So, my memory from looking at the schedule recalls Izzy at 11:30 AM in the Vaudeville tent on Sat AM.
Thank goodness Wood Bee camp is across from the Vaud, cuz after a Leftover Salmon late nite we'll bee crawling to the stage.

Later night redemption on Sunday as they CLOSE the Vaudeville tent!! 9:30pm!! If anyone remembers Turtle doing this time slot in 06, it was surely a doozy and is well remebered and celebrated. Thats when they wrote the song "Vaudeville"
Not that we expect Izabella to write a song called "The stage across from the wood bee" or anything ;) But wow that wood bee cool hehehehe

How about any more renegade sets planned? RV? Eh? Eh? WHOS IN FOR THE BEST FEST IN THE WEST?
We LOVE our Tortugas and our Bobo, but this is theeee music showcase so its time to show off to the masses!!!

On the road again....

Izabella’s five-week winter tour will kick off on Tuesday, February 17th at Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz, CA. Fresh from recording their third studio album (to be released this Spring) with Grammy winning sound engineer Oz Fritz, the band is raring to get back out on the road.

The tour includes four co-billed gigs with the Jammy nominated, San Francisco folk rockers Ten Mile Tide. These joint Coastal California dates are sure to jump start the tour and set a vibrant tone for the boys as they head north. After several stops in Oregon, Izabella will land in Bellingham, Washington to play with Flowmotion as a preview for their Summer Meltdown Festival in August. Other highlights include Izabella’s first headline show at the legendary Fox Theater in Boulder, Colorado; and for the funky folks in Boise, Idaho an Alice in Wonderland themed show.

Inspired by President Obama’s call to action, the band is also excited to have Conscious Alliance support all of the Colorado gigs. Conscious Alliance is a Boulder, Colorado based national 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to the redistribution of much needed food to the impoverished communities of the United States. For two of these five Colorado dates, Izabella will join forces with Denver-based progressive, electro- rock band Yamn. In 2008, both bands were named New Groove of the Month by Jambands.com.

Greetings everyone, we were going to try to slip by with this NYE as informal as possible, BUT enough people spoke up, and Paul of Great Basin, Shara and myself decided on a loose theme: "Retro-Formal"

Interpret as loose as you choose and choose not to use it at your own whims, but if whims come to bring it, then bring it big!

It's going to be a great NYE party, BTS and Izabella!
Tickets are $20 in advance at Great Basin or call Paul at 775-355-7711 with a credit card # to reserve tickets. Otherwise tickets are $25 at the door. I advise buying in advance cause this show can sell out.

Complimentary champagne at midnight.

For those out of towners that have not experienced the Sparks experience, come prepared; the bars never shut down and the party never ends, but if you need rest, the Silver Club provides cheap rooms two blocks away and the Nugget provides the next level up experience two blocks away as well.

Izzy Bella's Colorado

Im a bit late on posting a report from phantasytour.com SCI board about how well the show went with YAMN in Denver the other night! (last friday)

They won over many new fans and created a name for themselves and people are talking!!!

I think COlorado is overflowing with great grassy music and tons of quality electronica, but seem to be lacking in the Good Rock n Roll Psychedelic Style With NAtural Disco Twist department. Izzy seemed to be quite the antidote!!!
Hopefully more trendy markets will start hearing the fact that Izabella gives hope for the phrase Jam Band, and proves that heartfelt songs can still be fun and original and very danceable. :)

Private Homecoming Show this Saturday (10/25) in Grass Valley

Hey Folks,

We're super excited to be back home after 5+ weeks on the road. We hope you can join us during our homecoming weekend at a special event in Grass Valley.

The party is next Saturday, October 25th. A local band will open at 5pm, followed by two sets of Izabella and a DJ to round off the evening. On-site camping and carpooling are recommended. The suggested donation is $20 and includes all the beer you can drink. We are using the proceeds from ticket sales to help pay our legal fees from the situation we encountered in Arizona last May.

