Mind Maps revisited

A couple of years back there was a thread in here about mindmapping.

tribes.tribe.net/ideafacto...5580b4ed40

I was actually introduced to this while at school by a forward thinking teacher who recommended Tony Buzan's first book on it.

I used the process from time to time, with mixed results and have played around with the various computer programs that do this. .

This last week I finally got some pro training on them during a week-long MBA course and I am very impressed. Since then me and my classmates have been using it to very good effect.

Suggest you take a look at these free programs:
Freemind freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/..._Page, CMap cmap.ihmc.us/. A cheap but incredibly powerful
program is Inspiration (Inspiration.com)

The beauty of the software is that you can flip between linear text lists and mindmaps at the press of a button.

The advantage of mindmaps over lists is that you can keep adding to them over time even on paper and you can remember material far more easily than if you have just taken lineal notes.

Definitely worth another look.

Also there is a demo of Media magazine navigated through mind maps at www.thebrain.com

For more info see www.mindwerx.com.au -- this is the group that lectured us.

If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to try to answer.
