next years fest already booking up!

topic posted Thu, September 13, 2007 - 7:59 AM by  chad
I can't believe my workshop is already filling up. They've never posted workshops or anything this early before but I think it's a good sign. Maybe my price is just too low, maybe I need to do more than one, maybe it's just a workshop that is long overdue.

Hey I'm doing a workshop on "food damage," so y'all can be better prepared for Chad's workshop. Bring bananas, chips and any foods that can be bruised or broken to learn the latest techniques in damaging food prior to repairing food...steel toed boots and hard hats recommended...;-)

Any chance we can get Gallagher as a guest food damager for the workshop? :)

Hey, that would be cool. Covered in watermelon guts with no chance of a shower before crashing in the tent! Yeah.

Seriously... it would be fun to have a comedic act on stage! Hey Clarinetcat, maybe you could do a whole routine on dropping stuff on stage! Could be a fun gimmick!!!

            HaHaHa :-)

How the hell did I miss this post from September?!?!

Me dropping stuff on stage, eh? Fun gimmick... it needs a catchy name, though.
              Maybe something like...

              Cat's drop n' flop.
              Cat and the Gang's wham-klang-klang
Rock, Rock, 'til you drop (Any Def Leppard fans out there?)
              The Klangalator
              Drop by and stay awhile
              Wham, Bam, thank you Ma'am
              Ooops! I dropped my soap!

I may even write a short "How To" book:

"How to destroy a perfectly good performance in three easy steps"
              1) Drop an item on stage, drawing unwanted attention to yourself
              2) Attempt to pick up dropped item, drawing even more unwanted attention to yourself
              3) Try to act nonchalant about the whole incident, even thoug paranoia has begun to set in and you are positive the entire audience sees you naked on the stage, which utterly destroys your concentration level and overall ability to perform. Mission accomplished.

You'd better be laughing, Allan. Self-depreciating humor is my speciality. :-)

Ha Ha!!! This could be your new "thing". Instead of playing the instruments, just randomly drop them. You'll be a huge hit on stage. Everyone will wonder "what will he drop next, where will it fall, will he try to pick it up".

                :-)

How fresh does the food have to be, Chad?

I have a bunch of potatoes that have been sitting under my sink for several years, awaiting just such an event!
They smell kinda bad, but I have faith in you.

I put my banana in the mail box today.
Of course, it's Las Vegas, and it won't be picked up until Monday morning, so it'll be interesting to see what you can do with a cooked banana.

An educational experience for all, I'm sure!

    But please, Chad...

    NEVER KILL AN APE!!!

    Love
    Jay

Jay, cooked bananas can be used in several dishes. This is the point- there are always more solutions than problems.
