I was wondering what postal service you use to ship to the UK?
Apparently mine have been despatched minus a tracking number so I want to know how long I should allow before I start worrying.
I hope they don't get lost...non-tracked postage to the UK is a bit infamous. :o/

Re: International postage
Mon, June 25, 2007 - 5:23 PMYeah, it can take a bit. I don't know why, but we can't get tracking #'s on regular PMS, or PSE, or whatever used to be called GPM.
I've had hellacious results to Spain, also - get there fine, but it can take a month it seems to clear their customs.

Re: International postage
Mon, June 25, 2007 - 6:45 PMHi Lucy! I know when I've ordered things from overseas (specifically England), I've waited anywhere from 10 - 21 days. Most parcels I've received around the 12 day mark though (the 21 day item was a letter. -

Re: International postage
Tue, June 26, 2007 - 1:03 AMHi Lucy
I've had to wait anything up to 4 weeks for mine. It all depends if customs want to be nosey or not and want to charge you import tax.
I start to get twitchy around the 3 1/2 week mark and then usually whatever I have ordered arrives.
Its mad. Somethings take 7 days some things take 4 weeks! -

Re: International postage
Tue, June 26, 2007 - 2:27 AMI've had loads of stuff delivered from the States before but I don't know what type of postage has been used so I don't know how long to give it before I worry (I'm great at worrying, I do it a lot). Airmail should be quicker than surface mail, but like you say, things vary so much :o/
I just hope my postie doesn't leave them outside the back door like he did with my other half's parcel yesterday, all the rain would ruin them :o(
*worries*
Thanks for the advice everyone :o)

Re: International postage
Tue, June 26, 2007 - 2:29 AMOoo god, import duty, almost forgot about that. I hate it, it seems so unfair. I asked Jenna to tick the 'gift' box but I dunno if she received the email.
It sucks that you have to pay it for stuff that you literally just _can't_ buy in the UK, like sexy silk fans for example. -

Re: International postage
Tue, June 26, 2007 - 3:02 AMI know I got stung recently lucy and I ended up paying more tax than the item was worth!
I had an email from Jenna saying that she always marks parcels to UK as a gift as a matter of course so I dont think either of us have to worry!
I know what you mean though.
You either cant get the stuff over here or if you can its exhorbitant!
Cant wait for my fans to arrive either! -

Tue, June 26, 2007 - 6:10 AMI've 'friended' you, would be great to see your fan photos when they arrive!
I'm a bit nervous that the colours I've chosen won't work together but we'll see!
all very exciting. -

Re: International postage
Tue, June 26, 2007 - 6:43 AMI've dibsed the Griffindor ones (I got to have a fan off with Jenny as she got Slytherin ones!)
They are maroon and yellow. Tend to use a lot of burgundys and maroons>
What colours did you choose in the end?
