Okay, the workshop program for Leylas festival in Duisburg that I have in mind might look kind of crazy, but here it is anyway :)

Aziza and Ava are going to be great and I'm quite excited about Mardi Love too. Bit curious about Farah though. I could really use an improvisation workshop, but don't really know Farah all that well. (but considering she's in the evening gala's, she must be good :-)) -

p.s. Khalida, Artemisia and Milka...don´t forget you´ll be going with me for a dinner ok, so on friday keep the afternnon/night free :-)
Maybe we can cath MArdi and Mori as well for dinner, that will be a lot of fun aaaaaaaaaaaa

I've found my way to this tribe :-)
Luna and I, we still have some difficulties deciding which workshops we are going to follow, we need some sponsors :-)
Anyway we decided to dance during the contest as a duo, yeah, we will tremble so we will shimmy a lot, but with a little help of our coach ;-), we may be proud of ourselves, to have faced this challenge...
Now I need to work some more, but I cannot concentrate, wonder why :-)

Are you staying in a hotel the whole week?

Wed, June 11, 2008 - 7:49 AMI currently work 20 hours a week, but have arranged a flexible schedule at the workplace so I can make extra hours when needed to get some time off during Duisburg week..
Weekly classes will be closed for 2 weeks (boo..) But after that I'll be back with tons of new stuff and inspiration :)
I'll be staying at a hotel during the first week, the second weekend I'll travel to Duisburg by train.
Leyla offerst some sleeping spots in her studio at a very cheap rate, and some hotels do not charge very much extra for an additional bed, so students sometimes arrange with each other to share rooms during the festival. -

You can stay for 11 euro's a night, but you have to bring your own sleeping stuff.
And the cleaning lady (mother of Leyla) will wake you up really early in the morning!:)
But it's cheap and the first weekend I will be there as well!
I can't stay for the whole week, because of school.....
Last year I just took a long weekend, but I was suprised how many workshops you can squeeze in one weekend. I took all of Sharon's workshops!

Wed, June 11, 2008 - 5:25 PMPS: I do not have kids.. would be hard to balance a family with my current dance and work plans.. and I have no social life either ;-) Maybe some of the peeps that have or plan to have kids can exchange tips?
When I was working full-time I only did weekend workshops or the workshops around the weekend (so Friday evening till Sunday or maybe Monday if I could take the day off.) The Festival in Duisburg is only an hour and a half driving from home, so sometimes I travel back and forth during the week if I only take evening workshops.

Tue, June 17, 2008 - 1:53 AMi work 80%, and i'm taking a full week of holiday yes. and with only 20days of holiday a year, yep, it's a comitment. i need to take 4 days to make this happen...
BUT: this will be my 4th duisburg festival! i see it as my yearly sabbatical... ;-). this is just part of my annual holiday for me. i take a week in summer, a week in november, and the rest of the days usually go on other bellydance related stuff. this is my life ;-). i dont know what would happen if i had a kid.
i'm not staying for the 2nd weekend this year because
- no aziza
- might have a gig in england
- have a busy week the week after
i also have to cancel all my classes that week, and that's tough too... but since i know about this before the term even starts, i can manage around it. and hopefully half my advanced class will be coming along.

And to answer your question Rosita, I'm trying to go in the weekends as much as I can :-) I did save some days off at work for it (work fulltime), but my boyfriend and I are building a house, so I'm on a budget!
If I can save some extra money by then, maybe I'll go one more day or squeeze in an extra workshop on the days I'm already there (I'd like to take one more Ava, but I'm putting that on hold now).
Don't have any kids (yet), but I do have to find me a nanny for my dog :-) -
