this mourning eye Re: cieved this N me N box hear on tribe..........header was "very excited"......hehe

My wife and I have been doing the same ol Beltaine/Samhain observances with the same old republican wiccan/druid/gardenarians who chose a pagan path back in the 60's, and have been patting themselves on the back endlessly about how open minded they are. So Jenni and I plod on with them, doing the same rote, stiff, stilted pagan pagents: calling the four watchtowers yadda yadda... I tried to do my part, volunteering as music coordinator, even hiring drummers as far away as new york city, and yet watching the revel fire and drums degenerate into a sad swingers pickup scene by 2am because everyone is either tanked on AlKeeHawl or too damn old to drum until dawn.
Lord knows I tried, booking psychadelic rock bands, but was told that they, gasp, attract psychadelic drugs with them... which Im sure was terribly distracting for the 2000 shamen that come to these events, UGH. I volunteered for music because I have a vision of dancing the sun up for the equinoxes, yet even throwing money at the problem wouldnt fix it, and almost got fired for, gods protect us all, using Canned Music when noone else would make music... I quit volunteering in '06, but we still continue to show up, after all it is Texas, there's nothing else for solitary-practioners of spirituality to collectively do here, and it won't get better if we quit.
WELL, this Beltaine, DJ Paul from Ashville shows up, talking about this new supahscience pagan-tech he calls 'The Hyperdrive XLR8R', and he tells me, 'first rule is, we dance until dawn...!!!" WHOOO!!!
Well, would you believe, we actually got those winnebego bound republicans to agree to lend us the land this summer for a RAVE party?!
tribes.tribe.net/sgoa/thre...852c4f3548
So we're gonna break out DJ Paul's schematics for this here new-fangled XLR8R engine, and for the first time in 16 years, see what opening a REAL portal on our sacred land of Spirit Haven looks like! More proof that if you hold tight and true to your dream, co-creators will come along and help you make it happen!

      here's the official link

Also, lemme clarify my letter to Bedouin (there was a lot of editorial venting in there) that it wasn't just Paul throwing this, there's also a lot of the Giza/SDC peeps from here in H-town pitching in like Chad, Jason and DJ Sunkyst lending their gear. When I met Paul at Decomp, I also met other co-creators of Lions Roar, but don't remember their names.
Its also not 100% on wether they will set the XLR8R, thought the setup is perfect: with the Revel Fire at Spirithaven right in between the stage and huge, flat dance area, but things like burning-bans pop up this time of year in Texas. I hope they do it, Spirithaven is not only sanctified land which we pour good intent into, but also is broken land, that needs y'alls energy, and positive portals to be opened, to help heal it's spirit.

Also to be fair to the older Texas Pagans, they are acting out of love, even though it is from an angle of fear, they simply did not have the opportunities to abandon the fear hologram that many of my friends in the Robert Anton Wilson/Terrance McKenna generation. SOme teach that the 'paths' must be followed, because mistakes made in magik can be damaging, whereas my tribe makes our stand that the only mistakes are in intention! Many were born in the last world war, raised in that dogma, and still found their spirituality a private matter. They worked hard, saved money, and bought beautiful land with converging bioregions to celebrate our love of Earth and Universe, and I am full of gratitude. And though they shun 'canned music', they did help launch the careers (with help from Rhavyn and I) of great tribal-rock bands like Dreamtrybe, Canvas, Wyrdgirl and (the immortal) Spoonfed Tribe. On top of that, they have always been open to all diverse DIY pagan faiths, some of which I am not attracted to.
On that subject, a good 2/3rds of the 'repubi-pagans' I know are in 'what the #uc& did we nearly do' mode, as they realize how close we came to another 'burning times'. They were just showing their love for their country via fear (again, that wartime dogma). The final third of die-hards are the hardcore Avratsu/Satanist/OTO/Sumerians who are just a little too attached to Ragnorock (its cool, we outnumber them by like 10-1 in population 100-1 in intention) we call em Deatheaters!
To sum up, when Jenni &I met Paul and Sunkyst, WE were the oldsters! Sure we had all the gear for producing psychedelic and tribal rock shows, but are sorely lacking in the intel and materials to bring our own Hyperdrive XLR8R online! (I may start a seperate thread to pick y'alls brainz on what I should be packing)
The older pagans are doing their best with their available magik, they realize their communities will fail without new blood yet their fear of recklessness and 'bad-magik' have kept them from meeting the new generation of cyber-pagans. All things change and it is time for the new families and tribes to come together to create the new stargates!

Actually I'm totally not throwing this. It's being put on by the Atrium Obscurum guys from Dallas. I'm just doing everything I can to connect all the dots and steer things in the directing I think they need to be going, and make people get sirius about what we're doing, trance-formation through dance ritual among other things.
  • haha i so know what he's dealing with pagan ceremony turned swinger event by 2am
i've been hauling my energy thru mission control events in sf like this for years trying to "turn the page" of wisdom

alas the new ages books don't have all there clues n artifacts straight
but alot of these people have good tho confused intentions and that's not their fault there's a fog of dogma to sift thru.......

sounds like a call for aid indeed capt'n

found sum most inner resting kommentary on texas psy tribe earlier:

"Efforts are underway to bring a highly trained group of hyperdrive xlr8r personel to create the sacred fire at our event, and I'm hoping it becomes a regular thing at outdoor events in Tx."

"There is also most likely going to be a centralized dance fire present at this event, another thing I feel is a requirement for what we're trying to do. I feel that the fire is a much better focal point for the dance floor than the dj booth, with all respect to the artists, I don't think any of them are ego centered enough to think everyone has to face them. It certainly won't be cold enough for anyone to want to use the fire to sit around and stay warm, which is excellent because that keeps it clear for dancing, which is what it's there for. "

"I am trying very hard to bring magic and ritual in to our scene, because I think it is a very important part of what we're trying to do, one that seems to have been overlooked. This so happens to be a specialty of our new land owners, so I think getting them involved could be a very good thing. Honestly I think once they see what we're doing with the XLR8R they will see the connection between the intentions of our separate groups. Integrating their community in to ours could be very beneficial in many ways, and I think the best way to go about that is to make them like what we're doing so much that they want to be a part of it."
