&lt;br/&gt;Total 2.5 To remain in balance, you simply must intake 2.5 liters of fluid a day. When your body is dehydrated, the first signs are headaches and fatigue.. To make matters worse, your body will draw the water from other sources such as the colon, which provides some extra water, but leaves you constipated. Does any of this ring true for you? I also used to think the water in coffee, soda, beer, etc, would count as part of my water intake. Packaged drinks are made using distilled water. The more distilled water a person drinks, the more acidic the body becomes. The drinks themselves are diuretics and will only make you more dehydrated by flushing water from your system. Drinking more and better quality water is the key. Carbonated and distilled water are both acidic and are the wrong kinds of water.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;If you are not having to use the restroom frequently — to the point — where it becomes annoying, then you aren’t hydrated. Your urine should also be clear to dilute the toxins being flushed from your system.2. Free Radicals. We’ve all heard about free radicals and the damage they can do. Unstable atoms that bounce around inside our bodies, they destroy healthy cells as they search for 2 more electrons. Free radicals have an oxidizing effect on the body and the billion dollar anti-oxidant market exists solely to try and curb some of the damage they do. We know they account for 70% of diseases such as cancer and diabetes and help to accelerate the aging process.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Free radicals come from everything we ingest - foods, drinks, smoking, alcohol and pollution. In fact, 2% of every breath you take ends up as free radicals, which blows out to 20% during heavy exercise. (Pun intended!) At times of rest, our bodies can handle the load to some extent, but in times of stress and fatigue, the body just can’t keep up. Getting rid of these oxidizing free radicals is key to being healthy.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;You know what the top selling medication is in the US? Antacid. We are an acidic nation and acidosis is simply the name for having an acidic body caused by diet and lifestyle.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Probably the most acidic food is any cooked meat, followed by simple sugars, processed dairy, coffee and alcohol. But they are also the staples of most diets. The alkaline foods such as fruits, vegetables and nuts and high pH water are not the staples of most diets. Over acid makse us sick, tired and overweight, maintaining a healthy pH gives us health and wellness.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We’re not over weight, we’re over ACID. It’s not a fat problem, it’s an over acid problem. If our body doesn’t eliminate acidic waste, it gets parked on hips, thighs, buttocks and bellies. Being acidic is what makes us fat. What you eat and what you drink affects the alkaline/acid balance of the fluids in the body. We all need to focus more on alkalizing foods and high pH drinking water to counteract some of the acid.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;4. Intestinal Disorders.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We all know that most of what we ingest is absorbed via the intestinal tract. The vitamins, minerals, and nutrients we need in order to survive are extracted and absorbed from what we consume.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The intestines also have to handle the toxins, pesticides, heavy metals, chemicals, preservatives, hormones and carcinogens we find in modern day, processed foods.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Not surprisingly, the intestines require water to flush these toxins away. When working properly and hydrated, this process of food waste flows smoothly, but when the body is dehydrated, the intestines become cess pools of fetid matter. This matter sticks to the intestinal walls, resulting in a double whammy for our health. It becomes more difficult for the body to absorb nutrients and for the toxins to be flushed out. This in turn affects the blood, and when the blood is toxic, so too are the organs it supplies. We know the average person has between 5 and 22 pounds of caked, rancid, decaying, fecal matter stuck inside their intestines. We know about the compromised absorption of nutrients, but this build up also creates free radicals. We know that almost all diseases originate in the colon, or the toxic cesspool of fetid, fecal matter as the case may be. It is solely for this reason that colonoscopies are recommended yearly after the age of 40. They need to see just how bad your toxic waste dump really is.

&lt;br/&gt;Robin Williams has a great insight into what having a colonoscopy is like, but needless to say it is an unpleasant experience. The easiest way to ensure your colon remains healthy is to stay alkaline and hydrated. &lt;/div&gt;

      <title>Questions about Enagic/Kangen Water part 1</title>

&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Is there is a way you can become a distributor without buying a unit?
&lt;br/&gt;The answer is yes and to do so you must bring a sale in with you. They won’t pay you the commission as it will be used to pay off your own unit. Enagic are very generous with the 3, 6 or 10 interest free payments, which work out to be $1100, $550 and $330 respectively. The initial payment is around $700 or $328 extra if you live in CA, HI, NY, IL and have to pay the sales tax.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;How do these machines work?
&lt;br/&gt;There are 3 distinct things the machines do:
&lt;br/&gt;1. make the water high pH
&lt;br/&gt;2. restructure the water into smaller molecules
&lt;br/&gt;3. create active hydrogen in the water by electrolysis. Active hydrogen is the best way to stabilize active oxygen (free radicals).
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Do they use a calcium filter which has to be changed every so often?
&lt;br/&gt;You can use a calcium cartridge to add calcium to the water. I don’t use that.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;What kind of person is looking to buy these?
&lt;br/&gt;People know they need to drink more water, but don’t do so because they don’t like the taste. This water is so pure, there is no way someone could not enjoy drinking it.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The smaller molecules make it readily absorbed, so there is no bloated feeling from drinking a tall glass of water.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The market is simply anyone who cares about their health and who believes in taking anti-oxidants.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Do you set these in businesses or high volume places for people to use for a few days?
&lt;br/&gt;We have product demonstrations in LA and the next thing will be to set them up in various places around the country at people’s homes. If you get the people to watch the videos, then try the water, they can’t help but be extremely interested in it.
&lt;br/&gt;Can you tell anything from drinking the water?
&lt;br/&gt;I am 31 with no health problems at all. I do a lot of cycling and have noticed a quicker recovery and less muscle pain after my riding. I look better — skin wise, I feel healthy and I have had no ill effects from a few nights of drinking. I already take anti-oxidants and have done so for years — being able to combine it with water is just a bonus. &lt;/div&gt;

