Over the last few months, Ali and I have been trying very hard to stream-line our possessions. We have been sorting clothes, getting rid of things of which we have two (or more), going through the random boxes we have under the stairs and in storage to find those things we haven't looked at, much less used, in years. All of this is to further our desire to move to Santa Rosa, California this up coming autumn so Ali can attend school in January. The less stuff we have to move, the easier it will be to do so.
To further this idea, we aren't asking for anything for our wedding. Our kitchen is wonderfully stocked, our bedroom is overflowing with stuff, our living and dining rooms are very comfortable already. We also realize that simply making it to the wedding is a huge pain in the butt, what with missing work, driving hundreds of miles, finding accommodations, etc. So, please, don't buy us anything. We don't need anything and really don't have room for anything, anyways.
We will, however, be accepting donations for Ali to go to school in January. It's only for one year, but it is a private school, so its probably going to come to a little over $7000. When she's done, she'll be a licensed service dog trainer (something she is in love with being). This is not an insurmountable sum, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
The day of the wedding, we also will be having a potluck-ish buffet-type thing (big table, lots of food, yum yum), so please feel free to bring a donation of food or beverage.
Above and apart from all of that, the most important thing to keep in mind is that we want YOU there! We hope that we will see all of our family and friends there. We could ask for no better gift than your presence.

Wed, July 1, 2009 - 12:22 PMDon't get you ANYTHING?
I guess I'll leave that bottle of Makers and two pounds of thick-cut pepper bacon at home then. It would only result in greasy fingers and drunken stupidity anyway. I'm glad my presence on playa is sufficient for your happiness...
