Re: Bootcamp DVDs
Tue, November 20, 2007 - 10:04 AMShe had a blog post elsewhere that she was dissatisfied with the music, so they're working on it again from scratch. Said she's a perfectionist and she'd rather it turns out really well even if it takes a little longer.
I want them too, though! :Þ -

Tue, November 20, 2007 - 1:10 PMI think her hubby is creating the music for her since she was having issues about it. It should be awesome!

Wed, November 21, 2007 - 6:43 AMShe's going to be in another video series of someone special, but I can't say whose, because it might be a secret, but I think that's it. You can see lots of stuff she's done on youtube, though. -

Re: Bootcamp DVDs
Thu, November 29, 2007 - 10:36 AMOK, here's the official word:
Bootcamp--yes, bootcamp is still on the burner, however the sound quality of the music in the initial recording wasn't up to snuff, so we planned to redo it. As we started to use the drum track we had recorded for our practicing and in class, I realized that any students who are really tied to the music for their memorization had almost no cues so I feel it is imperative to have the music composed to go with the changes in the drills. Unfortunately, this just hasn't happened yet. I am in the midst of trying to entice some musician buddies of mine from Denver, and they have expressed interest, however, they are in the middle of getting ready for their CD release and I am...well...look at my schedule. *grin* I'm not in CO much until the middle of Dec. So...once our lives settle down, hopefully that will start to come together. If you guys think you're ancy for the Bootcamp to come out, try being on this end of it--or one of my local students who have been waiting for quite a few years since I first started teaching it! Heeee! I have to keep on reminding myself that when it is meant to be, all the pieces will come together if I just keep on working on it, a bit at a time...patience grasshopper. (I'm saying that mostly to myself...hahah!)
I also have some other friends working on original music as well, in addition to my husband constantly going through stages of getting inspired, so I think there is some cool new stuff to dance to coming up in the future. *rubbing hands together in excitement*
As far as DVDs I'm on:
Temptation of Belly Dance - you can order it from my website
IAMED Belly Dance O Rama 2 & 3 also on my website
IAMED 007 (This Is Belly Dance) - just released, this will soon be up on my website for purchase
In production: Jewels of the Orient, Viktoriya's show in Salt Lake City that we just filmed two weeks ago, also with Nalini & DaVid.
Neon's new DVD series Fantasy Belly Dance which I will be flying out tomorrow for the filming. This is an instructional series showcasing storytelling and theatrical/character elements in the dance. I will be doing Warrior Princess for the "You Are Lightning" DVD--a sword choreography to Solace's "Circle." I think the other two dancers on this DVD will be Ariella & Autumn Ward. Wahoo!
So that's it for now!

And -- I finally got to hear you speak! Ooooh, you sound *so serious.* ;) Those routines look really cool, too. I definintely need something like that; something a little different -- something with some _power_ to it. >:^ ] ::tryin' not to giggle::

Tue, February 12, 2008 - 12:28 PMOkay, I'm not an impulse buyer, but I did pre-order the Fantasy DVD and noticed that the songs used are available at iTunes. I listened, and purchased two of the songs.
Ain't the internet grand? :) -

Re: Bootcamp DVDs
Sat, February 16, 2008 - 10:14 AMRight on! Hahaha! And yeah...serious. *eyebrow* I can totally be serious--and it does happen quite often or else I would never get anything done. Naturally, part of what you're seeing is my massive amounts of nervousness too. I'd never done an official instructional DVD before. The intro was the very first thing we shot, and for me, speaking in any sort of organized, coherent fashion is TERRIFYING!!!!! But they made it so easy and really kept me relaxed through the whole process. I loved working with them and I love how the DVD turned out--and that is a great feat in itself, because I usually despise hearing myself speak. Heh--you do get to hear some of my infamous sound effects during the instructional part. *big cheesey grin* What a fun project! And 3 different choreographies in one??? I am so excited to get the whole series! -

Re: Bootcamp DVDs
Sat, February 16, 2008 - 1:37 PMI took public speaking classes periodically, from high school to college. I'm never very afraid to do it, but unfortunately my voice isn't very strong and it gives out quickly (I go hoarse). I probably should've taken singing lessons instead since they teach you to use your voice from your diaphragm instead of just your throat.
Just imagine everyone else in their skivvies. ;) That does make it easier.
I can't wait to see the whole DVD. :)

Re: Bootcamp DVDs
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 7:53 AMActually yes...there are updates. *siiiiiiigh* I am back to the determination to film these myself. When it comes to bigger production, there are understandable logistical problems. I may be doing a 1-disk, semi-rendition, compilation of the 3 on a larger scale for mass consumption. But I am very attached to the way the drills work in their full format, which means home production so we get the darn things out there. My problemos with the sound are going to be solved by hiring my ex to record the zills ala carte, seeing how expensive the royalties are for the original music or else getting happy with myself on Garage Band (just got a new Mac for for myself Xmas) and now that I've done an instructional video with people who know what they're doing, I won't be so stressed about the talking part. Now I know how to work it to get the filming done fast, without having to be perfect and re-do all the time, and from our first filming of it, we really got some good ideas on how to film an entire group "not messing up." Hahahah!
So.
There will be some other posts as to what is on the burner before this. ARRRRG. Things like moving, overhauling my entire life...um...yeah. Alas. I soooo want these things done, but I have been talking to a bunch of people all year, and my new experiences have given me a really great idea of how to do this in a reasonably short period of time. Now I just need to clear my burners. Hmmm...anyone know how to clone one's self along with one's money? Hmmmmmm...heeeee!
Thank you all for your patience. I HATE being wishy-washy. It drives me nuts.
Speaking of...on a more positive note, here is a joke I just thought of:
A pirate walks into a bar. The barkeep's eyes widen as he sees him and he says, "Why sir, do you realize that you have a steering wheel sticking out of your pants?" The pirate replies, "ARRRG, it's drivin' me nuts."
*ducking all the thrown objects* -

You're moving?? Somewhere in Colorado?
Sounds like a lot of work to get it all together, and you're one busy bee! I wish there was something I could do to help, but I don't mean that in an impatient sort of way. :)
Nice to see you back here, and good luck with everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ::hugs::

I've been working on this for a while - can't quite seem to get it, though.
Thanks for the update - sounds like you've definitely got your hands full. In the meantime, I'll work on the sword choreo. Love it!

ARRRGHH.. you know, whenever I hear *anyone* say "that's drivin' me nuts!" I always reply "sounds very different with an Irish accent!"... even say it for them... well, at least one of us ends up laughing from it! (hint: not usually them) :-)
A pirate walks into a bar with a paper towel on his head. The barkeep turns to him and says, "Why sir, do you realize that you have a paper towel on your head?" The pirate replies, "ARRRGG, there be a Bounty on me Head."