This is a guest list only event, due to limited space at the private residence. Please email lucascarlton@gmail.com to get on the list and receive more details about the location.

Tortugas Attendees, Evergreen Cabin and Camping Guests & Off-Site Campers and Guests:
We are excited to see you soon at the Evergreen Lodge for the third annual Las Tortugas Festival. We have put a tremendous amount of work into the festival so please read the information below that pertains to all festival attendees. It also has specific information depending on whether you are staying at Evergreen Lodge or off-site.
For all attendees:

TICKETING:
- You will pick up your wristbands on-site at Evergreen. If you are over 21, please bring your ID, to get a wristband to consume alcohol. You must be present to get your wristband. If not all members of your party are there, we will check in your later arriving members of your party when they arrive.
- If you are staying at Evergreen, you can park on-site though there is a two car maximum per cabin. Off-site guests camping in the area or staying elsewhere but driving in should park above the lodge and walk down as there will no parking next to the lodge.
- You must have an ID to get your ticket if it is in your name.
- Box office hours are on our website.
- Single day tickets are available at the event. Check our website for prices.

On-Site Amenities/Food/Drink (Specific food themes are on our website):

Food:
Breakfast Buffet: 9am-12:30pm. 7$/per person . Various goodies including biscuits and gravy & BACON!
Food Court: 12:30pm-9pm - BBQ, Salad Bar, Panini
Dinner Buffet: 5pm-9:30pm – Nightly Theme showcasing Evergreen’s amazing and talented kitchen. Menus posted. 14$/person
Late Night Grub: 10pm-1am- Falaffel, Gyros, Turkey Burgers, Chicago Dogs
General Store: 7am-midnight- pre made sandwiches, salads, quiche, burritos, ice cream, beer, chips, snacks, ice, glow-sticks, sundries, etc..

Tavern/Booze:
- 11am-2am – ten beers on tap, killer wine list, top shelf boozes, big screen for the games, drink specials, and of course, KILLER
MUSIC!
- We appreciate you respecting that NO PERSONAL ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED IN TAVERN and that doors shut at 2am.

Great Room/Rec Center:
- Cozy couches, games, free internet (limit your time please) and long distance phone service, fireplace, and recreation information
- Massages Available here. Chair massages 1$/per minute. Full Body massage $70/hour
- Bike Rentals. 10$/hour or 20$ for full day

Random Stuff For All to Know:
- Bring a flashlight as there will be no moon.
- Evergreen Road and all roads in Yosemite are federally patrolled. Obey speed limits. Evergreen Road is 25mph.
- No Dogs on-site. No exceptions.
- Please make sure that your wristband is visible with any costume you may create and wear.
- Be prepared for all types of weather.
- Please Carpool

OFF-SITE Campers, RV’ers, Locals:
- Please obey all signs on Evergreen Road near the lodge. There is no parking on the lodge side of the road for 200 yards above the lodge.
- Anyone parking on the side of Evergreen Road (where allowed) must be completely off of the road.
- There is NO TENT OR CAR CAMPING ALLOWED ON EVERGREEN ROAD within two hundred yards of the lodge.
- Please do not camp on Camp Mather property which is located below Evergreen Lodge on Evergreen Road
- Please cleanup all trash during and after your stay and DO NOT BUILD NEW FIREPITS. You must have a campfire permit to have a fire.
- Bears are very active. Please secure all food and coolers in cars. Never leave food and coolers unprotected.
- Showers are available in the Evergreen Bath house for $3.00. Please check-in and pay at front desk and help keep bath house clean.

