DNA--more powerful than a mustard seed
The sentence that caught my attention in the new book, Eight Circuit Brain, was when Antero described meeting his future wife in Boulder, he said (sic) his first thought, inner voice, said this woman could be the mother of my children. DNA had kicked in.
I give so much consideration to the metaphysical aspect of life and consciousness without connecting it to this physical form, that gets passed on like a starter for friendship bread with questionable origin. Last night I met a woman who teaches the Evolution of the Brain, the physical science of it, how the brain becomes more complex. One of the things that I appreciate about your (AA) experiences/teachings is how you keep the body in it. Unfortunately not my strong point.
Meanwhile I'm losing myself in the vastness of what that teeniest vehicle for life does for me, where spirit meets form.

Sun, October 11, 2009 - 11:52 AMOh yes, 100% commitment. I think I was committed to exploring the adaptation to alchohol part of my DNA when I made that last comment. I don't even remember changing my picture. Maybe there was some behind the scenes faery work going on.
Down is vertical too. -

Re: The sentence that caught my attention
Sun, October 11, 2009 - 12:04 PMDown is definitely vertical too. I see verticality as an active process of consciously sourcing the earth below, the soul within and the stars above as a vertical column of awareness also capable of interacting with the horizontal plane of other people and the world at large. KInd of like a double vision effect, the intersection of vertical and horizontal and all them elliptical, diagonal interfaces, LOL. I find maintaining verticality while interacting with others to be invigorating, especially so around those people who - despite all their good and decent intentions -- do not know how to stop draining other people. -

Re: The sentence that caught my attention
Sun, October 11, 2009 - 11:35 PME-prime, OK. Way down there, so far down I look up to see the bottom and feel the earth's gravitiational pulse pulling me through this vertical pool of downward dogs and way cool cats and kittens, dancing like the star spinning above my head and that's why I deleted my own post just now.. -

I think you hit upon the crux of it.

Re: The sentence that caught my attention
Mon, October 12, 2009 - 10:43 AM<what's E-Prime? >
English without use of the verb "to be" and its various conjugations.
The purpose of E-prime is to refine language to reflect the understanding that the map (the language, models, concepts. and schemas) "are" not the territory (the reality the maps reference, signify, or represent).
English: E-prime "is" a more accurate way of communicating.
E-Prime: E-prime "seems like" a more accurate way of communicating "to me."

Re: Down is vertical too
Mon, October 26, 2009 - 9:48 AMfor two weeks now I have been free of intoxicants-cold turkey. at least Iknow I'm not physically addicted. its a lot easier saying no to everything than weighing the abundance of tempting opportunities. the important thing now is the vow to myself - -
