - a photographer and then a drummer - he's had six weeks of video instruction.

He has been seen at many events; his sole goal being to meet, marry, drum for and manage a "belly dancer," without concern of the lady herself.

There are incidents upon incidents that I could regail you with of how he's harassed the ladies - including my own partner; however, I won't bore you with the details unless you wish me to.

His name is Brian. He travels frequently from his home in Modesto, California to the Bay Area and the Sacramento Valley for shows. He has used information on sites of Belly Dancers to call them - reports as many as fifteen times per day - as well as using their show schedules to meet them "in person." He also tends to join groups such as MySpace, Tribe and YouTube in order to keep track of the dancers via friend lists, PMs and video preformances.

I have a picture available if you wish it for reference. If you want a copy for your dancer's safety as well as your own information, please go to this webpage ( http://tahoebynight.info/BadiaFusion/Danger.html ) where I have posted it for easy reference.

Take this how you wish, but please ... please be careful. This person, in my opinion, is dangerous.

She's wildly supportive and is awesome at touching up the make up, turning up the stereo and even helping straighten out the gig rugs.

My husband always wears his "I'm with the Dancer" shirt I bought from ROMKA a year or so ago to every gig. Especially here in SW Utah, where there are so few dancers, he gets spun around and led around so everyone can see it (he's very small so he's easily pulled around...heh). He needs a second one, but I noticed something...at Rakkasah West, two vendors had the exact same I'm with the Dancer shirts, but different fonts, that were advertised as "totally new to the world" shirts. I thought it was ROMKA exclusive...were the rights sold, or is there a belly dance pirate out and about?

If you see a guy looking overwhelmed and amazed at the shear volume of 'tribal'....please say hi and guide me (or him) to the bar!
We should hold a H/P happy hour and share a story or two.

And driving a car with belly dancing bumber stickers....
Has these kind of things traumatized you?

Males Guide to watching belly dancing shows for the 1st time!

This was an interesting post in 'Belly Dance nation'

What do you guys think? ANything good to add...

.....what happens when a man gets ''emotionally affected'' by a bellydancer's performance. Like it or not, I've been asked how to ''prevent it'' from happening, which I can only respond that by nature if a bellydancer affects you, you're going to get one whether you like it or not. Nevertheless, don't wear something stupid or very constricting. If you think it's going to be awkward, don't be an idiot and remain seated (risking a dancer coming by and seeing it happen), kindly adjust and/or immediately walk o the men's room (usually hands in pockets work).

If you're going to be seated, either cross your leg or place your hands in your lap with them folded. And always make sure when leaving the bathroom (I'm NOT kidding) that your fly is zipped up BEFORE coming out. You can;t imagine how many times I've seen a guy have some1 point out to them their fly's undone (quite embarassing). They don't do it on purpose (at least I hope not),
but no1 wants to think that you're ''working it'' at your table while they are performing for any reason, obviously. I like to wear sportswear withOUT zippers just not to worry about it, but if proper attire is required, I DOUBLE check that my zipper's all the way up, period before leaving the bathroom.

And if you ''get one'' , kindly calm yourself and simply relax. The more anxiety you get, the longer it'll take naturally fro it to go away. And do everything possible to keep it to yourself and NEVER bring that topic up to another bellydancer at a public venue.

Hope that didn;t weird any1 out, but for some guys, this is something that has come up (pardon the pun) in the past and needs to be reminded that they're watching a bellydancer and not an exotic dancer, no matter how ''exotic'' the performance. If you know this going in, you won't be undisciplined to have one while inside the venue or restaurant.

And to Laylia, responsibility is one thing, but there's also common friggin' sense on a guy's part, too. And with many 1st timers as audience participants, especially in outdoor venues where bellydance takes place, this is something that will be heard and needed to be disiplined by many of your peers, yourself included, for many performances to come.

When we're at gigs, you just know the husbands are all getting asked, "Oh wow, she's your girlfriend? That must be hot!"

So what do we really say when we get home?

"God, these shoes are killing me. Rub my feet!!!"

"Bring me ice cream, right now!"

"I've got to get this glitter out of my eyeball."

"OOOoooohhhh, yessss, just like that..." (could be good, but I only ever say it when I'm taking my hair down -- we call this hair-gasm in my house)

Any others?

The funniest thing your bellydancer has done?

What is the funniest thing your bellydancer has done?

