Re: Cutting Out Sampants
Wed, September 9, 2009 - 5:47 AMFor those of us that need customs, is there any chance that we can see some fabric swatches so we know what to choose from?
Your velvet pants are lovely but it's hot 24/7 where I live and fabrics that can breathe a little are a blessing. -

Wed, September 9, 2009 - 3:23 PMblack cotton lycra - medium weight - similar to some Melodias. Its a common fabric used in yoga style pants and such! I have no other colors available! -

Re: Cutting Out Sampants
Sun, September 13, 2009 - 10:10 AMoh dear...you have a sale going on...ahk!
how forgiving is the velvet you use for these? i have a large backside (probly pushing 48-50" right now, so larger than your XL) and less than stellar, cellulite ridden thighs of doom :( does this velvet have enough heft to it to not show all my cottage cheesiness? i guess i should probably email you too... -

Re: Cutting Out Sampants
Sun, September 13, 2009 - 12:26 PMHi Andrea, I think I may have started to message you, but I may have been distracted and not sent it - so I'll answer you here:
I think the stretch velvet is pretty "forgiving" in black. Someone else may want to jump in here and tell us what you think! I like how it feels - a little like a girdle. And they seem to hold up well. The cotton lycra will not feel quite the same, but it breathes - unlike the velvet. I have a real hard time finding the heavy cotton lycra that was popular years ago, so Im not sold on how the modern stuff that I have to use works on hiding what we dont want to flaunt.
Im curious too, to hear what everyone else feels about this! -

Re: Cutting Out Sampants
Sun, September 13, 2009 - 1:37 PMhaha so the velvet would probly hide ye olde thunder thighs pretty well, id guess...at least make them smoother looking, and not a lumpy mess like id likely get with the knit. i dont have a hair of melos to compare the weight to, so im never sure!
id likely be wearing this all over the place, and not always have something over the tops of my thighs, which i usually try to keep pretty hidden, so anyone elses thoughts would be appreciated by me too!
most of my other dance pants seem to have that lack of breathing thing, too, and i get a little sweaty after wearing them while dancing all day...i assume itll be about the same, eh?
i sent you an email about an order for these, too :) -

Re: Cutting Out Sampants
Mon, September 14, 2009 - 1:22 PMYa know, I always wear a dress over mine - unless Im being brave at the gym. And I see others wearing skirts and dresses over thier sampants also - its a cute look if you dont want it all hanging out. Melodia's idea of having the butt coverup attached to her pants was just brilliant. -

Re: Cutting Out Sampants
Mon, September 14, 2009 - 3:24 PMyeah ill probably wear them under a super long shirt, or dress most of the time...i have a lot of short dresses id never wear without shorts (long shorts, gotta hide those legs) under them! eeeep! but i got some pointy ankle boots recently, and i REALLY want something to wear them with, and i think the Sams will do the trick!
