Im looking for any remedy to stop the swelling of mosquito bites in my 5 yr old daughter. I try to catch it early with tea tree oil (apparently will suck the sting out) to prevent itching, which leads to bigger than golf ball sized swelling. But it doesnt always work. I've tried medical benadryl, zyrtec and the creams you can buy over the counter. All do not help. I wash it to prevent infection, and seems like i tried everything. I'm sure there has to be some other remedies that can try, any help or guidence where to find it would be appreciated.

Re: mosquito bite therapy
Fri, June 23, 2006 - 1:40 PMHi Jennifer, there is an amazing oil that gets the itch away from mesquito bites as well as ant bites, or insect molestations of all kinds. The only kind that I know works is available through Wisdom of the Earth, and the name of the oil is Balsam (Gurjun). Also, lemongrass and Lemon Eucalyptus are powerful in keeping mesquitoes and the like away altogether. if you're interested in ordering the oil, or you want more information, feel free to contact me. amy@purewellness.org. I'm a certified medicinal aromatherapist and massage therapist, I hope I can help!
