Guess the Gerber:
Plop a decent amount of whatever babyfood into each diaper, and you have teams of people trying to identify it by smell and looks alone. peas, green beans, and broccoli look a lot alike when theyre blended up. same for squash, carrots, etc! And they ALL look like baby poop.

Clothespin Game:
Hand out a clothespin to each person attending the shower. The rules for this baby shower game are given out at the beginning of the baby shower that whenever someone says the word "baby" during the shower, any person who calls it out gets a clothespin from the other person who stated the word. At the end of the baby shower, the person with the most pins wins a prize.

Guess Mom's Tummy Size:
(Materials- String or yarn and scissors) Have each person pull the yarn to the size they believe would fit perfectly around the Mother-To-Be's center of her pregnant tummy. After everyone cuts their string, compare the results to the Mommy-To-Be's actual tummy. Give a prize to the person who is the most close!

"How many tylenol are in the babyfood jar" referring to the headaches they will have. (or just jellybeans in a baby bottle)

"Bottle Races":
(Materials- Baby bottles with Milk or Beer). Have each participant take a bottle filled with a liquid and suck the bottle as a baby would. The person who drinks the most in an alloted time wins the baby shower gift. This baby shower game gets everyone laughing!

"Feed the Baby"
Have one partner be "the baby" and the other partner be the parent. See who can feed an entire jar of baby food, using a small spoon, to their partner the fastest. For added laughs, make the "parent" hold the spoon in their mouth while playing and make them hold their hands behind their backs! You'll want to take pictures of this one!

Time capsule
Instruct guests to bring an item to the shower for baby's time capsule. Have guests write a letter, and place their item in the time capsule, then put away for safekeeping until baby is older.

(this one's icky, but at least we can get naked)
Bobbing for Binkies
Fill a large container with water or substance such as pudding or oatmeal. Place several pacifiers inside the water/mixture and without using their hands, have guests try to retrieve as many as possible with their mouths.

Test your baby IQ
Write or print a list of trivia questions concerning babies and parenting (we will have a list for you to print soon) and award a prize to the guest(s) with the most correct answers. Keep an answer key handy so you will know the answers yourself!

5 and 10
Give guests 10 seconds to name 5 things in a selected category (such as baby food flavors, baby bath items, things in a diaper bag, things moms tell their kids). To make it more challenging, have a set list of replies on an answer key and only award points when the player's answer matches what you have.

Guess who
Instruct guests to bring a baby photo of themselves to the shower. Place all photos in a focal point, such as the coffee table, and have guests try to match each baby photo to the guest they belong to. The winner is the person with most correct guesses.

Alphabet name game
Start the game by saying a baby name that starts with A. Have the person next to you continue with a B name, the next person with a C name and so forth. If a player cannot give a name within a couple seconds during their turn, they are out of the game. Keep going until one player remains. This gets tricky after a few rounds, especially with Q, X and Z names!

Mad libs
Write a silly story about the parents-to-be and baby. Take out random words, then make a list for guests to replace the words you took out (without letting them hear the story first). Ask guests to write down a random noun, verb, pronoun, adjective, color, name, etc to match the missing words. Collect the guests answers, and read the story aloud, using the new words. These can get very funny, so you may want to keep the stories in your scrapbook after the party!

Memory tray game
Set out a tray of around 40 baby items (more or less if desired) in front of your guests for about a minute or two. Take the tray and items away, then have guests try to name (on paper) as many of the items as they can remember. Prize awarded to the person who remembered all, or the most, of the items.

Price is right
Have guests try to determine the actual store price of 10-15 baby products. Prize awarded for most correct guesses.

Mommy or Daddy?
Come up with a list of things that happened to either mom or dad-to-be (ie : broke their leg, had the measles, was on the debate team, had kermit the frog sheets) and have guests determine if each event happened to mom or dad. Prize awarded to the player with the most correct answers.

Songs/movies with baby
Give guests a time limit to name as many songs/movies with the word Baby in the title as possible.

Scattergories
Give guests a minute or two to name as many things in a certain category as possible (ie: 2 minutes to write down baby names beginning with C)

Baby football pool -
Instead of making bets on the point spread of the big game, have your guests bet a dollar on the date, time, birth weight and etc of baby-to-be's birth. After baby is born, the person who guessed correctly can be given a nice prize. Money collected is given to the parents-to-be or used on a gift for them.

I liked it too - just didn't really consider it a game...more like a ceremony or something, so I didn't include it. But we'll make it happen!

Time Capsule is actually another thing that doesn't feel as *much* like a game as the others. I'm going to go ahead and include Time Capsule on my list of games, but we could always do both the Time Capsule and beads of blessings separate from the games.

    Time Capsule
    Mommy or Daddy?
    Clothespin Game
    Bottle Races
    Feed the Baby

and add Guess the Gerber, if Time Capsule gets separated out with the beads thing as a keepsake ritual, rather than a game.