      <title>Self-cleaning electrodes</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;I had a question today about the units which have self-cleaning electrodes. The Enagic Leveluk machines DXII and SD501 both come with an automatic, self-cleaning system. The system is activated when there is any buildup present, or when the machine has been used for 15 minutes.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This is one reason why I have the voice turned off — otherwise I would constantly hear “Notice of Cleaning” from the machine. This self-cleaning helps your machine to produce gallon after gallon of anti-oxidant kangen water.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I was also asked about the difference between the ORP readings in a picture and he ORP readings from the gauge used in the videos. If you haven’t seen the videos testing ORP, pH and a demonstration of the SD501, please fill out the form at our main kangen water site and you will have instant access to them.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;In the picture, the ORP shows -387 and in the video, the ORP is -250. There are some reasons behind this difference.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;First, the water in the video may have been poured some time before. I believe there may be some dissipation in ORP levels if the water is allowed to sit in the open air. I will be posting further detailed information about this shortly.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Another factor is the source water. The videos were made in LA, so they are making kangen water from LA tap water. That truly is a miracle!
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Most municipal water supplies are adequate, however if you connected the machine up to a tank of dirty water, it would still clean and electrolyze it, but would produce kangen water at a much slower rate. &lt;/div&gt;

&lt;br/&gt;Around 1820 a major controversy broke out. It had been noticed that if an electric current flowed through water two gases, hydrogen and oxygen, were produced. This observation caused mayhem. Theories abounded among the great scientists of the day, but none stood up to testing and none of them was right! In 1832 Michael Faraday entered the arena and began to apply his mind to the observations that had been made. He worked by passing electricity through acidified water and the conclusions he had reached by 1833 completely revolutionised the way electrolysis was understood and built the foundations for all our modern understanding of the science.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;In electrolysis electricity passes through a solution of a substance dissolved in water, or through a molten material. Ions carrying different charges are attracted to either the positive or negative electrode. At these electrodes they either lose or gain electrons to form stable atoms or molecules.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Not only did Michael Faraday explain what was happening during electrolysis, he also introduced the terminology - electrolysis, electrolyte, electrode - that we still use today.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;As part of his careful work on electrolysis Faraday measured the amounts of different substances given off during the process. As a result of all his observations and measurements he formulated two laws which can be used to predict the outcome of any electrolysis. They are known as Faraday’s laws and they are still in use today in schools, in scientific research and in industry. &lt;/div&gt;

We certainly encourage everyone to do their own due diligence and read as much as they can about the benefits of electrolyzed water. I hope to gather a collection of useful information here that will assist in that process.

&lt;br/&gt;1. Improvement of blood glucose and HbAIC levels in diabetes mellitus.
&lt;br/&gt;2. Improvement of peripheral circulation in diabetic gangrene.
&lt;br/&gt;3. Improvement of uric acid levels in gout.
&lt;br/&gt;4. Improvement of liver function in hepatic disease, cirrhosis of liver, hepatitis.

&lt;br/&gt;Devices to produce reduced water were introduced into our clinic in May 1985. Based on the clinical experiences obtained in the past 15 years, it can be said that introduction of electrolyzed-reduced water for drinking and cooking purpose for inpatients should be the very prerequisite in daily medical practices.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The Ministry of Health and Welfare in Japan announced in 1965 that the intake of reduced water is effective for restoration of intestinal flora metabolism. &lt;/div&gt;

      <title>BIOCHEMICAL AND BIOPHYSICAL RESEARCH</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;At the request of a few interested people, I went out and found a research article, published in a medical journal about electrolyzed-reduced water and specifically how it Scavenges Active Oxygen Species and Protects DNA from Oxidative Damage.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This particular report was written by a team of professionals from the Institute of Cellular Regulation Technology, Graduate School of Genetic Resources Technology, Kyushu University, and the Water Institute of Japan. The most notable man on the team was Sanetaka Shirahata, head of the team from Kyushu University. Also interestin to note that none of the guys involved in the study are affiliated with Enagic in anyway.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Despite the complex nature of the article, they clearly spell out some things about electrolyzed water.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;“Active oxygen species or free radicals are considered to cause extensive oxidative damage to biological macromolecules, which brings about a variety of diseases as well as aging. The ideal scavenger for active oxygen should be ‘active hydrogen’. ‘Active hydrogen’ can be produced in reduced water near the cathode during electrolysis of water. Reduced water exhibits high pH, low dissolved oxygen (DO), extremely high dissolvedmolecular hydrogen (DH), and extremely negative re-dox potential (RP) values.”
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;My interpretation of this is that free radicals are actually active oxygen and cause problems. The best way to counter active oxygen is to add active hydrogen to the mix. Active hydrogen is added to water by electrolyzing it. This water will display a high pH, a high level of active hydrogen and a negative re-dox (ORP) level. Drinking this water will help to control the free radicals that we breathe and that are produced every time we ingest a food or liquid.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The ideal scavenger for active oxygen should be ‘active hydrogen’. Water is H2O. Makes sense active Hydrogen to scavenge active Oxygen be in water.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;They also talk about how “soft water in Japan made it possible to develop domestic devices to reform water by electrolysis about half a century ago.”
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The Japanese have known about this for 50 years. Why haven’t we???
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;In compiling this report, he says, “we first demonstrate that reduced water scavenges active oxygen species and protects DNA from damage by oxygen radicals.” What else needs to be said?
&lt;br/&gt;

