I am helping with a benefit to get the Des Moines Social Club going. It is going to be based around a circus old school style with things ranging from fire performances to spoken word. You can read about their vision for the club at www.subjectivetheatre.org/SC-Bu...nF.pdf .
Basically it is a non profit that will be a dinner theatre with space for classes for arts of all kinds and many other wonderful things. I believe this will be amazing to have in Des Moines and have met with the person behind it and believe in their vision for it.
It is May 10th and need to know ASAP if interested as they are going to print promotion materials next week! So PM me with your number if interested!

Are you thinking this facility might be a place in the future for in-door hoop events? I would like to see hoop jams occuring year-round in DSM!! I read your other post about art festivals etc.. which are wonderful and a great way to introduce people to hooping and have a great time. I would like to create a hoop community where this energy is present throughout the year. -

That is awesome news. My hooping life has just been exploding - I keep making hoops and finding people for them (if you make it, they will come). I have been teaching and promoting hooping and it keeps getting beautifully bigger and bigger. The big question for me has been where to meet. Currently I am teaching at a gym at work, however, it is located in Woodward. Of the places I've inquired about in DSM, I have been concerned about the size of the space and possibly someting getting broken by a flung hoop. Please count me in as a supporter!!

I need to get back into regular practice! I think with all the hoopers in des moines now it will motivate me more to put down my glue and get outside and hoop!

i would love to help on this, but as the seasons progress my son is in baseball and soccer (hahaha, i'm a soccer mom.. without the minivan) so that weekend we are busy. let me know if other dates come up!

I can definitely do it as long as it's on Sat or Sun, but I would love to colaborate as my hooping skills are not what they could be...