Just the other day after a performance at a Shisha restaurant, we were leaving and my bellydancer was trying to take her belt off before she sat in the car. It got tied up in some fringes and was hung up...While she was looking down attempting to undo the mess (mind you she had a few glasses of wine and a Shu-Bomb for those of you in the know...) her full head piece slid down covering her eyes....

In 3 words or less: Too Damn Funny!

Pictures will be up of this soon...

Already have the snake... we both spend our vacation fund (and vacation) at the MED FolkTours Dance Camp... and we were one of the first (possibly THE first) Travelling Bands at Pennsic, anyone remember Alghiz? (To the tune of "We're Off To See The Wizard:) "We're off to dance for liquor, catch a good buzz and fall down. We're going to Del Radia and paint our faces brown! And then we'll go upon Horde Hill, and play our drums, oh yes, we will, because because because because because... that's what a wondering party does! (ta-dum, ta-dum, ta-dum) We're off to dance for liquor, 'round and about we will roam. We'll party up a dozen camps before we wander home. And then will we flop upon our cots, well maybe so, but I think not, because because because because because... it's not what a wondering party does!!"

How many times have you been to Hallmark or other greeting cards stores and you see cards for Boss's Day, Secretary’s Day, or whatever "Day" there is. But I NEVER seen one for Belly Dancer's Assistant's Day.

And that's not right! Is it fellas! We work just as hard, or even harder as Secretaries, or the Office Assistants do. So where is OUR DAY????

I propose that we create our OWN DAY! Belly Dancer Assistant's Day! What do you think????

Back in the day ... before The Dance took over, I used to have loads of different things to look at on the net.

Now everything I do seems to be pulled back to The Dance.

It's like it has the gravitational force of a supermassive black hole. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but honestly ... put up your hands if you can remember half of the things that you used to surf or even do in real before The Dance invasion......

What to get a Bellydancer for Christmas?

Ok...Besides the obvious: MORE BELLYDANCING STUFF...What do you get your wife/partner who bellydances? I mean come on...What else do they need (well...They don't NEED any of it do they?)
I know you guys can't really say what you are getting your wives/partners because, chances are good that they read this tribe too...but give hints.

Jokingly I thought about saying I'll give my bellydancing wife a manly gift like a power tool but she loves those too!!!

What does the Bellydancer 'Need' for this Chistmas?
And maybe the Bellydancers can help out here too...What are the hot bellydancing items this year?

We are all asked this question. Maybe it's when she takes her new costume out of the box. Maybe it's when she's showing you a partially sewn belt with a line of sequins on it. Perhaps she is trying on a dress at a show.

I answer frankly each and every time, even if it lands me in the dog house.

But I want to know, what is the *right* answer?

How to turn the tables on the Bellydancers!

Ok...So how do you as the Husband/Partner of a Bellydancer keep the balance maintained so you don't get steamrolled by the bins of fabric/ebay surfing/video-a-buying/zills-a-clanging/snake-a-buying bellydancer?

A couple of examples:

1) What I like to do is be moody...Yup...Be moody but then shock them with an amazing turn around with extreme interest with the belly dancing world and where they think they need to be...This will put them slightly on the defensive but will slow their whirlwind down to a steady trudge. You have to be deep!

2) Encourage purchasing of new costumes but only if they promise to get rid of some of the older ones...Face it guys, we'd have much more closet space if the outdated costumes were sold...(Outdated...Sounds like they are computers don't they?) *Note* This one doesn't really work...It's a good theory though...

3) When you know that Spirit of the Tribes, or Tribal Spirit, or Tribal-thim-ma-gig is coming up and you KNOW your Belly dancer is going to spend lots of money and you KNOW there is nothing you can do about it, the answer is easy...GO SPEND MONEY ON YOURSELF...They can't be mad at you for doing the same thing they are :] After my Wife's birthday in which she EBAY'ed her little heart out, I went out and bought something for myself...She was so busy saying: "Are you mad at me?" That she completely overlooked my new purchases...Just don't forget to pay rent...

Thats all I got so far...And since this is Husbands/Partners of Bellydancers only Tribe, I can count on you guys to make sure the enemy...uh I mean our women...don't find out about these plans...

*Yeah...Right*

Is it obvious that a bellydancer lives there?

I'd have to say yes and for these reasons:

1) As you enter our home, you walk straight into the dining room. Normal people eat in the dining room, but not us...Our dining room is wide open (well except for all the Bellydancing stuff!) for a large practice space.

