Pittsburgh Gallery Closing Show

The final date of the Metamorphasis show will be on Saturday April 26th starting at 1pm. Directions and additional info listed in the photo section. Special dance will be performed by Jennifer Imashev (often seen as a special guest of Zafira).

Can't wait to see you all out there for the final date/party

Swabere's Cross Country tour

I have to say I really enjoyed getting out to Michigan to meet and shoot all my new friends. I think I had 8 shoots in the three days I was there, some very professional...some a little wild (you know who you are). I have been going through my calendar and I am trying to decide where I should travel to next. So far I am due out to Cali in June, but the rest of my shoots are for New Jersey, NY & PA.

So my question to you all is...Where to next? Anyone have any desire to host a mini shoot event? Anyone already hosting an event they think they might be able to use me ( go ahead and use me...I don't mind)? Let me know! Speak up!

Coming to Pittsburgh April 4th

Looks as if I have a new Gallery show!

This one will be on April 4th 7pm at "Metamorphose" on Penn avenue in Pittsburgh, PA. I don't have all the details yet, but if all goes well it should be a decent party. My work will be on display for the entire month and hopefully we will have a closing night party. If all goes as planned I will have some amazing dancers, good food and drink and (duh) my photography.

So far I have Jennifer (Zafira) & Sapata doing a duet and Melanie (Kassar) on the bill. Hopefully I will have a few more surprises :)

I will post more information and changes as they happen!

In an attempt to better organize all the email requests I have been getting I am putting up a small survey form here.
THIS IS NOT A COMMITMENT!!!!
This is just an informal survey that I can help schedule my travels. If I am available for any of the dates listed I will contact the people and let them know of my availability. Photo Concept of the Week

Wow, we have a lot of photographers AND beauitful people here on this tribe (some are even both). I would love to have a weekly concept shoot. This is for anyone who wants to take or be in a picture. I can name a theme for the week and everyone can submit their image. I can post all the contestants on a web page so everyone can view and vote on their favorite. The themes will be simple and you could do any interpretation you want of that theme. Lets keep the creative juices flowing!

My photo shoot adventure

With much counseling from my shrink, I think I can tell of my photo shoot.
It went great, we had fun and with some *cough* encouragement we manage to get into the mood for the shoot.

John treated us like the best pieces of meat you could buy in old soviet Russia. With his kind words we found the way to express our selves so that we would come out looking simply cool in these photos. One of our troupe members was a little shy when it came to some mood photos so he took special care to make sure she felt comfortable...by kicking us out of the room.
The final shot of the night could only be described as interesting. He had us all on the ground writhing and moving our arms so that it created a masssive shadow effect that could only be described as some sort of Lovecraftian horror on fire.

So trust me kids, John is a real straight shooter who likes to get you the best pics around.

So tell me, what kind of lens collection are you shooting with these days? I recently added a few pieces of glass to my own lineup, and can't wait to really break them out.

I seem to recall you have the Canon EOS 5D, right?

Currently, I am shooting with:
EF 50mm f/1.4
EF 35mm f/1.4L
EF135mm f/2L
EF100mm f/2.8 (the OLD model)
EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS
EF17-40mm f/4L (plans to replace with the 16-35mm f/2.8L )

I'm also curious about your lighting system, strobes?? Good flash?

I will need enough to cover travel and lodging. Most places 3 scheduled shoots will cover my expenses.