Evergreen Cabin & Camping guests:
- Parking is limited on-site so cabin guests are limited to two cars per cabin. This will be enforced with parking stickers so please discuss in advance with cabin mates if you are in excess and plan accordingly. Other cars can be parked off-site after unloading.
- Please respect the no smoking/incense/candle rule in cabins or plan to pay a hefty cleaning fee. We recommend shutting deck doors to avoid smoke from drifting in and educate your guests so they don’t screw it up for you.
- Plan ahead for your cabin decorations and avoid tacks and pins and tape on paint.
- Campers arriving at night should be patient as you find a spot and unload. It is a big property with plenty of space for all. Bring a good flashlight and welcome your new neighbors!
- All guests should be BEAR SAFE. Do not leave coolers on decks, next to tents, etc..All food/coolers should be secured.

Thank You for Playing Ranchita Anyway, and Sorry They SUCK!

Izzabella rocked it, and we had a wonderful time hanging out with the bella boys Friday, of course. However, the festival was almost a complete failure.

The only thing that made it all worth it was Izzabella, Melvin Seals and JGB, and a few other bands that still played! The festival didn't have the money to cover their butts, and they screwed over the bands, the fans, and all the people working for them. Most of the bands didn't even play because they weren't getting paid.

The bands that did play were heroes!! Melvin Seals told us that the office could deal with that on Monday, he was there to play music. For the bigger bands, they will sue and get their money. The mid to low level bands got some great exposure (400 people starving to see some of the music they paid for, plus a little hero worship.) Thanks to these bands, I don't feel ripped off and we had a great time anyway.

Izzbella, we so appreciate you playing for us! We love you! Tons of people really enjoyed your sets, and you've got a lot of new fans down here.

Yankee this Saturday! (9/6)

The Yankee is a special place for many of the members of Izabella. We've been playing on Fritz's stage for nearly 6 years now in different configurations, and it's the place where we met our first sound engineer and good friend KC Taylor. Fritz even gave me a job serving burgers when I needed one last year!

It's been over a year and a half since we played this stage, and I can't wait to get back to the clubhouse. Come join us for a fun-filled evening following Power To The Peaceful in the park...

Izabella rocked it at Moe's!

It's official....I'm a huge fan! It took me a while to get around to finally seeing these guys and when I saw them open for BTS during the winter in Felton, I really liked them. But last night was something all together different....tighter, funkier, jammier. Definitely on the top of my fave list right now. It was great seeing Sean, Brian (I hope that's the right name!) and Lucas jamming with the 5EH boys during their set too. I told Derek and Jeb that it seemed like such a perfect pairing with these 2 bands.

So, the real question is, when will the Iza/5EH tour be announced? I want on!

Nice rockin it with those of you who were there. It was not a bad turn out at all for a Wednesday night!

Las Tortugas Dance of the Dead III, the annual Halloween soiree in Yosemite at Evergreen Lodge, is very pleased to announce some musical additions to an already stellar lineup. The additions include Tortugas veterans ALO, making a rare appearance in 2008. Joining ALO will be The Mother Hips, Trevor Garrod of Tea Leaf Green, Cornmeal, Flowmotion and Tracorum. These bands will be joining a bill that already includes Tea Leaf Green, Hot Buttered Rum, host band Blue Turtle Seduction, Melvin Seals’ JGB, Lebo, Guitarmageddon, and many other great bands and artists.

2-night Sacramento run finalized!!

We've confirmed another 2-night run in Sacramento on August 15th and 16th. For those of you that have been around a 2-night Izabella run then you know the craziness that will go down. For those of you that don't it's the biggest little secret. Sacramento has a really good scene and community that surrounds Izabella and we are excited to provide a great weekend of music. Look for our new stage design to be debuted at this festive event!

A summer night on Vashon Island proved that the community IS smaller than we all think. After loading in we starting talking with the other act on the bill and it turned out Lucas Carlton had performed with a couple of these guys in High School. As discussion continued we realized that the bass player from the band was dating Sean Lehe's cousin. The night with Damon Castillo Band (http://www.myspace.com/damoncastillo) not only blew our minds, but also knocked us off our feet! These guys are hot and will be a lovely start to the weekend so make sure you come out at 9pm sharp to check this solid unit out.

