A Middle Eastern dance event in Charlottesville. I love the folks who
organize this! Last year, the food was fabulous--- great carnivorous
and veggie-friendly stuff alike. Mark and I are definitely going to be
there. Rumor has it that Mark (aka Baris) might be presenting a class
on The Decadent Art of the Hookah!

From Saahira on Tribe.net:
I've got the date set for June 28th for this event! Yay!
For those who don't remember, it is an event designed to bring the SCA
folks together with the local ME dance community. To showcase the
local teachers and what they offer, to talk about dance within SCA
context, and have some great classes to try out new styles and ideas.
This will be the 3rd year, and should be really fun! Last years was
wonderful! We had so many great teachers, great classes, great food,
and great turnout from the community. People came from Richmond,
Fredricksburg, Roanoke, Newport News, and from all around the local
area! I'm hoping to bring back some of the teachers from last year and
am looking for some more new faces this year!
If you have a class or topic you would like to teach, if you know of
someone who may wish to vend, or you would like to help in general,
please let me know!
We are going to do a gate fee this year and will be looking for
volunteers to help with this and other general setup/event details.
I'm not going to do a "feast" this year, but would like to have food
included in the price, perhaps like we had for lunch... ( i'll be
begging a certain couple to help me with this, because they are so
awesome and they did such a great job last year AND stayed within
budget)...
Also this year, I'd like to do a couple of round table discussions or
panels on various topics that people would like to know more about.
For instance, I didn't get to complete the "Bellydance Mythbusters"
discussion last year, but we'll do it this year! I believe a class on
camping with the shire encampment was mentioned as well.
Anyway, save the date!!! I hope to see lots of smiling Isenfiri faces!
