Re: list of world religions
Sat, February 23, 2008 - 4:56 PMInteresting list.
I found it searching eckankar.
I am wondering about the categories you put it under.
I never heard of a Hindu relationship except for the use of Sanskrit terms for spiritual nouns and concepts.
It certainly does not fit Western "magical." Mystical maybe. Not esoteric since it is experienced bases.
Hope that helps!
Thx! -
-
Re: list of world religions
Thu, June 12, 2008 - 8:22 PMinteresting thoughts tom. my translator is utterly perplexed just now.
eckankar. Hmmm. Sound and light vibration folks. Interesting take on the point of holotropism. Some heavy pseudo science there,
but also some very poetic tables of correspondence and some interesting insights.
I don't know about any of those boxes. The difference exactly between "magical " and "mystical"?
Esoteric is any paradigm outside of the perview of the standard social paradigm set. If we were Hindu or living in india or a few other places,
Hinduism would not be esoteric. Since we live in the USA and given the religious population and demographics, Hindu is definitely esoteric in our culture.

I do agree!
Reminds me that I went to a goth/death-metal/punk/performancy (props & fake blood and real puke) rock show on Friday, and was SO delighted and cheered by it, dancing, shouting, great music, nice happy people.... and I realizied that it throws light upon the Shadow, and brings in the Fun to left-hand-path imagery, for those who can see that, without the fear. I threw a few of them devil hand-signs, myself, with joyful intention. -
