Happy New Year all!!!

Well, this is the last year, and I hope to buy my plane tickets sometime this month, Feb. latest. The past two years, I have gone Thursday through Monday, with the bulk of my travel taking place on Thur. and Mon. so I had all three days to be at the festival. Does anyone have any plans to be in the area earlier this year (Mon. Tue. Wed.), maybe camp at or near Casey's or another state park close by? I thought there might be more time to spend with folks outside of JT if it was planned well enough in advance.

Anyone?

mon, tues, wed? why not come out to Oregon and start on friday instead of monday. You can catch two festivals. The fun is exponentially better by attending both. Ask CJ. He's a King of fun. Kings don't lie. You can carpool with folks from Portland to In-Didj-In-Us, then down to JT, and back out to the airport. Turn it into all-friends-all-the-time, because that's the way of the future (fortunately taking the place of plastic).
    AUM.

And Chad is a King of all things didjy, wacky, zany, and mustached! And seeing as he is a King as well, HE AIN'T LYIN!!! Both festivals highly recommended. Savor the flavor and get yourself a big ol' honkin bite of In-didj-in-us to go with that Jammin' tree sandwich. The fun is, I must say, indubitably unparalleled. I recommend that any party holding their attendance to In-didj-in-us in question reach deep into their soul and viciously trounce any aversion they may find to participation in said event.

Hey CC....we'll be going early & staying late....as usual......slave laborers hafta report for duty early and then they don't take off the chains until a few days after;-)
But, ya might wanna cross post this to the other tribe and forums, since this one spends so much time under "emergency repairs."

This one may be down alot, but I had issue with the other tribe site, permanently banned for spam from my home and work IP addresses... I have no idea what the issue is, but that site had so many changes in the past year I'm kinda disappointed.

Email was sent to the forum administrator last week to see if I can clear up the issue, no response as yet.

I plan to go early and stay late at Indidjinus, then early and late to the North Fork JT........ I'm still working out my arrangements for a place to stay near Jammin Tree early.

I usually help arrange a set up and take down crew for the JT Fest.
I slacked a little last year, but this year I think we should all really pull together and show our appreciation for all the years T&G have made this happen.

It doesn't matter if you are a first timer or an old hand, now is the time to step up and really show that we can truely manifest the reality that we want :)

Here is a list of major tasks, labor and equipment that is done by volunteers:

Pickups, trailers, vans, cars, etc to haul the stage, workshop canopies, and other fest items from the storage location about 30 minutes from the site. This happens on Thursday.
People who are willing and able to load and set up the stage, backdrops, workshop canopies and other general fest items. Also on Thursday.
Check and empty trash cans through out the fest area on a twice daily basis. All fest.
Help stringing electrical cords, lights and stuff to the vendors. Thursday/Friday morning.

And of course, after the fest is over, we need to take the whole thing down and haul it all back, Monday.

I know this seems like a lot, but this is what it takes.
If we have enough hands, each volunteer should only need to work about 4 hours to set up, and 4 hours to take down.
Of course, even an hour helps.....

So some of you beautiful people, who understand the concept of positive work as a form of karmic meditation.....

Get in contact with me and lets make this happen in the best possible way it can :)
    namaste,
    robert

HHmmm..... I guess I should probably add an additional note to my post above regarding fest volunteers.

Just to be clear on this, Trish and Grahm are the people who ultimately have the say on all volunteers and how or if they may be compensated for their time.
I am just another volunteer, and I do not represent the fest.

Having said that, I look forward to your offers of assistance working with me making this fest a great one :)
      namaste,
      robert

Hey Robert... I think it is safe to say you can count Rob and I (and any folks we bring with) to help out. It would be an honor...

        peace-

Cool, that is great to hear Lisa :)

You and Rob have contributed so much to the fest in the past, in so many ways........
I'm Remembering.... I know you folks have helped many times......but was it the first year that the fest moved from S Calif in the desert to the new location at North Fork....... that you and your group pretty much set up the stage by yourselvs?
And worked all day and finished about 9 PM the day before the fest started?
After hauling stuff from the fest storage?
While we tried to find a trailer for the big stuff, and then fix the other site issues.........
And then after the fest you and Rob hauled stuff back to storage before loading your trailer with your own gear for your return trip to AZ?

          Whew!

Good times, and time well spent.
Indeed, the honor is mine. :)
          peace and respect,
          robert

Ok, we now have the beginnings of a volunteer crew :)
I plan to spend at least Wednesday night in the area.

It would be great if some of the volunteers could get together Wednesday night or 1st thing Thursday morning and caravan with vehicals and helping hands and haul everything from the storage to the fest........ get the set up done and have plenty of time to play.......

Like CC said, maybe take over a camp site nearby.... there are areas at Bass Lake that might be suitable for a pre-fest group camp........
If anyone else is interested, post here or message me....... many hands make for short work.....
            peace,
            robert

I really hope to go at all but even this early in the game it's not looking likely. Not unless I sell a bunch didgeridoos before then. Ha! Anyhow, I will do my best and who knows if I do get to go, I will help out in whatever way I can. It would be awesome to at least get in on the last JT. Yaaaaay!

We consider it a privilege to contribute our time to helping manifest this amazing fest.. G&T have done so much for the community by planning and bringing it to fruition for the last 10 years, the least we can do is spend a few hours helping. The friends (family, really) we have made by participating fully in this with you and the rest of the clan - and the joy it has brought to our lives - is immediately measurable.

Lol, yes, we did do that whole thing by ourselves, didn't we? What a cool sense of satisfaction after hours in the dark setting up the stage to climb up the hill, sit in a chair and look down on the soft glow of it all with you.

            Namaste brother!

The kids and I, plus probably 1 more 13 year-old boy, are tentatively planning to roll into the area on Wednesday as well. We are all VERY eager to step right up and help do what needs to be done Wed night/Thursday/ throughout the festival! Besides, that's extra time we can all spend together. Count the Monti Clan in! I like the idea of camping at Bass lake or some such place. Has anyone looked in to some kind of large group site there yet, or shall I?
Can't wait to see you all!

Sounds cool, if you get a spot at bass lake I'll chip in. Just tell me what loop.

SO, Robert and I have consorted and schemed and have reserved a group campsite at Bass Lake for the night of Wednesday August 12. Space is somewhat limited, so let Robert or I know as soon as you can (either through Tribe or our individual emails if you have them) and we'll include you (and your vehicle) in the head count. We can then send you details as to exactly where, when, etc.
Sound good? Sounds like much fun to me!

Great, so the ball is rolling....
I plan to be at the storage location in Oakhurst about 9AM Wed.... I'll load one load so we have something to start with first thing Thursday Morning......
yuk, that means Bakersfield and Fresno traffic durin rush hour :( oh well, not so bad for most people but for me my usual daily commuter rush traffic means 2 dogs, a couple of farm tractors and maybe a red neck nut in a monster truck going 75 in a 55 zone...... I hate freeways.....
Hey SJ, Margot and I will consort and scheme a way for you to get from the airport to the camp site ;)
            peace,
            robert

              FWIW,
I just wanted to add something.....
If I make working at the DidgeFest sound like drudgery.... that's just me. I work, and organize work, and I tend to get a little work-like brain set.

The truth is, this is really cool work,.......like Lisa said,......at the end of the day you look at the stage, with the performers and all the emotion and good vibes happening and you can say to your self "yeah, I helped make that happen"

The same thing is true for helping at the fest in Oregon, Indidjinus.....

Money can't buy that feeling, it has to come from the heart, and it's priceless:)
love ya all, see ya there,
              robert