      <title>Ideal happiness</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;I’ve studied a lot about Huna, energetics, meditation and happiness over the years and had the good fortune to meet Dr Bob Nozik earlier this year. I was at a Huna trance workshop here in San Francisco and Bob came in to speak about Happiness.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We were working on clearing out blocked energy or “emotional landmines,” and all of what Bob said fit in perfectly. It is one thing to clear the energy out, but another to ensure the same landmines aren’t triggered again in daily life.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;After one of the days, a few of the guys taking the workshop and I went for some dinner. There was one guy from Pensacola who really wanted to go to the Cheesecake Factory, so we went along there.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;It was a Saturday evening around 6pm, so I was expecting a lengthy delay and sure enough we were told it would be around 2 hours before we could get a table. No one in our group really said anything and in fact most of us found it amusing. The other people waiting though had different ideas. One guy near the elevator with his pregnant wife and young children started pushing someone else out of the way. Another person accidentally trod on someone’s shoes and they started arguing with each other. The whole situation seemed so absurd — people getting angry at each other over a restaurant. We all left and went to a restaurant with a much better atmosphere and no line.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Perhaps they had unrealistic expectations for a Saturday evening? All I know is that it is a waste of energy to get angry over things you simply can’t control. Another big part of it is ego. When we feel wronged by someone or something, most people fly off the handle. Letting go of ego takes time, but the rewards in terms of happiness are well worth it.

      <title>Direct Sales versus the dreaded MLM</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;In another call I made yesterday, I received some very candid comments about MLM schemes. No one was a stronger advocate of them being banned than myself for a long time, but since I started my internet business, I simply consider everything to be an affiliate program.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I also made the mistake of thinking Enagic was a MLM, when in fact I have learned the system they use is called Direct Sales. The distinction between the 2 is important.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;A traditional MLM is characterized by 2 things:
&lt;br/&gt;* a cost to become a distributor
&lt;br/&gt;* a minimum monthly sales quota or volume
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Enagic has neither of these things. You can simply purchase a machine and opt not to become a distributor or you can also become a distributor at no extra cost. On one of the recorded calls (512 505 6833 — Press 1 to hear more about Kangen Water, press 2 to hear more about Enagic), George, talks about a presentation he gave to 14 people. He only spoke about the water. At the end of the presentation, 13 of the 14 asked if there was a business side to it. People know the value of this and how big it is going to become. The only question I have is this — Are you one of them?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Let’s look at some of the most common concerns people have with Direct Sales.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;1. “Direct Selling Is Just Another Type of Pyramid Scheme Designed to Rip People Off.”
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This is a justified concern. A real direct selling situation is where you make money from product sales, not “introduction fees” or money from signing up new members. Enagic sells a product — in this case the Kangen water units. Have you ever referred someone to a restaurant or movie? Did you get paid for that? Why not? How many distribution systems do you know of that aren’t shaped like a pyramid?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Manufacturer
&lt;br/&gt;wholesalers
&lt;br/&gt;retailers
&lt;br/&gt;customers
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;One of my friends in LA sends me YouTube.com links everyday. I learnt about it from him, and he has probably introduced hundreds of other people. He isn’t getting a check or even a thanks after they sold it for $1.6 billion. All the profits stay at the corporate level. I don’t know about you, but I sure have a problem with that.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;2. “I Don’t Want To Have To Push Products On My Friends and Everyone Else I Know.”
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This one is simple — only join a company that has a product you believe in. That way, there is nothing to sell, you are simply recommending the product. As I mentioned above, we already do this with movies, foods, drinks, music, doctors, health products, books, restaurants, cars, equipment, appliances, web sites, games, sports, stores, and many other things to your friends and other people that you’ve met. What’s wrong with actually be paid for referring people?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I know that Enagic has the right background - both the Japanese Ministry of Labor and Welfare (equivalent of the FDA), and the Japan Association for Preventive Medicine for Adult disease — a nationwide organization composed of 6,600 physicians approve of them and they started manufacturing machines for Hospital use before the consumer units.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;They made $250 million last year, but unlike YouTube.com, they actually pay the people who helped them make the money. Is that really such a bad thing? &lt;/div&gt;

      <description>&lt;div&gt;In a conversation with someone yesterday, I learned of a company producing water ionizers for $489. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for, and these guys have the the proven track record of trouble to back it up.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Our kangen water makers, or kangen water generators, or kangen water machines or kangen water units, are recognized by both the Japanese Ministry of Labor and Welfare (equivalent of the FDA here in the USA), and the Japan Association for Preventive Medicine for Adult disease — a nationwide organization composed of 6,600 pyhsicians.

&lt;br/&gt;Enagic also started out making machines for hospitals and Doctors. It was only after they were asked by patients returning home and their Doctors about a unit to use at home that they started manufacturing the household models.