Saturday is when things get loose and the party explodes. Our great friends 5 Eyed Hand (www.fiveeyedhand.com) will ignite the fire with their playful artistry and impressive musical backgrounds. This summer has introduced 5 Eyed Hand and Izabella to the festival circuit and we're extremely excited to have these guys joining us in our hometown. Saturday is not to be missed so make sure you get drinks early and make it out to catch this Santa Cruz based quartet.

We're looking forward to an incredible weekend of music and celebration of life so join us for the weekend and check out some talented folks from Sacramento to San Luis Obispo. There will be horns present on Friday and a violin in the house on Saturday so look for some cross pollination. Get your $15 two-night pass early cause the place will get packed!

What a wild Friday the 13th in Denver! I had the luxury of being able to bounce back and forth between the Railroad Earth CD release and the Izabella show. I had an incredible night and I just want to say that for my dollar RRE is the best band in the scene right now. These guys are AMAZING people and they are studied musicians. I cannot say enough about the path that this group of people is paving. Oh and they throw a great after-party as well!!

The Izabella show was hot. They played a short first set and, but a long second set as they awaited the arrival of Tim Carbone. The guys put in a ton of preparation this time around and it payed dividends. The RRE show went late so Tim made it over for the tail end of our show. I was actually concerned that Tim was not going to be able to make it over before curfew so I went to the Ogden and told him "You may just want to stay here because you may only get one of two songs in.

Tim's response in his beautiful Jersey accent- "Fuck it! I'm going to play some fucking music!"

The owner of Dulcinea's, Jay Bianchi, pushed the curfew some and Tim sat in for three tunes. The shit was out of control. The music was freaking awesome and the place didn't have any dancing room. It was great to have a good group of people during the whole show- people that didn't go to the Ogden, but when the Ogden let out Dulcinea's was filled to the rim. The Izabella crew LOVES Tim Carbone and the whole Railroad family.

i was just in my car listening to the radio, and on comes stevie wonder's "king duke" (you can feel it all over, you can feel it all over baby....). great catchy tune w/ stevie's soulful vocals & lyrics.... i kept thinking that bella bella could kill this one if they covered it (well, and maybe if they had some horns sitting in). i dunno... something about the vibe of the song just screams izabella to me! actually, now that i think of it, they could probably do great covers of almost any stevie wonder song! do they cover any stevie yet???

We heard this place was going to be a madhouse even on a Monday and people were exactly accurate. A great crowd of 180 out on Monday night at Sancho's. The room is pretty small, but just like the other Bianchi venues, is littered with Dead memorabilia. It was good to meet some new friends and visit with some old ones. Alright folks Izabella needs your support! We're entered into the Mystic Theater Battle of the Bands and the winner will receive a headlining slot at the beautiful Mystic Theater in Petaluma. I do not know what time we play yet, but the Redwood Empire Food Bank is involved and fans are encouraged to bring canned food to donate.

Holy freaking Thursday night Bobolink. First of all Larry moved all the Thursday night festivities outside, which was a great move, and then the line-up was perfect. 5 Eyed Hand started things off nicely and then Izabella broke loose with 2 quality sets of music. I really got the feeling that this band needs to be on a bigger stage after this night. There were subtle things that need a little tightening, but these guys are freaking ripping it right now. Here's to June!!

The first set was solid with a good Heads Up to start things off and a great Wind Up, Wind Down, a Lehe instrumental. The Fire with The Fountain to follow was as dynamic as the two elements they represent. A sweet, but not explosive Bouncing to round out the set.

The second set started high and continued to elevate. A sick ass Egypt to get things going and then a Dark Cloud, Estimated, Highwire that blew the flood gates of Bobolink open! There was a need for flood gates this year as the rains came, but that didn't stop anyone from getting down. Oh yeah and CA does KNOW HOW TO PARTY!!

