Does Mr Abbott not know that the entire pretext for the invasion was fallacious?
Does Mr Abbott not know what happens to armies who attempt to occupy Afghanistan?
The slogan used to be "you cannot win a nuclear war".
The updated version, if NATO learns from history is "you cannot win a guerilla war".
Abbott has a responsibility to his constituents.
He has a responsibility to ensure our tax money is not wasted on propping up yet another corrupt US puppet regime in the middle east, incurring the hostility of Muslims in a land that never threatened us. $20 billion and counting, for the Canadian debacle in Afghanistan.
