Classes

Beginner Belly Dancing and Intro to Rom.
Wednesdays, 6 pm. This is an ongoing class. So, you many start at any time. Your first class is free for new students. In this class you will learn basic Belly Dance technique while learning a choreography. This class includes intro to zils or finger cymbals, veil, skirt and Rom (Gypsy) Dance.

7pm Rom Fusion Class
You will learn different cultures of Rom (Gypsy) Dances including but not limited to Turkish Rom, Spanish (Zambra) and North African. In this class you will learn to dance with swords, spoons, zils, veil, scarves, fire tray, skirt, cane and more. Attendance in this class is limited and by permission only. This class allows entrance a couple of times a year. Contact me for more information.

The studio is open 11 months out of the year. All classes will occur unless holiday or inclement weather. The studio closes from the week of Thanksgiving through December. Classes begin again the first Wednesday of each year.

Indigo Rose is based in East Fort Worth, TX and emphasises troupe dancing and performance. However, performance is not mandatory.

A Romani/Gypsy Fusion mini workshop with Gitane will be held at Crescent Moon Belly Dance Studio, Thursday, November 20th, 8:00-9:00 p.m. Cost is $12.00. Romani/Gypsy Fusion is a collection of authentic Gypsy Dance one would find if traveling along the "Latcho Drom" or the "Gypsy Road." Gitane is the director of Romani Fusion troupes, Dolunay Rose Dancers & Indigo Rose Belly Dancing. She began performing Gypsy Fusion in 1999 and started teaching this style in 2001. She is known for her award winning choreography, and she is popular for her intense passion and energy she delivers to her audience through her performance. This multi-level workshop will outline two tribal fusion combinations emphasizing technique and isolation. The first
combination will incorporate the building blocks of UNMATA's modern bellydance style. The second combination will focus primarily on the Hula Fusion nuance.Each movement will be outlined within a tribal cueing system so that it may be added to any troupe's choreography or tribal vocabulary. Amy will describe and drill each individual movement,then fasten them together into an accessible tribal combo that will be practiced in useful group and duet formations.
This workshop will be fun, fast, and furious. UNMATA believes in beat-your-butt technical practice, so bring water and come prepared to sweat.

Amy's Art of Overlay is at the heart of this intermediate toadvanced bellydance workshop aimed to add expressive layers and distinction to your dance style. Although controlled simultaneous movement is a complex idea, this class provides a simple approach certain to bring impressive results.Beginning with a thorough breakdown of basic isolation technique, Amy will expand such elements as core strength and relaxed tension, and then demonstrate helpful exercises that are necessary to develop an awareness needed to isolate key muscle groups. Then she will teach and drill an isolation combo that incorporates the artistic flare unique to Amy Sigil and UNMATA.

Because this class is designed for the intermediate to advanced dancer, a sufficient understanding of balance and timing is prerequisite.

Choreography Project for Middle Eastern Dance Troupe Competition 2007

Egyptian Workshop in early November

Hi all,
I just wanted to get a feel for an interest in this. I am think of sponsoring Katia of Boston to come here in early November. She has fantastic, unique, Egyptian Style dance. I study with her often, been to her retreat in Boston, workshops in various places in the US, and went to Egypt in March with her as well. She has been dancing for over 30 years and has gone to Egypt at least once every year since 1980! Just a plethera of knowledge and expereince!

The weekend will consist of a 2 day workshop (Sat. & Sun.) and Saturday night show. With a reasonable price range for the full 2-day workshops being about $125-$140 range.