Izabella set us off on the right track with those lines the first night of Bobolink, this was a chant we needed to hear with the weather.
Every year I have songs that take on the soundtrack of my sentimental journey in Belden Town. Last year it was Heads Up, this year it was this song.

It was such a great dance and izzy sounded so great. New fans are wowed, which I think is going to help boost it all out there. The Pac NW crew we were with are like WTF have we been missing? So heres to the journey anew!

So awesome to spend time with you all.....Emily and friends were AMAZING in their flare and costumes!!! The sit ins and Tistryas sets were fabulous! Cant imagine Bobo without you all, and it was a great warm up to what we are all going to do to Mid Day High Sierra.

Two Izabella shows CANCELED this weekend

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Izabella had to cancel both shows this weekend. The Big Sur show was going to be too much travel with the show in Santa Barbara being at 2pm the next day. So we canceled the Big Sur show and then we found out on Monday that the show at the Fairview Gardens had to be canceled because of the lack of a sound permit.

The whole organization apologizes deeply for any issues this may have caused, but we will be in your area again and we hope that you can pass this information along to anyone that would find it necessary. Thank you

An afternoon concert from 2-6pm as a kick off fundraising event. The Oakland based band is on a western tour and is pleased to be able to help out the farm with our efforts towards the new Fairview (all buildings included). The band is described as playing psychedelic-soul and rock music. They are very family friendly and you can plan on getting your dancing feet moving for this one. Tickets are on sale for $12. We will have food and beverages for purchase as well. Call the farm office to purchase tickets.

Just a heads up that the Super Early Bird tickets prices for 4 Peaks Music Festival are ending on Thursday May 15th. That's just 2 days away.
Prices will jump from $64.50 to $76.50.

The SEB price of $64.50 includes car camping. RV passes are an additional $35.

Prices at the gate will be $98.

Izabella is slated for Saturday. Others include TLG, HBR, Zilla, Blue Turtle, PMW, Everyone Orchestra, Flowmotion and many more!

Blue Turtle Seduction and TerraFin Entertainment are honored to present the 3rd Annual “LAS TORTUGAS DANCE of the DEAD”. The event is located 100 yards from the Central Western Gate of the magnificent Yosemite National Park, at the Evergreen Lodge in Groveland, Ca.

This year’s artist lineup features an amazing array of artists with an emphasis from the exploding Northern California music scene. We are absolutely tickled to announce the following confirmed acts:
TEA LEAF GREEN, HOT BUTTERED RUM, Host Band BLUE TURTLE SEDUCTION, JGB Featuring MELVIN SEALS, LEBO FROM ALO (and more surprises), GUITARMAGEDDON, with more special headliners to be announced. I want to give mad kudos to these guys- Izabella is rocking the house night in and night out and I think this is the best week of shows we've had. I forgot to mention that the Sandpoint show on Tuesday (yeah Tuesday) was hot and packed. The drums from that night was freaking sick! They didn't slow down from there- each night got better and we had really good crowds. Tonight was in such a cool room- the sound was great and the lighting was awesome. Many people have graced the Knotty Pine and Izabella definitely put a stamp on the room. The Egypt from tonight was killer and the whole second set was rippin!

Montana knows how to party!!

Another great gig in Montana! This place rocks- the folks are kind, love to get their boogie on, and the vibe is great. The Zebra Cocktail Lounge brought an interesting mix of cool folks and the sophisticated college peeps, but the house was jumping! The place started out a little light, but definitely picked up as the night progressed- a late crowd for sure. By the end of the night there were 200 people getting down with the guys. A huge thanks to our new friends Nick and Sam who threw down all night and then put us up in their beautiful place on a hill in Bozeman.

