Voluntters needed for Story Coprs

topic posted Sun, November 13, 2005 - 10:59 PM by
Greetings! NPR's StoryCorps' Winnebago has landed in SanFran, and KALW (along with KQED) are sponsoring their visit, now through November 27. If you don't know what StoryCorps is all about, here's the NPR link:

www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php

What that means as far as KALW is concerned is that we get lots of great publicity, we'll air some fascinating local stories, and we'll have a great opportunity to hobnob and network with some terrific radio producers.

We need volunteers to answer questions from the general public who show up at the StoryCorps trailer (you'll be provided with a FAQ sheet). We'll have some KALW program guides, and you will wax philosophic about how wonderful we are. While all the recording slots are filled at this point, that may change as the days wear on; instructions for contributing stories via borrowing StoryCorps equipment will be available on site.

We're looking for people to fill the timeslots listed below (2-3 hour shifts if at all possible). Kindly REPLY to this email (or to david@davidlatulippe.com if this has been forwarded to you)with the date, time, and your name in the SUBJECT line. [e.g.: Subject: 11/15 11:30-3:30 Robert Volunteer}]

The StoryCorps trailer is parked next to the Carousel at the ZEUM at 4th and Howard (www.zeum.org for more detailed info).
