Village green Meeting,




This is a 100% unashamed plug of the Nowhere Village green meeting on the 19th. taking place in the awesome space that is the george in Hackney, E london.



This is gonna be the First year Nowhere has such a meeting and myself and Jess are spearheading the Campaign to get as many of you to come down as possible. This especially includes individuals just finding out about Nowhere or planning on coming for the first time. and even if it looks like you’re not going to Nowhere jobs sucking your fun time away/will have a new little person popping outta you/will be washing lepers in India/are skint/or will most likely be on remand, come along and get inspired for next year.



As Nowhere is growing and changing so is the way we have to do things. Communications are such an example this year there’s going to be 400 of us on that dusty Spanish hill side, so were looking at ways to get better at helping Nowhere get its messages out to as many of you as possible and vice versa. We now have a dedicated communications team, and a translations team who are translating our newsletters into 7 languages!! Including Esperanto, if William shatners in, then I'm in.





But of course Email is just foreplay.





That’s why the village green meeting is important for this year. Most of the organising crew will be there, speaking about the way things will work for the projects they are co-ordinating, answering questions, and by their very rock star nature reminding you of how integral participation is to Nowhere.

In keeping with the Village green theme we will be raising some funds to help nowhere this year, by running a bake sale so please bake some cakey goodness which we can sell with a cup of tea or a coffee. Meetings are always better with cake right??



We are having this meeting so that those of you planning on attending nowhere will be able to share that information with your friends planning on coming with you, and eventually with your neighbours on our dusty site in windswept Spain.





It is also a great opportunity to talk to people who are planning on running theme camps, or those looking to start one. Planning an art project that needs help, or looking to share your decor skills with some lucky lucky empty dome? Then I can’t think of a better place to be on a mid April Saturday noon.



After the meeting we will be showing some films about Nowhere and The crew of burners who left straight from the playa to help with the disaster relief after Katrina in 2005.

And the Arocalypse crew will be throwing their fundraiser that night in the very same venue so you don’t even have to venture too far for that one







Of course we recognise that not everybody lives within easy access of London. Next year we hope to have a few village greens around Europe with regional groups organising local gatherings in their home cities. We will make a decent set of minutes to be available on line.



Of course if you wanna set up a similar meeting in your neck of the woods for this year then I may just come to you and give you a hand

We are planning on having the village green from 3pm till 5 and then show the movies so please pencil it into your diaries, concoct the relevant excuses for employers, finnish your dissertation a week early and tell your house mate to shove her 30th birthday.....well maybe not that harshly.