&lt;br/&gt;We get the same technology used in hospitals because we are in fact, buying a medical device.&lt;/div&gt;

      <title>A question and Distilled water, round 2.</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;I received some feedback about the E. Coli (e-coli-pervades-harvest-area) post. If you remember, I made the comment that such a scare made it even more important to properly clean food before you eat it.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The comment from the reader was this. “Isn’t going to help E-Coli. Distilled is the only water that could do that.”
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Actually, Dr Yoshiaki Matsuo, Vice Director of the Water Institue of Japan, has developed…hyperoxidized water with an ORP of +1,050mV or more, and a pH lower than 2.7. Tests have shown that this hyper oxidized water can quickly destroy MRSA (Methecillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus). If it can kill off Staph, the E. Coli doesn’t stand a chance.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The SD501, with 7 electrodes makes super acid water with a pH below 2.7 and an ORP of over +1,100 mV, so you can do the same thing at home.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We know the Japanese have been drinking kangen water for 40 years, but they have also been using it in restaurants to assist with food preparation. Perhaps that is why Japanese cuisine is considered among the best in the world and no one gets sick from eating raw fish (sushi). Remember, you can make 5 types of water with these machines.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Distilled water round 2.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I have a friend here in San Francisco who is very advanced in some areas of thought (which I will post about shortly), yet who still drinks distilled water. I saw him the other day when I happened to have the pH test kit in my bag. We took a sample of his distilled water. I added a drop of pH tester liquid. It turned orange. He checked the chart to see it was acidic. He’s still not convinced. I asked him what I’ll ask you, “what is something that used to be true, but that is now no longer true for you?”
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;He can tell me that alkaline water is also good for you, yet alkaline and distilled water are at opposite ends of the scale. One is alkaline, the other is acidic — they can’t both be good for you. Distilled water is acidic. Simple as that. When you leave a penny in a glass of soda over night, it is the distilled water used to make the drink that eats away at the metal, leaving it shiny the next day. Drinking distilled water will make your body acidic and disease can take hold in an acidic environment.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We understand that strong acidic water has its place — like washing your vegetables before you eat them, not using it as drinking water. That’s where the high pH, Alkaline, Kangen water comes in.

      <description>&lt;div&gt;I received a comment the other day via email asking me if I was a Doctor, so I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about my story.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I’m originally from Canberra, Australia. Since 1999, I have been moving between Japan, Australia and the US. So far, I’ve lived in Seattle, San Francisco, LA, San Diego and Ft Lauderdale. I’ve made brief stops in Phoenix and Tampa. I realize I have so many more places to visit here and after returning home for Christmas, my next stops will be Las Vegas, then Texas. I’ve really enjoyed the company of the people I’ve met from Texas. I feel they have the same laid back vibe as Australians. I think they also enjoy eating beef and drinking beer — 2 acidic inducing vices also popular with Australians. They are also very into sports, especially football. I remember watching Super Bowl 25 as a kid and have followed the game ever since. I also enjoy football movies such as, “Friday Night Lights,” and a documentary called “The Last Game.”
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I swam competitively from the age of 7, so was used to special diets, training sessions and the importance of proper hydration from a very young age. I studied the Zone Diet when it first came out back in 1992 and visited Marv Marinovich at Irvine in 2003. Dr Sears had tested his diet at Marv’s pre-season training camp, with spectacular results. I called him up from San Diego and he offered to pick me up at the Amtrak station. At his facility, I trained with some guys getting ready for the NFL combine, which was a great experience. I found both Marv and his assistant, Gavin, to warm and genuine people and he refused to accept any payment from me after the sessions I did with him.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;In September of 2001, my Father was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He already had both the Zone and Body for Life books — Christmas gifts from 2000, yet had made no change to his diet. I still felt he would benefit from taking an anti-oxidant such as Pycnogenol, however both he and my Step-Mother — after discussion with the Neuro Surgeon — felt conventional medical options would be best.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;He had surgery to remove the tumor.
&lt;br/&gt;He had radiation and chemo-therapy.
&lt;br/&gt;He passed away in April, 2002.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;In January of 2002, I made one of the hardest decisions of my life at that time. I made the decision to return to Japan for work and personal reasons, which meant I wasn’t present when my Father passed away. As I said to him before I left, “this will break my heart to leave you here, but to see you slowly decline into a zombie would destroy me.” At that time, he could still talk, he still had his great wit and we could still reminisce about our great times together. Unfortunately, my Sister only seems to remember the decline, his incoherence from the medication and his ultimate end — which is how I remembered my Grand Father.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I also renewed my conviction to determine my own fate regarding health. To accept 100% responsibility for it and to never find myself in a situation where all my faith is in a system that consistently fails people. My Grand Father also died from a brain tumor, so I am acutely aware that the same fate possibly awaits for me if I don’t take preventive action, now.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I write and research all the articles here and will continue to do so and it was my reading about the alkaline diet earlier this year which led me to recognize the true benefits of Kangen water when I discovered it in July. I couldn’t save my Father, but I can save myself and hopefully some other people out there. For him to die simply because he was acidic from poor dietary choices — something we can consciously change — is a monumental waste to me because the answer is so simple — stay hydrated, stay alkaline, take anti-oxidants to keep free radicals in check.

      <title>pH explained</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt; In my reading about pH, I have discovered many things — like the skin has a pH of around 5, the stomach acid has a pH of under 4, the blood a pH of 7.365 and the cells in a healthy body are around 7.4 - 7.5.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;So, with all these different pH levels in the body, what effect does drinking high pH water have on all this?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;When we eat something and it is broken down, the residue left as a result is either going to move the body towards acidity or alkalinity.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;These residues accumulate and when your pH gets to be below 7.0, you are said to be in a state of acidosis. Your system starts to lack oxygen, you age at an overly accelerated rate and you are more susceptible to disease, weight gain, poor athletic performance and low energy levels.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;When we eat high alkaline food or drink high alkaline water, the alkaline residue acts as a buffer against the acidic residues which have accumulated. If we eat or drink something that is acidic, then we need to counter that with something alkaline in order to remain in balance. Not doing this, over a long period of time results in acidosis and the problems mentioned above.
&lt;br/&gt;

