I posted this on Tribes I thought would be more responsive, but no one wants to offer imput. So I figured my bellydancing festival lovers out here on tribe maybe more vocal in their likes and dislikes in reguards to weekend festivals. This one is not neccessarily bellydanced focused, but we do include local troupes and dancers among our entertainment, Verbatim danced last year. We (the coordinators this year) are planning early and taking over all aspects of the festival to bring an alternate reality of Faery land to our attendees this year. We want to fill two stages with speakers and entertainers, we want in demand venders, and we want everyone salivating to attend!
Here is my X-Post:
I am a Coordiator for the Midsummer Celtic Faery Festival produced by Sacramento Grove of the Oak. I am looking for contacts who wish to share infromation and best practices on running a major festival.
Even if you are not near the Sacramento area, I'd love to have a few resposes to these questions:
How do you find out about festivals and events you attend?
How far in advance do you make plans to attend events?
What about an event makes it special?
What brings you back to annual events?
Thanks in advance for any your imput I will be sharing it at the next Coordiators planning meeting, April
