Family has been away all week. Bored to tears. Couldn't stand it any longer. Headed to Best Buy and got my 3GS.

AT&T stores were only selling to preorders (still!). Girl at Best Buy said they had just gotten ten black 32g 3GSs in this morning. Off I went.

Cute Cute young girl (manager of the department, too!) helped me with the purchase. She probably could have sold me a Pre and I wouldn't have noticed till I got home, tho.

She's been AMAZED by the sell thru on the 3GS. Amazed, she repeated. She can't keep them in stock. Gets a shipment 'randomly', she said, 'probably twice a week'.

She said she had 15 iPhones on launch day and nobody seemed to know. However, she said once people realized they couldn't get 'em at T because of 'sold out', her inventory flew off the shelves.

Ringing me up, the total came to $741.19. 'Huh', I asked? 'Oh... sorry... that's the store retail price before I ring it up for sale', she apologized.

So... $741 for the 32g version? Sweet.

I'm really excited about this iPhone. Can't quite get the hang of the compass yet but on the ride back to my office, I shot a test video of the drive and uploaded it to YouTube with no effort whatsoever... while I was driving, no less!. Gawd, this thing is gonna be FUN!!!
