CoCo says Cooner is very ill. We all need to drop what we're doin' and say some prayers for him. We need to ask that his health be restored and that he will live a long and healthy life. And other stuff like that. We need to do this. Seriously.

Re: Prayers for Cooner
Sun, May 17, 2009 - 8:12 PMThank you everyone for thinking of Cooner. I am also sending my thoughts and prayers to the sweet hound dog.. He is a super cute guy who likes to sit on your lap and wipe his mouth on your furniture after eating. I'll be sure and tell Coco about this thread, she will appreciate it greatly.. -

Mon, May 18, 2009 - 7:45 AMThanks everyone, the last round of test came back negative, so on to the next round. I have two vets working on his case and they are working with an internest in So. California. He is in good hands, just wish he we could find out what is wrong so he would be himself again. I will pass on all the loves to Cooner and keep you all posted. -

Re: Prayers for Cooner
Mon, May 18, 2009 - 3:28 PMUpdate~
Sooooo, Cooner the Crafty Hound has everyone stumped. He could be in early stages of Liver or Kidney failure, but his blood work is normal so to find out, we would be looking at $800-$1000 worth of more indepth tests-labs, ct scans, ultra sounds, ect. The other supspects are Psyco Polydipsia (Where they are obsessed with drinking water) or diabetes insipidis. The test for this is dehydrating him to a dangerous point. So we are going to try doggy prozac to see if this calms him panting and pacing down and we already lowered his tyroid meds, they were to high, but has too much fat in his blood, so he is presenting as a hypo and hyper thyroid dog. So that is why we are trying this simple thing first. -

Re: Prayers for Cooner
Mon, May 18, 2009 - 6:44 PMPoor sweetie.
One of my dogs in on thyroid meds, and too much or too little can cause all kinds of odd symptoms.
The thyroid adjustment alone could be enough to get him back on track. And Prozac is always a good thing!
My love and prayers are with you guys.
Feel better, Cooner, and stop scarin' your mom! -