&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;There are many amazing functions in the body, and the production of hydrochloric acid in our stomachs is certainly one of them. We know the stomach is acidic to digest food, but what happens when we put high pH water into the stomach?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;When we drink high pH water, the pH of the stomach acid will increase. If it goes higher than a pH of 4.5, the body automatically starts to create more acid to lower the pH back down to below 4. I have also read that a good suggestion is to drink high pH 20 minutes before or after eating in order to let the stomach acids deal with digesting the food.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Bicarbonates
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Are the alkaline buffers in our blood, which helps maintain a constant blood pH of 7.365. There are constantly both an alkaline and acid buffer monitoring the blood pH — the acid buffer work to bring the pH down, while the alkaline buffer works to raise the pH.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The alkaline buffers are sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, calcium bicarbonate and magnesium bicarbonate. The acidic buffer is mainly carbonic acid, which is a combination of carbon dioxide and water. Completely burnt carbohydrate becomes carbon dioxide and water, so there is never any shortage of acid buffer in the body.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This is the interesting thing — in 1996 Dr. Lynda Frassetto at the University of California, San Francisco, discovered that as we age, starting around age 45, we lose the alkaline buffer – bicarbonates - in our blood. By the age of 90, we have lost 18% of the bicarbonates in our blood.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;A lack of bicarbonates in the blood reduces our bodies effectiveness to neutralize and eliminate the acid produced in the body every time carbohydrate is burnt and used as energy.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;It is interesting to note that age 45 is usually where humans start to develop diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis and other degenerative diseases. Since we start to lose the bicarbonates in our blood at this age, we can’t manage the acid or the built up acid wastes in our bodies. The wastes end up as cholesterol, uric
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This next section is taken from Sang Wang, author of “Reverse Aging.”
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Which is the most important property of alkaline water?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;“There are many properties in alkaline water, such as surface tension, structure of water, molecular size, oxygen reduction potential, pH value, which alkaline minerals are used to sustain the pH value, etc. However, with the exception of the water’s pH value, nothing else helps the blood receive bicarbonates. Also, all the other properties change as the water reaches the stomach and interacts with the stomach acid. Even the pH value changes in the stomach. However, the change of pH value causes the stomach to produce hydrochloric acid that goes into the stomach, and the bicarbonates go into the bloodstream. The most important function of alkaline water is to increase bicarbonates in the blood because we lose bicarbonates as we age.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;When we say that we alkalize our body, we don’t necessarily mean increasing our saliva pH or urine pH; it means increasing the bicarbonates in our blood. The blood pH does not change, but the ability of our blood to neutralize acid in the body increases.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Our stressful life-styles create more acid, which causes us to use up more bicarbonates. Some foods are more acidic than others, especially, high protein meat products and highly acidic soft drinks. These are the reasons why we lose bicarbonates in the blood as we age.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The medical society considers the reduction of bicarbonates in the blood as an inevitable fact of aging. I argue that the reduction of bicarbonates in the blood is the cause of aging and diseases, not the result of aging. As long as we can replenish bicarbonates in the blood, we don’t have to age!
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This is the good news about alkaline water!
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;When to drink alkaline water
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Since bicarbonates enter the bloodstream only when the stomach produces hydrochloric acid, it is important that we drink as high a pH value alkaline water as possible. I recommend we drink alkaline water on an empty stomach. On an empty stomach, the stomach pH value may be high but the amount (volume) of hydrochloric acid in the stomach is small; therefore, drinking high pH (9.5 to 10) alkaline water will raise the stomach pH relatively high. That may cause the stomach to produce more hydrochloric acid, allowing more bicarbonates to enter the bloodstream.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Another possibility is that alkaline water may pass into the intestine immediately, since there is no solid food in the stomach to be digested. When that happens, the blood will absorb alkaline water into the bloodstream from the intestine. If alkaline water is introduced directly into the bloodstream from the intestine, the acid buffer (carbonic acid, H2CO3) will interact with the alkaline water to bring down the blood pH and the acid buffer will become the alkaline buffer.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;An increase of bicarbonates in the bloodstream will prevent aging and the onset of adult degenerative diseases. Now you know the scientific mechanics of how alkaline water extends life. This kind of water is produced with a water ionizer because the alkaline mineral in tap water is predominantly calcium.
&lt;br/&gt;Only Alkaline Water!
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Various kinds of commercially produced water claim health benefits: energy water, Pi water, snow melted water, special spring water, magnetically-treated water, oxygenated water, hexagon structured water, etc. However, none of them adds bicarbonates to the blood except high pH alkaline water. When we think of health, we think of diet and exercise. But no diet or exercise adds bicarbonates to the bloodstream.

&lt;br/&gt;Some people argue that we can ingest bicarbonates (baking soda). It will be like ingesting salt because our stomach acid will break that down into water, carbon dioxide and sodium salt; no bicarbonates will reach the bloodstream. And we all know what salt can do to the human body.

