Neuro-pharmacy of the 8CB according to the AstroLogik Model

I have been studying the theory and practice of utilizing the astrological neuro-pharmaceutical model and am in need of some clarification of terms.

I understand and have experience with many of the entry-commands, but still have quite a few blank spots.

Antero, or anyone else, can you help me out here?

What is a hedonic, and what examples of hedonic drugs exist in the world today?

Would MDMA be considered an empathogen, and be considered relevant to the SCORPIO entry commands?

What is an example of a hallucinogenic-stimulant?

Thanks

  • Hedonic refers to whatever induces pleasure, rapture and bliss. As for what drugs do this, that's sometimes depends on the personality. For some, pot can do this; for others, pot makes paranoia. I don't do drugs anymore since I have been using ritual and psychic technologies to access the neuropharmacy of my brain.

As for the links between 8CB and ASTROLOGIK, I dont' see any. The ideas and the exercises starting on page 97 in ASTROLOGIK (these also appear in PREGNANT UNIVERSE) were not meant to be entirely literal, as in, literal drugs but metaphors, ie., "hallucinogenic-stimulant".
    • Yeah there really isn't a link. I think I titled the post that due to a lack of another place to post my questions.

I realize you weren't referring to actual external drugs, but rather I am looking for an example to help me visualize the style better. I guess I have a better understanding, in terms of the neuro-pharmaceutical model, of the styles which I am familiar with the associated drugs. For instance, I really get gemini (amphetamine) and virgo (caffiene), but leo (hedonic) and scorpio (empathogen) still elude me.

      Oh well, never mind.
      • yea this stuff is always metaphorical, i see the drug triggers of the circuits to be pretty silly and can easily belittle such an integral and intelligent a model as the 8cb into drug-culture kitsch

but yea to put it very simple

5th circuit - marijuana = it blissed you out and puts you in a state of high and body centred euphoria (though of course getting fixated on this it can 'activate' all 'circuits' but may seen as acting primary on this hedonic level)

6th circuit - LSD = it opens you psychic centres and allows you to enjoy the brain-pleasue of higher-intellectual self-awareness and the kind of kaleidoscopic vistas of dynamic reality

7th circuit - mushrooms = because they really blast you into a deep high emotional states of sensing adn feeling the vast connectivity of all life - the radial living consciousness of the planetary organism

8th circuit - ketamine = because it blasts you out of your body into the realms of extraterrestiral non-local experience whereby you can feel yourself as existing as pure consciousness independant of the physical body and beyond any limitations of space and time
        • another world-beater of a speeling and grammatical exercise. Although I think its pointless with the drug thing i do enjoy the metaphor of pot-lsd-mushrooms-ketamine as a means of explaining the upper 4 circuits, although its quiet obvious that each of these drugs effects every other 'circuit' in varying ways
          • your annoying
            • I mean, I was asking a simple question, of personal relevance and importance, and you feel the need to call it "silly...another world-beater of a speeling and grammatical exercise...and pointless". Thanks for your extraordinarily informative and insightful input.

              • what ? ?

i was merely attempting to clarify my position as akin to that of Sherpa's, stating that although the energy of Scorpio maybe metaphorically similar to that of 'hallucinogenic-stimulant' such as MDMA, LSD, Mescaline or such things, becoming fixed on such 'entry commands' as a point of departure for understanding what Scorpio is all about might do more harm than good.

Scorpio is fixed water (Concentrated Water, in Astrologick terms) - suggesting that unlike cardinal (source of) water (an active and creative emotional state) that marks the nurturing tenacity of Cancer, or mutable water (a circulation of emotions in an ongoing endlessness and dissolving-into-nothing state of pure surrender) that marks the intuition of Pisces, Scorpio is about a fixed concentrated focused and deeply receptive passionate emotional state - one that brings a certain instability and volatility that is required of any chaotically creative energy in a state of transformation - which is the opposite polarity of Taurus - fixed earth - a concentrated of base survival needs and the kind of stubbornness and stability that is required as graceful basis to all creative modes of operation

There are elements of Scorpio in any drug, be them amphetamines, hallucinogens or opiates - because Scorpio by and large represents the drug and sex-related state of becoming fully absorbed in the experiences of ones conscious death and rebirth

The "silly...another world-beater of a spelling and grammatical exercise" was a reference to my first post in this thread which was rushed and full of hideous grammatical errors.

But yea, to answer your question more firmly - I think that point of an MDMA trip when your really rushing hard and completely engrossed in a highly synthetic escalation of your emotions - and looking at your friends and completely overloaded with how much love you have for them etc - is very reminiscent of a Scorpio-like experience - but once again - there is a lot more to Scorpio than simply that, but using that as a temporary - and i mean temporary - reference point might be helpful for you if that correlates to your particular configuration as-it-is.

                happy?
                • Rob,

Yes, thanks for the clarification. I apologize, I was feeling a little testy this morning, easily annoyed, and thought you were being condescending and dismissive of my questions.

Your elucidation does help a little with Scorpio.

Mine main reason for inquiring along these lines involves my attempts to work with my astrological 'blank spots'; scorpio and leo being two big ones; cancer being another. I am attempting to experiment with the willful assumption of astrological styles and find some of the pharmaceutical 'entry commands' useful thus far; i.e. virgo, cancer, aries, through the visualization and invocation of thought patterns and behaviors resonant with how I believe I would think and act whilst under the influence of the associated drugs.

I have spent a great deal of time theorizing and studying the astrological styles but am looking to take advantage of opportunities to engage in more practical experimentation. For me, with my history, visualizing drug-effects seems like a reasonable place to work from.

Again, sorry for the name-calling; I know its annoying to be called annoying.
                  • This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
One way to bust open those blind spots is to identify which houses (states) Scorpio or Leo rules, ie., where these signs start a House. Often times, the blind spot around a sign relates directly to a bigger bind spot around the life experiences represented by the Houses.

It's a common oversight of many astrology books and classes to underestimate the importance of the Houses. In my practice, the Houses hold a priori status over planets, signs and aspects since they refer to the very territory itself where all the energy action of the forces take place. Check the Houses that your blind spot signs ruie and see for yourself.
