Just on a whim, I decided to call the IBDC office to inquire about the IBDC 2008...general questions: Where, when, blah blah.

Basically, what I was told is: nothing is confirmed yet and they're working on finalizing details.

Then I asked the big one:

"I'm also curious about how this event is going to take place, since I know several people who particpated in the event last year, and they haven't been paid yet."

Basically what I was told is that there were problems with the location of last year and THAT is why people haven't been paid yet.

That's a new one. I'm not faulting who told me, truth be told, I don't even know who I spoke to...but come on Alex...come out with the truth, and don't blame it on South Point! Geez...

    Well I'm not surprised since they would need to have some excuse why they are advertising the 2008 event while the 2007 participants (including teachers, performers and competition winners) have not been paid. If they blame the South Pointe than people may be more apt to participate in the new event. And remember, it's easier to blame someone else than it is to take responsiblity themselves.
