The Louisiana Renaissance Festival will be introducing a brand new show this
fall...and you have an opportunity to be a part of it!
Open auditions for the newly formed Louisiana Renaissance Festival Dance Troupe
will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 1 to 5 pm at the Festival Site. The
auditions are open to anyone who is interested in 16th century style dance and
who would like to be a part of the show. Absolutely no dance experience of any
kind is required!
To be eligible to audition to be part of this exciting new group, you must be at
least 16 years old (anyone under 18 requires written parental consent) and be
able and willing to make a commitment to rehearsals and performances. Troupe
members will be required to make a minimum of one rehearsal per month, be
available for mandatory dress rehearsals as we get closer to opening day, and
must perform at least 3 of the 6 weekends of LARF (one show per day each
weekend). You also must have garb that falls within our minimum guidelines.
More detailed information about the Troupe and auditions are available on the
Troupe's myspace page, www.myspace.com/161756555.
So pass the word to Friends of Faire and friends who want to be part of our
Faire! If you have any questions or need more information, please feel to
contact Safira, the Troupe Director at safira@sistersoffortune.com.

Re: Do you know anything about this????
Mon, May 21, 2007 - 8:18 AMI checked with them, and it's not anything related to bellydance. They are going to perform period style dancing centered around their period for that renfaire, which is I thin from 1590-1620 or somewhere in that time frame.

Re: Do you know anything about this????
Tue, May 22, 2007 - 3:51 PMNo, I've performed in a Ghawazee coat (period appropriate for this type of event) outside before and it wasn't very fun. :)
It was way too hot!
Plus, I just couldn't commit to every weekend of the fall. Too many other things I want to do.
I do know Safira and Zen that perform there and they are very nice. :)
