It's that time of the year again.... Bunny Jam time!

Just wanted to mention that it's super easy to just extend the ears to make your kitty hat into a bunny hat. Just remember to sew the pink inside ear patches to the front piece before sewing the front and back pieces together.

My weekend project

Hey gang... so glad I found you! I'll be making my kitty hat this weekend. I'm using a combination of pink and blue fur. I want a pink band around my head, then the main of the hat blue, with pink ears. My mom will help, she helped me make my matching coat last weekend so I have faith it'll be great.

Questions... how important is lining? Do I really need to line if it I don't intend on reversing it?

Any tips for adding contrasting color to the ears?

My coat is blue with a pink stripe down the back. Any other suggestions for mixing 2 furs into one hat?

Kitty Hat Meow-To

Hi all ten of you! I'm new here and teaching myself how to sew. I really love it ~ sewing, and the kitty hats.

When you make your hat, do you measure your head and then allow a bit extra for a seam allowance? I ask because I've used faux/monster fur once before and there was no give at all. (Elastic is a bit advanced for me at this point)

And, this may be a silly question, but is a regular needle okay or do I need to use a sturdier one?

I must say I'm surprised at the lack of discussion on this tribe. Kitty Hats are a profound thing. There are so many aspects to discuss and ponder. Should they be made with the fur pointing up or down? Are people smarter when wearing kitty hats because their head aren't numb with cold? Are kitty hats fashionable in any social situation or for Burner events only? And most importantly, is anyone wearing their kitty hat for Halloween?