      <title>Diuresis and Diuretics</title>

&lt;br/&gt;A diuretic is anything that causes diuresis. Caffeinated beverages as well as sodas and alcohol are diuretics.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;All vegetables are good diuretics, but in particular celery, cucumber, lettuce, watercress, tomatoes, onions, carrots and bell peppers. Herbs like parsley also. Even water is a diuretic.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;What makes coffee, tea and soda diuretics?
&lt;br/&gt;The mild diuretic effect in coffee, tea and soda stems from their active agents, classified as methylxanthines.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Now, from what I’ve read, your body requires an extra glass of water for every cup of coffee, tea, soda or alcohol you drink to counteract this water loss.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;But what about vegetables - do you need a glass of water to counter act their diuretic effect?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The answer is no. Some vegetables, such as cucumber are made up of 90% water. It can be readily assimilated into the body as just that - water. Same for drinking large amounts of water throughout the day. What the body doesn’t need, will be removed as urine.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The body has to break down the coffee, tea, soda or alcohol , which creates toxins, which require water to dilute and flush them from the system.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The thing to notice about drinking water/eating vegetables all day versus drinking cups of coffee, tea and soda (and beers after work), will be the color of your urine. Strong yellow urine contains undiluted toxins from the kidneys. Clear urine also contains toxins, only they have been diluted by the extra water.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The extra water — assuming it is kangen with micro clusters — will be absorbed into the cells more easily and like the tide coming in on a dirty beach, will wash away the acid buildup in the cells.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Then there is the added bonus of ATP creation. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP), is the energy of the cell. When water passes through the cell membranes, our cells create their own mini hydro-electric plant and create ATP energy from the process. So in effect, the more water you drink, the more you will hydrate and flush your cells from toxins, the more diluted your urine will be, the more energy you will create in each cell.

      <title>LeveLuk DX vs DX II vs SD501</title>

&lt;br/&gt;I went with the SD501 personally, because I wanted the water with a higher Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP)*, a longer warranty, longer life span*, ability to produce more water per minute, etc, etc. I know it will get a workout when my family see it.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;These comments are from one of my sponsors who bought the DX II…

&lt;br/&gt;Enagic LeveLuk DX“Let me just say the DX is not a good idea. The electrolysis container is not detachable and there is greater risk of accidentally letting the fluid run into the machine and when that happens, the machine can become permanently damaged.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;It’s basically becoming an obsolete model.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Enagic Leveluk DX IIThe DX II is fine and is the one I bought. However, the warranty is only for 3 years (the SD501 is for 5), there are just 5 electrodes (the SD501 has 7), the water is better both in taste and healthful properties in the SD501.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The SD501 costs a bit more–like $50 more per year over the life of the machine but is well worth the difference.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The DX II is fine but not as good as the SD501. It is $700 less with a lesser warranty and fewer electrodes. I have the DX II and will eventually get a SD501. The DX II does have a separate electrolysis container–a must!!!“

You can have your skin sanded, chemically peeled, zapped with lasers, frozen or injected with Botox, the catchy hyphenated name for botulism toxin. You can spend thousands of dollars in a pretty short period of time to achieve results that may or may not be what you hoped for.

And, then I’ll need to buy 28 bottles of water a week, and bring them home and store them. At this rate, I’ll never drink water again.

      <title>An introduction to free radicals</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;When I hear the term “free radical,” I immediately go back to the most boring science class experience I ever had. Free radicals are part of the world of quantum physics — where men and women in white jackets look at atoms and other things 1 millionth the size of a pin head.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I hope to try and break through the science here and explain as clearly as possible what free radicals are and what they can do to your health.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Let’s say each atom has a positive and a negative end. Atoms that have both poles will remain stable and continue to do what atoms do in a normal fashion. Now let’s say an atom only has a negative end — it is missing a positive and thus becomes unstable. It will bounce around inside the cell looking for a positive and in doing so cause damage in the cell.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;An unstable atom is called a free radical and the collective damage done to the cell by the unstable atom is called oxidation. When the body has enough damaged cells from free radicals and oxidation, we have aging. Obviously, we need to do something about these free radicals.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Every time we breathe and every time our body breaks down nutrients for energy, free radicals are created. We must breath and eat in order to survive, so simply stopping either thing is not an option. What we need to do is introduce anti-oxidants to the body to combat the oxidation and ultimately, the aging.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;An anti-oxidant is simply an atom that has only a positive end. When an anti-oxidant meets with a free radical, they both join up to become a stable atom. Stable atoms don’t damage cells, or cause oxidation or cause aging. We want stable atoms in our body.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;There are thousands of supplements available today claiming to be anti-oxidant. I take several of them, yet I have never seen any information about just how effective they are at combating free radicals. We can measure the anti-oxidant potential of liquids using an ORP meter (Oxidation Reduction Potential).
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;You can’t stop the creation of free radicals in your body, but you can do something about the anti-oxidants you need to stabilize them. Drink anti-oxidant, Kangen Water.
&lt;br/&gt;

      <title>Electrodes 101</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;I’ve been researching into the background and construction of water ionizer units. At the present moment, units are manufactured in Japan, Korea and Taiwan. There are some units assembled using parts from those countries in the US, however there are no recognized US manufacturers of water ionizer units.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;So who makes the better units?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Since the Japanese were the first the develop the machines — around 40 years ago — they must be given due credit. They are meticulous when it comes to product quality and in fact have an expression - icho - meaning first class. The water ionizer units manufactured by Enagic are indeed, first class. You may already have Japanese products in your home — brands like Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic. Reliable products made with cutting edge technology. This is a trademark of the way the Japanese manufacture things.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;There is also the issue of the electrodes. Should the unit have 5 or 7 and does it really matter what they are made of? A unit with 7 electrodes will have a longer life by 28% over a unit with 5. There are 2 more electrodes to share the workload of processing the water. For a family, a unit with 7 electrodes is a necessity as the requirements for the water will be larger. The unit with 7 electrodes can also make water with a larger ORP range, meaning both the strong acidic and strong alkaline water for cleaning will be be better by having a higher or lower ORP as the case may be.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I have heard of some cheaper units using stainless steel electrodes, but it appears to be an urban myth. All of the units I have examined have platinum coated, titanium electrodes.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Since neither titanium or platinum are inexpensive, the electrodes themselves create most of the actual cost for the unit The better the electrodes, the better the unit. Titanium is a very strong metal, which is why it is used. The platinum is a good conductor and is durable, however no units make electrodes completely out of platinum, primarily due to the cost, but also because they wouldn’t last any longer than the titanium dipped electrodes.

