I'd also suggest almond oil instead of olive oil. It absorbs better.
Back when I did a lot of cold, open water swimming, I used peppermint oil mixed in Vaseline to keep my muscles warm. Smear it on the legs and arms, and it was waterproofed heat.

Fri, July 13, 2007 - 11:44 PMTo add to that, I really like the dissolvable arnica tabs for when I have soreness in more than one area (i.e. after a new/hard workout and my whole body hurts, lol). Arnica gel is great for specific areas but the tabs (you dissolve under the tongue) seem to work better for whole-body aches.
