middle of the night bathroom treks

topic posted Tue, November 28, 2006 - 8:31 AM by  offlineChris
I have a new question for you guys and gals, especially the Doctors here. I seem to be losing a lot of sleep lately because almost every night in the middle of my sleep cycle I have to get up and pee. I do tend to drink lots of fluids in the days (8+ cups of water or herbal tea) and so sometimes if I stop drinking fluids 2 hours before bedtime I will be ok, but not always. Plus I'm usually thirsty so I don't like to stop drinking things for 2 hours (tested negative for diabetes, go figure).

Is this the sign of a prostate problem at the age of 30?!

Thanks in advance :)

Hmm - do you pee often throughout the day? Maybe you are drinking a lot but not absorbing as much as you should be. If you are concerned I would go check with a doctor =)

    Best of luck...

Hmm throughout the day maybe once every 1-3 hours depending on what I am doing so not too bad. I probably will go see my doc. I just feel silly because every time I see him I forget to ask about something so i figured i might ask around here first since we have some doctors here and there might be a simple answer.

stop drinking around 2 or 3 pm in the afternoon -are there kegal exercize for men?
Have prostate checked if you void with the feeling of not being finished.
Check to see if the herbal teas you are drinking act like a directic or stimulant.
barley teas can make you need to pee .

yes there are kegals for men, i wonder if that would help...hmm

I finally saw my doc and he said that it's normal to have to pee if you drink anything up to 2 hours before bed, and he also said not to take vitamins at night or it could be worse, also caffiene and booze would be something to avoid as well. I think i'm just too tea saturated is all :)
