Good to see you Anna and Desna and thanks Rita for keeping me awake on the journey home.
Good AGM I think but a little disappointed not to see more people I knew there but I'll catch up with lots of you at Ford perhaps?
Anyway, I think people perhaps feel the AGM is going to be boring and so I'm posting to let everyone know (this was my first AGM for NADA) that nothing could be further from the truth. Business was dealt with in the way that bellydancers would deal with business - with humour and fun and there was no bullying to get involved at all (which was one of the things I was wary of). Contributions from the floor were also taken on by the committee. After this short meeting we then had two workshops - one on Saiidi with a modern twist and later a veil workshop - using one, two and then three veils. Wonderful technique shared by Marie Jenson (the teacher for both workshops - from Denmark currently living in Newcastle). She was an inspiration and a joy to watch dancing later at the showcase - which was also a chance to dance and learn some israeli line and circle dancing too!

Hi Jessica - yes, the AGM was really good fun - I really enjoyed it.

The whisper is that next year's will be in Cumbria....

Perhaps we also ought to suggest to Anna that NADA get a tribe...? I'm not really a facebook/myspace sorta person...