      <title>RV water tanks</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;I’ve been reading about RV water tanks, and the problems they face ensuring their water is safe to drink. I’m actually a Yacht person and RVs are considered to be land yachts, so that makes sense to me.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Basically, the RV water tank is a “large petri-dish” on wheels. The movement of the water, the air and the heat create an environment that dissipates the chlorine in the tank whilst giving new life to the bacteria it once controlled. Not only do you have to drive the RV, one must also become an amateur water treatment worker by maintaining a safe system, treating the water in the tank and then purifying it before drinking.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Treatment involves super chlorination of the water and allowing for the dissipation of chlorine. In other words, RV owners need to have the water in their tank at higher levels than normal of chlorine in order to stay safe. I don’t know about you, but by the time it gets to my glass, I don’t want it to have anything in it at all.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We need the chlorine in the water to kill off the bacteria such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium, however we don’t want to drink it. This where kangen water comes in.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The SD501 — Enagic’s 7 chambered ionzing unit is portable and can be used with any faucet. RVs have 120 volt AC power for home appliances, so using the unit at home or in the RV is easy — simply plug it in and away you go. The water is first purified through the filter, which is made from granulated carbon and calcium sulfite. &lt;br/&gt;I was also interested to read that most areas with bad water are ones that take their supply from mountain streams. In advertising, we associate crystal mountain streams with purity and cleanliness. I guess they don’t want to show the bear doing it’s business in the water or a dead animal floating by. Of all the animals blamed for contaminating water, the poor old beaver gets much of the blame. It seems they spend most of their time in or near the water supply so it is inevitable their waste (and the parasites from their waste) will end up in the water.

&lt;br/&gt;I don’t know if I’ll drink the next time I’m near a mountain stream. Actually, I’ll have a bottle of kangen water with me, so I won’t need to.&lt;/div&gt;

      <description>&lt;div&gt;I recently heard that Dr Hiromi Shinya is an advocate of ionized, alkaline water. For those of you not familiar with Dr Shinya, in 1968, he developed the technique of colonoscopy. Since that time, he has performed over 300,000 colonoscopic examinations and believes there is a strong correlation between intestinal views and dietary choices.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;He says that lifestyle related diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, etc are directly linked to your diet. If you eat a proper diet and drink good water, your colon will remain clear of built up waste, which is a haven for toxins to thrive and create disease in the body.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Yearly colonoscopies are recommended after the age of 40, which means I have 9 years to go. The condition of my intestines at that time — after eating a proper alkaine diet and drinking a gallon of Kangen water daily — will be pristine.

      <title>Kangen water at Scamdex</title>

&lt;br/&gt;I recently saw a post asking about the validity of Kangen water at Scamdex. This is my reply:

&lt;br/&gt;I’ve been drinking Kangen water for around 2 months.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Before that, I was drinking Penta water and before that — the same time last year — I was drinking distilled water.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This last weekend, I completed a 100 mile endurance cycling event. My performance was 25% better than last year and I didn’t need to take a single anti-inflammatory to complete the event.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;My diet was also the same, the only difference this time was the water I drank.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;There are a lot of books now on the Alkaline diet and the importance of reducing acidity in the body and we know that disease thrives in an acidic environment. Kangen drinking water ranges from pH8.5 ~ pH9.5 and is anti-oxidant. It can be scientifically measured using a ORP (oxidation reduction device) and will show a negative reading.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;It is also restructured into smaller clusters of water molecules, making it easier for the body to absorb. After my event, I drank 2 regular 9oz bottles filled with kangen water and needed to use the restroom. The water was absorbed straight away.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;If being alkaline is bad for you, if drinking water is bad for you and if taking anti-oxidants are bad for you, then kangen water is of no benefit to anyone.&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;br/&gt;2. As part of your anti-hangover ritual, consume 2-3 glasses before bed to reduce hangovers.
&lt;br/&gt;3. To drink during meals. Balance some of the acidity contained in foods such as rice, bread, egg yolks, any meats. Drinking high alkaline water will help to balance the effects of these acidic foods.
&lt;br/&gt;4. For brewing tea and coffee. Prevents tannin in tea, brews tea with a rich color, eliminates bitter after taste and enhances the flavor of tea cold. Improves aroma and color of coffee while preserving the natural acidity. Achieve a full, rich taste using half the amount of beans.
&lt;br/&gt;5. Add kangen water to whisky for a smoother flavor. Also add kangen water ice cubes.
&lt;br/&gt;6. Beer, sake and other spirits can be diluted with kangen water as well. Beer will seem milder, but not lose taste.
&lt;br/&gt;7. For soups — kangen water draws out the flavor of the soup stock and other ingredients.
&lt;br/&gt;8. Add to seasonings and condiments. Maintain flavor of soy sauce while using 1/3 to 1/4 of the amount used and adding kangen.