So I would have to say that the Island of Vashon is pretty crazy. We had great hospitality from our new friend Dave and the venue was really nice. Izabella threw down as they have been doing this whole trip no matter how many people are in the house. The turnout was good on Vashon- I hear when good music comes through the folks come out. We even had some good friends come over from Seattle, which was a treat, and Kim and Mike brought us vegan "Cherry Garcia Oatmeal" cookies!! They were freaking awesome!

There was also some weird "small world" things that happened to. The band that played first was Damon Castillo Band and they were from San Luis Obispo, Lucas' home. Lucas had actually played music with two of them at different points around high school and even weirder the bass player is dating Sean Lehe's cousin! Pretty crazy night

Talk about a schwippy one in Tahoe!

A rippin way to start the trip!! This show took a bit to get off the ground with all the other music going on in Tahoe. The first set was short and to the point giving folks the chance to check out the end of Yonder and Greensky. Izabella started the second set just prior to Greensky finishing and it worked perfectly. The second set got packed and the guys freaking threw down until 3:30AM! Looking forward to a month of gigs and then Bobolink when we return!!

Covelo on April 25th!! This shiznit was HOT!

So I'm not sure that I've figured this Covelo thing out, but one thing I do know is that Covelo loves Izabella! Covelo is off the Hwy 101 about an hour and there is only one road in. The town is building a new Library Commons and it seems they need something to revive the small community that once had deep Indian history. The folks of Covelo are raising $2.5 million to create a space where people can go to hang out, grab a book, share stories with one another, or enjoy any of the simple amenities that you and I are accustomed to.

Izabella helped with their fund raising efforts by playing a sick ass show this past Friday, which brought in over $2000 towards their goal. Izabella threw down for the Covelo locals and the THREE sets were incredible. A barn on Lew and Ginny's property was the setting and John's lights looked awesome. Thanks to Covelo for the great night!

On June 13th Izabella will be playing an after-party to the Railroad Earth CD release at Dulcinea's and we will have Tim Carbone joining us. Railroad Earth is ripping up the scene right now, playing many of the big summer festivals, and they are releasing Amen Corner at The Ogden Theater on June 13th and 14th. The guys in Izabella will be honored to share the stage with the incredible fiddle player from one of the deepest bands around right now.

I'm not too sure how long the jambands contest runs, but I would imagine we have about 10 daze to really a make a push. I think a good goal for all of us is to get these guys into the top 5! It would be an incredible push and give us the confidence that, if we know at the beginning of the month, we'll come out on top. The great part is we all know in our hearts we are THE new groove. Hot Izabella show at The Starry Plough

What a weekend of music in San Francisco. Wouldn't it be nice to play in a band that never has a drummer and call up Fishman and say "hey man you want to come sit in with us at the Warfield?" The music in the park today is going to be great and I heard them Turtles crushed Mojito's on Friday night- packed to the gills! I would like to add to the list of awesome music that went down with Izabella's Starry Plough throw down. The place was jumping and the tweener act Brasshopper, a full horn section, sat in with us at different times.

I was stoked for the guys last weekend to play two nights in one venue and not repeat a song- big kudos. The sets continue to get hotter and tonight was a gem. I thought the first set was great and really got off the ground quick. A lovely Marvin Gaye tune to open the night with our saxophone friend Jamison Smeltz created the perfect groove for folks to get going. ITW, Zen Dance, Heads Up was killer as Sean went into guitar bliss and Sam laid it down on keys. I'm digging Zen Dance, a Phelps original they just busted out last weekend.

The second set didn't slow AT ALL. They opened with The Fountain, a Lehe tune they debuted last week as well, and that shit is HOT! I mean I may be biased to a certain degree, but this shit is BIG STAGE material. It's got that mind blowing Highwire feel with more dynamics and sophistication. The SMS, Egypt, This House went there and with a full horn section on This House how are you gonna go wrong? A beautiful, yet rocky, Lazy River Road to end the set sent you with that warm fuzzy feeling that we appreciate so much.