2) Said dining room has many pieces of bellydancing art hanging from the walls including (but not limited to) tribal belts (made by Belladonna herself), swords, and one really really big canvas picture of guess what? A bellydancer...

3) The computer room has until just very recently had not one but two sewing machines...This room is also very fun of bins of fabric/yarn/costumes/belts etc...

I could go on but I think it's obvious that a bellydancer lives with me...

What about you?

She really knows how to plan out something...

This might sound like I'm being sarcastic but she planned a perfect Christmas/New Year Holiday for us and she got me the best present ever. I'm not going to go into what it was (it *wasn't* a snake though) but I will say it was something from my childhood,
She rocks...

Well with a busy couple of months coming up (Spirit, Tribalfest and assorted east coast shows)....I'm noticing the stress level coming up at home....I'm finding more sewing projects laying around, I'm checking the floor again for needles (sewing) and little metal bits (which feel great on bare feet)....I'm getting the "Can you run to this store and look for this for me?" again....oh well I guess the holidays are over and it's back to the BD world.

Anyone else notice a pick up in the pace of things?

Thanks to my belly-boy Taog for helping me finish my belt yesterday...by doing the lacing and making the hair tassels (he's really so much more artistic than i am...) so that i could finish the bra....

for coming to the hafla to see me perform AND sitting at the vending table so that we could rush to get ready....for not complaining about it....

THANKS to Belladonna's Belly Boy for going to not one but three freaking belly dance events ON HIS BIRTHDAY WEEKEND....for bringing the video camera...for taking pictures....and for being super cool in general.

Hugs, boys -- and thanks for supporting us!

I am drumming for an upcoming show and was privy to something that most husbands of bellydancers never get to see.

With any show you have the inevitable chores like who is going to video tape it or who will push play on the CD player.

And here I was witnessing first hand the volunteering of husbands for these chores, who have no idea that they were even going to the show let alone working it.

I did what any good husband of a bellydancer would do in this instance and that was be very quiet and do not make eye contact. LOL

Well I didn't think it was possible but I saw it with my own eyes, my dancer sat down and created a new dance bra, and she did it in record time with no cursing, nothing got broken, and it came out great.

I congratulated my dancer for a job well done.

OK so the wife just got a shipment of shiny things (coins, medals, so on) for adornment on tribal bra's/belts etc....I was looking over them saying, "Oh that's cool, that's crap, oh that's cool.......wait what am I doing?"

Do you find yourself learning more and more without trying? I never thought i could look at a pile of miscellaneous metal crap and pretty quickly sort through the good/the bad and the ugly.

this is the thread for us to ask forgiveness for our shopping transgressions.

I'll be brave and start: ...
...
with a disclaimer...
it was my own money I spent. :)
k. Here goes:
Sunday morning as I prepared to leave the house I said I only needed a shemadan and a cane and I wouldn't dawdle.
I survived rakassah without buying a single garment. I thought I was safe.
THREE hours later (not, not three hours total, but three hours of trying stuff on) I indeed did buy a shemadan and a cane...but also left with a silly silly bra, belt and skirt costume and a deposit on a dress.

I find it very interesting and f-ing histerical to read some of the topics. Some day I hope I find a man that will communicate and share with others with the same glory, pain, laughs, and general hoaws. Anyway just checkin in and being polite.

OK, so our ladies drag us to hafla after hafla (and we don't mind so much because of the free booze and a chance to show off our new "Malfoof" variation with the 'snap' in it), but when are the hubbies gonna have THEIR own? Let's bring them to OUR hafla, playing OUR servant (hauling beer, ribs for the BBQ, drums, etc.)

I think it's past time we showed the ladies what being a Bellydance Hubby is all about!

Whatcha think guys? Could it work? A long shot I know, we were made slaves a very long time ago...

I have been sacrificed to the Goddess of dance three times, the first time was when my wife convinced me to do a Turkish Spoon Dance with her, I was a little nervous about it, I mean I am drummer not a dancer, but it worked out really well we performed it at Spirit of the Tribes a number of years ago. I was glad that I did it, it was a lot of fun.

We did that dance once again for another event, and the last time I performed at spirit of the tribe the guys in the group drummed for the girls in the Troupe and when it was done the girls came over and picked up the drums and us guys went out and did a stick dance, we weren't the best but the crowd just loved the fact that there were men dancing on stage.