&lt;br/&gt;12. For boiled foods. Natural flavors will be drawn out requiring less added seasoning.
&lt;br/&gt;13. Heat conduction. Kangen water speeds up boiling time by improved conduction of heat. Spend less time cooking thus lowering your utility bills. Dishes will be cooked far quicker than usual.
&lt;br/&gt;14. To water both plants and flowers. Extends the life of cut flowers and restores sick plants. For varieties such as roses requiring a more acidic environment, the solution can be diluted by 300%.
&lt;br/&gt;15. Water seeds. Kangen water stimulates germination and seedling development.
&lt;br/&gt;16. As drinking water for pets and animals. Animals health will increase, odors from body and waste will decrease.
&lt;br/&gt;17. For dyeing/painting. You will love the vibrant colors obtained using this water.
&lt;br/&gt;18. To maintain good health. Drinking 2 liters a day will eventually change an acidic constitution to a slightly alkaline one.       <title>Distilled water</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;We’ve had several questions about the benefits of distilled water, so I wanted to try and clear a few things up.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;First , let’s examine some of the properties of distilled water. Water that is boiled, evaporated and condensed is said to be distilled. This process removes the minerals and allows the water to absorb toxins from the body. It also removes electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, chloride and trace minerals such as magnesium, and for this reason, it is not considered safe to use distilled water when fasting.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;When your body consistently loses huge amounts of calcium, magnesium and other trace minerals into the urine, the risk of osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, hypothyroidism, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure and a long list of degenerative diseases generally associated with premature aging increase. Distilled water also absorbs carbon dioxide from the air, making it acidic.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The more distilled water you drink, the more acidic you become. It is also interesting to note that sodas are made from distilled water. We all know what happens when you leave a penny in a glass of soda over night — it ain’t the sugar that’s doing the work. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, “Distilled water, being essentially mineral-free, is very aggressive, in that it tends to dissolve substances with which it is in contact. Notably, carbon dioxide from the air is rapidly absorbed, making the water acidic and even more aggressive. Many metals are dissolved by distilled water.”

&lt;br/&gt;Distilled water is great for cleaning your iron, but not your body.

      <title>Signs of a stroke</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;I received an interesting email the other day about the signs of stroke.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;As I understand it, our blood vessels over time can become like a garden hose left out in the sun too long - very dry and brittle. This is caused by oxidation and when a vessel shatters, it ends up as a blood clot as seen in this picture.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;When the blood supply is blocked, no oxygen arrives and the cells in that area of the brain literally die, leaving the person without the use of their left arm, etc. A stroke is a terrible thing to have happen, and yet it is simply caused by the process of oxidation.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;How do you help to prevent oxidation? Take an anti-oxidant like Kangen water. I’ve have recently moved up to Kangen 9.5 and feel great. Here is some more information from the article.

      <title>Are you chronically dehydrated?</title>

&lt;br/&gt;For many of us, when we hear the term dehydration, we immediately think of a man staggering in the desert, or an athlete having just finished a gruelling event. We are correct in a sense, however these are both examples of acute dehydration.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;You may be surprised to learn there is a far more widespread form — chronic dehydration — that we should all be concerned with.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;So how do you know if you are chronically dehydrated? Again, many people have the belief that when they require fluids they will feel thirsty. Not so. By the time the mouth is dry and you feel thirsty, the body is well and truly dehydrated. You may also be surprised to know that a dry mouth is a sign of acute dehydration. You have gone beyond chronically dehydrated by that point.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The body is a smart system though, and before you reach the point of dry mouth, the body will give signs as it begins the process of redistributing the available water. When the body is in a state of chronic dehydration, then fatigue/energy loss, constipation, digestive disorders, high and low blood pressure, stomach ulcers, respiratory troubles, acid/alkaline imbalance, excess weight and obesity, eczema, cholesterol, urinary infections, rheumatism and premature aging will take place. I can (and will) write an article on each of these problems, but they are all caused by being chronically dehydrated. Any way you look at it, having to go to the bathroom more than once a day is a small price to pay for feeling great and being healthy.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The human body consists of 70% water, the brain consists of 80% water, the blood consists of 90% water. Let’s face it, we rely on water as the basis of our existence — not soda, or juice or coffee, tea and beer. We need to ingest water in its purest form, free from any chemicals in order for our cells to remain hydrated and our body systems functioning as they should.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;How much water do you need? The best way to calculate your daily water intake is to take half your weight in pounds and convert it to ounces. If you weigh 160 lbs and work in an office, then 80 oz of water throughout the day is what you need to be drinking. If you are working strenuously outdoors in a hot climate, then you would need more. It should seem like you are constantly going to the bathroom and your urine should be clear. This is how you know you are properly hydrated. Every night you sweat as you sleep, so you need to repeat the same process every day of every month of every year you are on the planet.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We know that a 1% loss of total body weight in water will result in a 10% loss in physical ability. When you consider at a temperature of 82 fa, water loss is 3 liters an hour, or more than 4% of total body weight, that means we can expect a 40% loss in physical ability. If you are working in that temperature, it increases. I don’t know about you, but there are a lot of places I’ve lived that get to 100. In such warm environments, you need even more water to stay hydrated. For your physical and mental well being, it certainly pays to consider both the quality and quantity of the water you drink.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Are you hungry or thirsty?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;If we need water, we can either ingest liquid or we can ingest food with water content. Our bodies will settle for either, but it is usually the food we go for instead of the liquid. Yes, in many cases, we mistake hunger for thirst, eating as much food as we need in order to get the water our body requires. The result of this is added stored fat — assuming the foods consumed are processed or take away as most busy people are inclined to eat. And the more you eat — you guessed it — the more water you need to digest and eliminate waste from your body.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Our bodies are made of water and without it, we are lucky to survive 3 days. Despite this, so many of us live our lives with uncomfortable medical problems such as constipation, simply because we don’t drink enough water. Einstein once said, “insanity is doing the same things over and over expecting different results.” So, do it. Drink more water. Hydrate your cells. They will be happy and you will also be happy as a result.
