So I assume most of us on this forum have some experience with Angel Tech and the 8CB model, and thus have some experience defining intelligence, but, I ask, how are you defining consciousness these days?
I am working with this:
consciousness = intelligence = the ability to absorb, process, and communicate information.
By this definition, all life is conscious and intelligent, however life-forms vary in their modes and degrees of consciousness.
Also by this definition, one could posit that all matter and energy possess a degree of consciousness, and thus a degree of intelligence, and vary only in terms of the variety of information they are able to absorb and the degree to which they can process and communicate that absorbed information.
You?

Re: Define Consciousness
Tue, June 30, 2009 - 3:29 PM1. Consciousness can be communicated
2. Consciousness is both subjective and objective
3. Consciousness can be manipulated both internally and externally
The perception of consciousness depends upon one's vibrational frequency and intent, not intelligence like intellect ,per se....but
a highly sophisticated system of codes made of light, sound and what we call chemicals processed and emitted by phenomenal creations. These phenomena sometimes have a carbon based structure though often not. One's ability to perceive consciousness is sometimes limited to the level of dimension accessible by the observer or query, since one cannot energeticly interact with something outside of one's perceptual range. Humans , for the most part have been unable to perceive and/ or communicate with consciousness that have much slower or faster vibrational frequencies .But that is changing. Humans are mutating and developing dynamic structures
that will enable the expansion of perception to be able to experience and interpret data previously "unaccessible .

Tue, June 30, 2009 - 4:02 PMConsciousness is the "symbolic" or "objectifying" function by which the body and its environment have perceptual encounters; it is the phenomenological perception. -

Wed, July 1, 2009 - 8:52 AMDan, you certainly have a way with words! Phenomenological perception, hmmmmmmmm, perceptual encounters, I certainly like the sound of those "symbolic" fractal morsels.
