am trying to figure out where my path is taking me next.

I have a children's story that I have been sitting on, because I do not know how I want to have it put out into the world, and I wonder if some of that is about fear, and if it is more important to get it out there, than how it gets out.

I have lots of artsy abstract video i have taken and would like to edit into video poems and find a way to share them with the world. a small piece of that can be seen on my Myspace profile, but the music is not my own and would need to be reworked.

I have oodles of poems and photos and drawings and am in the mood for making another zine soon.

I am schemes and dreams of working with seniors... maybe making mini-biographies in zine form or video with them... and they could share their stories with their family and friends... elders have so much wisdom, and yet we isolate them in western culture...

I would like to run creative workshops with children and youth to have them make their own stories and books... and print them up for a mini-story telling festival with their family and friends... sort of a creative way to promote literacy by having them become authors... and we would form the stories in an after school program using improv storytelling, drama games, puppetry, maybe working with clay, or drawing and painting, digital photography... all sorts of ways to delelop and rough out a story... and we could print them a copy as part of the workshop fee, and print extras if they want to buy some to share with their family or friends... an excellent gift...

i also want to do art shows, and create crazy installation pieces, and pick up skills from artists that work in other mediums... sorta a co-mentoring thing... where we share what we know with each other for free... teach and student artist friend network thingies...

i also want to learn more about photography... seeing as i am a very non-technical and intuitive photographer...
i also thought it may be fun to get a group of artists who would model for each other... for sketching or photography or whatever...

and i would like to make short films... maybe someday make larger films...
or create some theatrical productions... i would love to write a play... maybe do some set design too...

there seems to be so many talented and wonderful people on this site...
and i want all your dreams to come true...
and mine too...

and i know they will, as long as we believe...

Heres to all your dreams and schemes birthing themselves into your juicy and wild wonderful life!

  • Thanks for this topic. Your creativity is a source of encouragement. The paintings are so full of life. Best wishes with the different media that you're exploring.
What is grabbing my imagination these days is very often the Smokies where I live, but not just their visible manifestation. I am fascinated by that which is unseen: The remnants of the 7000 year-old Cherokee village that I drive over every day, traces of farm life from a century ago, the foxes and wild turkeys disappearing into the woods, waterfalls that aren't on any maps, the megafauna that lived here during the Ice Age, the hidden beauty of flowers magnified, and the legends that are still told around campfires. I collect lots of imagination grabbers at gulahiyi.blogspot.com
