Sunday, May 18th, 2:30 -5pm: The next MEDSOK event is a HAFLA.

The business meeting at 1:30 PM will be followed by our second event of the year, a HAFLA (translation: get up and dance!) and not just ANY hafla, mind you. In order to make the hafla fun for people who refuse to dance in public, we have tables, chairs, and refreshments; to make it fun for those who want to dance but don't know what to do, Tami and one or two other MEDSOK members will teach us a couple of debkes that they learned at Helena Zahara's Debke workshop in Indy this spring; and for those of you for whom a dance floor holds an irresistable attraction, we've got, ahem, a dance floor.

Members are free, non-members are $3. Teachers, please feel free to invite your students. In order to encourage newbies to get out on the floor, we will give your students a chance to showcase a choreography if you have one ready to perform.

Costumes are optional. If you have second-hand costume items you'd like to sell or trade, bring them to our Used Costume Souk. The event will be held at Ruric-Amari's studio inside Distillery Commons on Lexington Road. For directions:

Hope to see you there!
