Wed, July 2, 2008 - 10:00 AMIm really hoping for an xlr8r in the Mojave this summer.. even better would be one in December! As cold as it was last year at the psycircle party, I will never forget it. It was a good challenge and also the first time I experienced the xlr8r. it forms a unique community and enhances my trance. Maybe it’s the wildfire danger now a days? well in any case bring it down south when you get a chance! The launchpad is always ready. -

A "kommunity fire" is not an xlr8r. Intensity is missing...
xlr8r manifests totally different level of intent/energy/focus.
The xlr8r during last September's fire ban outside Eugene was spectacular! Low, plasma hot fire that never grew over a few feet in height thanks to the krews' diligent tending...
Ahhh... to again dance to the twisting, hot energy of a centralized ritual dance fire, weaving in and out, writhing with the sinuous flames... Burn it all away...
Let's XLR8R after fire season's over! Fall Equinox? Winter Solstice? Mojave? Shasta? Mmmm... Shasta...

we karried thru with thee event, xlr8r and all, and was one ov thee best events weed ben part ov......X sept one thing....
quite a few people appearently boykotted thee event dew 2 thee fire B ing there........and knot just 4 safety koncerns.....
reason we werent allowed xlr8r at mojave equinox iz that there R those who 'dont like ritual, oar N E thing that Re: zembles "ritual" and oar "spirituality".......

Fire is part of cycle of life. Life is death and from death springs life. It's all about transitions from one energy state to another... Have to accept the dark as well as the light... order and chaos intertwine in harmonious fractal dance...
Some people just don't get it... Dey fear spirituality and ritual because consciousness expanding experiences don't fit into their narrow worldview... They don't want the transformative experience that the XLR8R can bring to one... they get stuck in the mundane.
Self came back during August '87 Harmonic Convergence (thank goodness for all that tapable intentional spiritual energy floating around that night... Made transitioning much easier...) as original shell occupant died due to MVA complications... Woke up in quite the broken body with people babbling at me strangely (figured out the language eventually but it took awhile... had to rewire brain a little first)... Wondering why everyone trapped themselves with chains of self-limitation when all have unlimited potential if they just wake up and put as much energy into experiencing life rather than walling themselves off from the universe and what it offers to all...
21 years later, I still wonder... Fell in love with Shasta last year... Definitely feel the connection and dream of returning...
Mojave was good, but too many drunks around... Kept tripping over passed out people in the dark and getting drinks spilled on me by others... Rude behavior from supposedly "civilized" persons who can't even haul their trash back out of the desert. Memory that sticks in my head is seeing parking spots outlined in empty bottles with car and occupants missing...
Favorite saying: You can lead a person to knowledge, but you cannot make them think.
The XLR8R is for those who want and appreciate it. Those who don't want the transformative experience can stay home and complain. It's all about choices and it really is all in our heads.
Glad to have you on board Kapt Bedouin! Let's set the world on fire and burn away all the angst!

Well, to those who did boycott the SOURCESYNC you did us all a BIG favor by staying home on the couch or going to Earthdance(yay!) cause that party(and I bet anyone else who was there will say the same thing) was one of the(if not THE) chillest scenes I've been a part of... I know I talked with many on the morning after and most minds where blown away by the energy and the people... WE made a HUGE vibe and Bedouin you have our full love and support! Hugs, J. -

Almost every ancient culture in this world has the fire as an integral part of worship. The sacred fire acts as a link between man's consciousness and the cosmic consciousness. The fire also has the ability to convert the physical components (offerings into the fire) into the psychic components as offering to the deities presiding over the Havans. Havan is a sacred fire ritual that has been in prominence in Hinduism and prevalent in a few other ancient cultures and religious groups in one way or the other. IT IS A RITUAL OF SACRIFICE- Sacrifice made to Fire God, Agni (one of the five elements).
Havans are age-old sacred rituals to invoke and propitiate various energies (deities) using the sacred fire as a medium for the attainment of various wishes and boons in the materialistic and the spiritual worlds as well.
In olden days they led a full life but were always preparing for the next stage with full awareness; and when it was time to leave either their attachment or the home they were fully prepared, not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well.
In most of the ancient ceremonies like Wedding, birth, death, festivals etc., the Havan Kund (the sacrificial fire) is lit. The fire is an element, they believed, symbolizing God, or the power of the universe.
